The time has come to fix AoE Holds/Mezzes
Leogunner replied to SeraphimKensai's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Would probably benefit Dominators disproportionately. Recharge of AoE holds should be dependent on how much AoE control a set has. Sets like Plant can already lockdown every spawn because Seeds isn't that long recharge. Earth already has several AoE controls, soft and hard. Some Controllers even have 2 AoE holds. And with player IOs focusing on def and rech, the recharge of the holds isn't really even an issue. -
Am I the only one that has issues editing in-game bios? Occasionally the cursor seems to move randomly and I'll start adding words to the middle of another sentence, something you'd probably run into if you're trimming the bio for shorter words and less wordy phrases. It was a problem I had in the past, now I just type in another program and then copy-paste.

Pretty much. Maybe because you're up your own arse, you're not paying attention to anyone but yourself. Well you are stroking your ego since you seemed to have forgotten where you came from. I'm on Indomitable. Roll up a new character and we'll experience the whole spectrum of the game.

Sounds cookie cutter like practically every build boasted on the forums to me. But it doesn't take a skilled player to follow a template, nor does it take a good player to just load up on IOs and incarnate abilities. But keep stroking that ego, it looks good on ya 😋

Thinking about a scenario this would assist: a boss on a platform surrounded by turrets on the walls that spammed attacks and TAoE -def patches on the platform. The solution would be buffs that give +def debuff resist, bring only Shield, EA and Super Reflex users, buff player def into the sky, just have crazy buffs, resists and heals or just dimension shift.

My guess is, if you ended up getting surprised 2-shotted, quickly rezzed and Domination wasn't recharged (have to wait for your crutch to recharge again), you'd probably get crunched in a normal team-sized spawn too. The thing about mind control is, the foes don't even have to know you're there at all until it's too late. Building a good character tends to come with the connotation of building by template and it tends to be more stifling than diverse.

Hi. I think it's already been pinpointed that your problem isn't with MM endurance on their attacks. Your problem is with Thugs: Dual Wield being messed up. Looking at all the other attacks compared to their counterparts on Defender blasts, the costs aren't that bad (around 25% or less) and this is likely because MM not only gets pets and support, but also pet commands which cost no endurance or have recharge. If you have endurance problems with a petless MM because the attacks are slightly more costly, sprinkle in some pool attacks. They cost the same across all ATs.

Does Burst still crit every foe from hide rather than the lowered AoE % chance? Put a Guassian proc in it then.

Anyone a Psychologist who can help explain this to me?
Leogunner replied to Solarverse's topic in General Discussion
This thread has really brought to light both extremes: people being overwhelmingly controlling and people being extremely petty when offered (or *gasp* told to follow) a set of instructions. Both extremes are up their own asses which should be an indicator. If the highway exit you're about to take says "North YourAss" you should probably start reflecting. It's just a game so no reason to take things seriously or personally and yet, a common factor in playing games is following instructions and discovering patterns. I'm sure we're all just blowing this out of proportion and no one's actually polishing a strong opinion here. We're just airing opinions and chatting, although some can be more abrasive than others (me!). I'd say battle it out in the game and get some of the posters in the thread to run the TF as a group. -
Personally would rather it be something of a power or specialization of your character. Like having a certain amount of +perception will give you a unique audio ping once an ambush is within a certain range. Low +perception would mean the ping would happen when they're right down the hall and of course -perception would mean you probably won't see them coming. But then I'm thinking in the era of games where little extra perks like this or finding/disarming traps or being able to convince someone with your words were things to differentiate your character. But the era we're in is one of convenience. Giving prior indication of all ambushes is like giving everyone a Spider Sense...or it just neuters foes even more than they already are, making them seem so incompetent, they can't even coordinate a simple "wait behind a corner" trick without broadcasting their location to the world.

I do the same thing, but it's not to get rid of looking at team chat. I just tend to swap tabs like having NPC chat in its own tab so I can see what the NPCs say or notice if an ambush is coming. I have Rewards in a separate tab so I can see my drops. I tend to swap back to team chat if I hear someone in team said something, indicated by the team chat audio indication. But yeah, most of the time I'm not set to team chat. -
Lore: Was there ever any resolution to Mangle's story?

Unrelated, but there are plenty of women who write letters to murderers, mass shooters, etc in prison asking to marry them or have kids with them. Morality is subjective and objectified when taken from an isolated view within a standard. The same can be said for depictions of morality in fiction. -

