Want to watch me make this pencil disappear? Pay close attention... Go to the character creator. Select Mastermind. get to costume creator. Pick female. Tailor to satisfaction. You have a female Mastermind. Ta-da!

Thanks. I really put this off. I hate Valentines Day. There should really be an optional V-Day Massacre alternate for villains. So many kills of certain mob types awarding each badge. Just a suggestion.

DJ Zero will not give me missions. Just says go dance. Scratch introduced me to choice Percy or Unai. then doesnt talk anymore. Scratch did not introduce me to DJ Z. Is there a current way to get these two badges?

I have been playing...a few days... There has never been even a hinted rumor that Purples are anything besides completely random drops. Of course, some of these geeks can keep a underground server hidden for years. Looks around. So, I suppose anything is possible.

Why not just put Single Origins on him if he is just a zombie? Armor him up as much as you want (and want to spend) and then just slap burn on autofire and put him on follow?

So how tall do you guys make your characters?
Snarky replied to Beef Ninja's topic in General Discussion
Big, medium, or small. It depends. -
I have run a Dark/Invul 50 Brute on live for a long time. I have one here I ran for a month or two. I have a Invul/Dark Tank i ran here for a month or two. I almost never run Tanks for that long before moving on. I feel Invul/Dark Tank is the strongest Tank in the game. effortless melee control of all opponents. however, a very high recharge Dark/Invul Brute is just sick strong. I would still be on one as my main if I did not find the three aura toggles on my Dark/Dark Brute so satisfying. Damage/Fear/Stun. You do have to pump the heal more though lol.

really detailed environments that are beautiful. the last (and best) story arc system. really freaking hard content. endless petty politics. no escape until 20... I soloed it a few times on live. The politics in the end ruined it for me. Give me a kill all from some criminal mastermind any day over that holier than thou crapola

Okay. I still hear what you are saying. And you are wrong. The statement above is just word smush that means nothing. "Brutes ane now in a position where they can no longer effictively Tank on most teams unless they jump a couple groups ahead...." WTF does that even mean? I mean yes. i read it. I understand the words. Can you explain how going off solo is "Tanking?" It has been said, time and again. and again. and then one more time. Brutes can Tank. For A team. Forget it. i am out for coffee.

Let me tell you the story of Redside. Sit down with something warm to drink. Next to a fire, preferably burning on the bodies of your enemies. The Devs envisioned MMs as Redside Tanks. Do not ask me why. Redside teams had no patience for that. Do you? So Redside teams let Brutes take the Alphas. That is mostly it on a good team. Not hold agro. Not herd. Soak the first strike and survive. Then your team hits back with everything they got. In busy maps. (There are a LOT more busy maps Redside) where opponent mobs are close and splash agro is practically guaranteed a second Brute will take that Alpha. If you do not have a second Brute that means you got Doms, Corr, MMs, something that can at least start to lock down the craziness. When teams learned the tactics well and built their toons to take advantage of it true ROFLSTOMP teams were born. Leapfrogging from one giant room spawn to the next. Brute taking the Alpha, team cleaning. Second Brute (not off-brute) jumping to the next fresh spawn to start the process. Players that like to clean mop up would be doing that and move on at the tail end of teams. Brutes would be in the front. Everyone else right behind the Brute. If you build a Brute to Tank (taking Taunt, which is NOT required for ROFLSTOMP tactics) you can Tank okay with it. Not quite as good as a Tanker because of the Agro mechanism on Taunt regarding Tanks. I Tank with my Dark/Dark Brute on heavy Psi damage incarnate Trials. My Brute does not have Taunt. It aint necessary when you keep punching something in the face. If, big if, You have a team where there is a traditional Tank and you try to "off-tank" and your team is slowly working the map from one less than 17 mob spawn until the next. Yeah, you probably will not enjoy the experience. If I am on a team doing that..... I will be soloing the spawn ahead of you. Wave to me.

After a couple tough experiences lately (some teams ...wow lol. They do not get that +4/x8 has to be approached with a plan. Everyone sees it in AE and thinks every team should run this every mission) I have revised my Main's build to get Rune of Protection. The build is tighter. Tankier. But Dark/Dark WILL fold under enough pressure. Pressure that an Invul Brute would most likely not fold under. But Dark has Soul Transfer. An insanely powerful Rez that recharges in less than a minute and a half on my build. Still, Bruting instead of Tanking is about more than "how much damage can I take?" Bruting is a commitment to the sloppy ROFLSTOMP team style that Redsiders invented. Tanking is built for militant by the numbers, line up in an orderly fashion to be killed style. Either AT can do either style. But Brutes revel in the former and Tanks glory in the latter. I suppose this is a two-fold question. I assume Stalkers do more 'burst' damage? Which AT does more damage over a longer fight? Are Stalkers more suited to big AV fights due to the sustainability of damage in a long fight or are Scrappers?

I made a Brute "Tank Mage" out of Kinetic Melee / invulnerability. It was pretty comfortable at non melee ranges. Odd duck. i incarnated it and played it for a couple weeks. Not a favorite. Shattered for parts. But it did work at what it was designed for...