Well, if they just all went along and the fight went smoothly, you wouldn't be here making a thread about it and we wouldn't be talking about the subject. What I've learned over many hours of playing MMOs and other co-op games is, the experience is more fun and memorable when things DON'T go right. I only bother trying to relay advice and strategy if the overall experience up until then has been bad and things look rough up ahead or several individuals are actually interested in utilizing a strategy. Trying to herd cats isn't fun so I prefer to pull out water balloons and unleash a bit of my own insanity in the mix. If I were in the OP's situation, I would certainly keep my distance until the first volley was over because likely, your team make-up will have debuffs and I don't want to get caught in them. If I'm ranged, even better. I know who my first target will be: me. Because the only person killing me is me, lol. EDIT: And if I'm the tank, I feel utilizing a bit of movement can help as drawing the foes' attention then moving behind them, you can stay away from any dropped debuffs like Tar Patch or Glue Arrow and any persisting debuffs will be away from other teammates unless they huddle around me. Of course, this only works for the opening volley and whatever happens after really depends how sturdy of a tank you are and what kinds of effects the shadow clones throw at you. -
Lore: Was there ever any resolution to Mangle's story?
Leogunner replied to RikOz's topic in General Discussion
Didn't Megamind end up becoming the hero of the story because his crafted hero opponent became a psychopath? And I didn't watch Despicable me but Gru seems like a guy that does "evil" stuff because he's trying to fulfill an image when in fact, he's a caring figure. -
I tend to feel the same way, particularly when players give the advice of "just get perma-dom and everything changes!". Even with perma-dom as a crutch, if you don't know how to use the powers, it only goes from "you struggle until you have enough buttons to press" to "your buttons come up fast so just spam them all".

I don't think Empathy is heal heavy. It has 3 powers that heal while the rest is either utility (ally rez) or buffs. If you're going Empathy, all I can say is: a) don't tell me to gather for auras. just cast them and try to hit the most people with it...unless the team is performing bad. it's a waste of time and thus the buff as it destroys all momentum you had. b) don't neglect clear mind. keep it on those squishies. it also has +perception so you might spread it around to everyone when dealing with foes that have -perception debuffs.

Can I just swing my weapon? You can even keep everything else the same.

Have you invested in damage procs?

Well well well, how did I miss this thread? I've been playing Stalkers all the way back when they "sucked" and people actually subscribed to the whole hit-and-run style and gave that advice to other newbie Stalkers. Even back then, it was bad advice. First of all, you've got the whole situation wrong from the get go with the quote "So your strategy is go fast and your tactic is to go slow." No, the strategy is to choose your battles and the tactic is to kill them quickly. You choose your battles because you have stealth. You can decide when to engage, who to engage or if you want to engage at all. Killing them quickly can range from isolating a single hard target (EB/AV or just a boss that resists your damage) or simply know the foe and kill the one that will screw you over with some kind of debuff or ally buff. The main thing that has changed from the beginning to now is that you can play a Stalker like a Scrapper and get rewarded for it on teams. Solo, it's mainly dependent on your goals so who cares. I would recommend picking up the ATOs. I'm actually a fan of the BU recharge one on sets that have fast attack rates. Put a Guassian proc in BU too and you're blowing holes through practically anything.

What are you talking about!? @Roderick JUST stated what you see in the tooltips is ONLY the slotted values. It doesn't take into account ANY outside buffs when displaying enhancement modified values. Not buffs like Hasten or Speed Boost, not IO effects like Luck of the Gambler, Force Feedback or set bonuses...but that's only the DISPLAY, not the actual accumulated value that takes affect when you use the power. That goes for accumulated accuracy buffs and bonuses, damage, endurance reduction, etc. Again, the displayed tooltips is only the effect of the ENHANCEMENT values. If you wanted to know the accumulated effects of all buffs and bonuses on a power, I'm sure you've got MIDs and you already created the build so you can see those values there. If you're asking why the mouse-over tooltips doesn't take into account all buffs, then maybe you've got a question. But your OP and the quoted have already been answered. I don't know how else to explain it further.

Top tier: Everything I play. Mid-Bottom tier: Whatever someone else plays.

It purely depends what power you use if your weapon goes away or not. As for replacing your weapon in its holder, kind of sounds like reverse redraw. Instead of playing an animation of drawing your weapon when you use a weapon skill, you play an animation when you use a skill that's not a weapon still. Unfortunately, that doesn't exist. Maybe an idea to put forth.
-
And you did all that because some whiners that didn't pay you money couldn't be arsed to "waste" an early power pick that they can simply remove from their tray in an online game? I remember getting criticized when I said most of the suggested ideas on here are pure "gimmie gimmie gimmie NOW!". The truth hurts, though. OP, you can just wait 2 levels and pick that other power you want, you know. It's not that hard. Your character will still function. The system is built as a give-and-take. The reason you can't pick either power in your secondary is a layer of "take" to glean a semblance of "give" to the AT that uses those powers as a primary. You remove that and it's all "give" with the next stage likely asking to choose powers, either primary or secondary, at the same level...then ANY power at any level instead of the variable give-and-take that occurs as you progress from level 1 to 50. This same bullshit was tossed around asking for EPP/PPP to be dropped to level 14 or 20. It's all unnecessary filler ideas baselessly kicked around that shouldn't have effort wasted on. That was my 2 cents. Continue to kick around the idea. It won't go anywhere, but if it does have a semblance to possibility, you will find me as your opponent.

There are also IO set bonuses that provide KB protection if you so incline in Kinetic Crash, Fury of the Gladiator, Overwhelming Force and Gladiator's Javelin.
-
Using context clues from this quote: "I want to be able to play a tank with all of the options, Energy Aura, Regen, Ninjitsu.", no. The OP is asking for complete powerset proliferation. Complete in the context of "finished", not "fully", i.e. sets that fit an AT's powerset combination (Dominator = control/assault, Scrapper = melee/defense, Tanker = defense/melee, Corruptor = ranged/support) having all relevant sets available.