If (big if) you have the slots you will get the most mileage out of the high end sets res/rech. There is one each for the high end sets. So, no set bonuses. Titanium Coating, Aegis, Unbreakable Guard and Gladiators Armor each have on Res/Rech. If you have a super high recharge build you can just mule a Resists set Def% global in there (what i do on my main) High end you can use the 4 slots as above, then the Glad Proc and the Steadfast Proc. one stop shop for knocking out good bonuses on a Blaster for instance. And gets the Glad 2 set bonus that way.

I tried for years to find a certain type of character. Never succeeded. Until I stumbled onto Ice/Cold corruptor last week. Wow! I have tried Ice/Ice and cold/ice ice/cold on what I thought was everything. Evidently I missed or did not look close enough at Ice/Cold Corruptor. Cold in particular on a Corruptor is such a powerful set and the combo of Ice and scourge puts it in a "sweet spot" we all know that Kins are extremely powerful and always welcomed on teams. Are certain Archetype Kins better than others? I find Dark Melee/Invulnerability Brutes to be in a very sweet spot of incredible survivability and good damage. The changes to Dark Melee even slightly improved that. Are there other standout archetype primary/secondary synergies that a stuck in their ways long time player or new player might benefit from knowing about?

My current main is a Dark/Dark Brute. For years I mained SS/Will and SS/Inv Brutes. They play similar, in that all three are Brutes that jump into combat and kill stuff. Dark Armor is completely different. ESPECIALLY pre I/O. Invulnerability and Willpower live by the rule Defense>Resist>Heal. Without I/O Invul comes out at least slightly ahead because it has better Defense and Resist. Dark Armor throws out that playbook and wanders off on it's own. Left unaltered at the tailor a Dark Armor character becomes an amorphous smudge of purplish black in a vaguely elongated shape. Perfect to illustrate what the enemy "sees" Dark Armor has stealth. On a heavy melee class. (Brutes and Tanks!) Not being seen > Defense. Dark Armor has 3 "Aura" powers. One Damage, One Stun, and one Fear. Enemies that are Feared or Stunned do not attack. Without the I/O the accuracy on the Stun is crap, but it is there. Not Being Seen > Mezzzed Opponent > Defense > Resist >Heal. Dark Armor is a Resist set. But it has what is without argument the best individual heal in the game. If you cannot kill the thing in one shot it is back to full health. Oh, you killed it? Dark Armor has one of those Resurection powers that stuns the crap out of EVERYONE around. So, so much for killing it. It is back. In play (especially pre I/O where you need to use tactics more) A Dark armor will float to the group it wants and run in to get the alpha strike. Heal, then start destroying what it has agro'd. If any mobs are not immediately in it's area (Point Blank!) they ignore Dark armor eating their friends. It is funny and cruel and way different than any other armor set i know of on a heavy melee.

God bless. My heartfelt prayers for you and her.

A simple fix to the Synapse would be having all the kill alls on a small map. The difference in the time between getting all small maps and all large maps is EXTREME and it is pure RNG

I took a lot of these suggestions to heart. My current live build has 4 Pacing of the turtles. The new build I am respeccing into has one. The major changes were adding Artillery in Sleet, Preemptive Optimization in Heat Loss, Superior Winters Bite in Freeze Ray, getting the 2 Rech I/Os into Benumb and turning Infrigidate into a 3 slot proc power. Thank you all for the suggestions. The build looks tighter definitely. Really appreciate the suggestions on what to enhance for and why. Really helped. Call me selfish. You would be right. But I can get rid of combat jumping and add Temp Invul and get those two +3% and room on my build plus more survivability. Do not even know why I was not doing this. Thank you. crap. those enhancers are in artic fog lol I can swap out Artillery for pacing of the Turtle in Sleet. Better bonuses for my build!

Is this like George Carlin boiling down the Ten Commandments into 1 instruction?

I still remember a slow team melt on old Posi back on live. We lost half after first hour. another a half hour later. Last mission the other two quit. Me alone. On a F-ing Nrg Nrg Blaster. Not tricked out. I tried. I could not get the final EB, even pulling sniping using elevator. Too many mobs and so much wasted effort lol. Doing this thing solo on a Blaster may be a White Whale I finally get on Homecoming! Hmmmm...I will wait a while though. sheesh.

Team. All the time. I felt just softcap Range Def and not going for AoE Def was neglecting Def lol. But I come from Brutes... Infrigidate...Yeah, If i had another way to softcap range I would. Literally ran out of powers to enhance. (that took +range Def) Shields. I hate solo buffing. Not dislike. Hate. From my cold little Hatey Heart. Benumb. I was able to move about 4 slots in the live version of this. Benumb got two additional slots for 50+5 Recharges. Heat Loss and Sleet....again,. PotT is meh, but it gives ACC and Range Def. I will look at cramming other sets on. I will. I know this is a crap shortcut to a good but maybe not great goal. Artic Fog...Winters Gift huh....nice. 1 slot huh...crap Frostwork. Other Allies can have max health huh? I will look into ...nah, just kidding. I don't want to stand around solo buffing. I corrupt, not band aid. Since this is a team build I do have on all three leadership toggles. I am nearly ready to slot Hybrid. Will be going with support radial embodiment. May switch later. My theory is keeping benumb and other debuffs up and then boosting my team is more effective than more personal individual damage I will buff. Passively. I draw the line at standing around patching people. Thanks for the feedback. I will look at getting rid of the Pacing of the Turtle sets... But man it is hard for me to give up ranged softcap lol.
