  1. That's the problem right there, the current version of Mids is 2.6
  2. Thugs is really good and is not only a ST focused set! You have the Arsonist that has 3 AoE powers. The Enforcers have a cone machine gun thing and the Bruiser has Foot Stomp. Gang War can also be thought as another AoE power since it just summons 10 dudes that rampage around. Gang War is also nice to have because it can serve as a mule power for all the Mastermind pet aura IOs from the various sets. I am currently playing a Thugs/Cold and I also have a Demons/Dark. I could see how great Thugs/Dark would be since you already have a /Cold. /Dark is really a whole bag of fun to be sure, almost all of the powers are fantastic (except Black Hole). You got great CC, great debuffs, a very strong heal (that needs an accuracy slot to be usable because it whiffs) and a 7th pet. I also really like /Time but you seem to be like my friend who can't stand the visuals even though it's a great set (Which I can respect, some sets are just ugly)
  3. I had read about how good the DPS is and I can see it... on a Pylon. Seriously though Lightning Storm in a "real" scenario that isn't hitting a Pylon for DPS is an awful power. The dinky little cloud pops up over your head, can't even target it, and shoots a single lightning bolt every 10 seconds, How is that even remotely useful when it takes 20-30 secs to clear a pack of mob and you move on ? Tornado is cool on paper too, until you see it running after that one minion that leaves the pack and aggros the next spawn. Storm was a nice dream but it's not for me, at all I have it right now on my MM, but I will be respecing out of it when I get higher up. I got it thinking it could serve as a backup heal but I realized that it doesn't even do that. It's just a +MaxHp buff. Really like being being Cold though, it's a late bloomer set that's for sure, not that it sucks at lower levels, just that it's really passive at lower levels. Once you get there it's really fun though !
  4. Thanks a lot for the build ! I will give it a try and see how it goes !
  5. Hi guys, I recently got a Thugs/Storm to level 38 but I find that the only powers that I enjoy pressing in /Storm are Gale, Freezing Rain and Steamy Mist. I found the rest of the powers that are considered "good" are in actually miserable in practice, Tornado and Lightning Storm (A.K.A The Disappointment Cloud). So I remade it in /Cold since it has most of the powers I like minus Gale and a bunch of actually good powers. I don't feel compelled to skip half the set either (Only power I see that isn't very good is Frostwork). I really like how much sturdier my pets are with /Cold compared to /Storm. With the 4 MM auras equipped my pets are already at Defence soft cap and I'm not even level 30 yet So here I am with my Thugs/Cold sitting at level 29 now, anyone got a build framework for this combo ? Thanks !
  6. I'm more interested in looking at the Inf/minute metric from the Farm Fresh guide. the mission I do isn't a 1 to 1 comparison with regular fire farm missions like this one, the mob density seems (didn't actually count them) higher in the mission I do the #10890. Like I said i know it's faster doing it as a fire brute, no dispute about it, I was just illustrating how you can have a well rounded character that can farm (with help of a buff bot to get the 10 min range in mission 10890) just fine without putting all that time into getting a fire farmer up to snuff. Like how much time do you need to invest into getting a spine/fire brute (that is boring as shit to play if you ask me) VS the time you would save in just having a regular well rounded character like my TW/Bio scrapper. If I have to invest 20 hours in a character to just get him ready to do farms fast like that when I could have spent that 20 hours just farming with my Scrapper, I don't think it's worth my time. But that's me with a limited amount of time to play who gets bored with characters and rerolls all the time who doesn't have the patience to play characters he finds boring even if it's the "time efficient" to play them
  7. Yeah, 10 minutes is what it takes me to finish the map, it's a pretty small map, it's one of those that is in space like on an asteroid. I forgot to mention in my original post that I have a Sonic Defender bot that is stealthed and floating above the center of the map. The whole purpose of this bot is to give my Scrapper the Disruption Field buff for a -30% (i think ? cant remember the exact amount) res debuff aura. Without the bot it would go a bit slower, probably in the 12-13 min range I would guess
  8. You don't NEED fire to farm, it's just a bit slower with non Fire sets. Personally, my farmer is a TW/Bio Scrapper and i do an s/l farm map (#10890 in AE). Yeah it's slower than a /Fire brute but I can't be bothered to level up and IO that guy since I don't spend my time farming (severe case of altitis). Right now, I make around 17-20 mill in about 10 minutes doing that map and it's fine for my needs. Looking at the Farm Fresh guide, the most optimized farmer would make 23mill in 10 minutes so I'm not even that far off target while having a character that can do any other content no problem. I can see that attraction of having the most efficient farmer if you are looking to IO out multiple level 50ies, but I'll start by first getting a SECOND 50 on my main account first then I'll think if I want to spend all that time and energy into having a more optimized time farming
  9. what ? 4 maneuvers ? Who doesn't take Maneuvers 😮 ?
  10. I'll try to remember to come back here this evening and check it out, turns out I only check these forums while I'm at work and I don't have access to Mids on my work laptop. If you could post the full breakdown of your builds instead of just the forum code it would be better. Also, I know Titan Weapons mainly from playing a TW/Bio Scrapper a lot but I have never played Rad Armor so don't expect me to fix all the issues with the build 🙂 Have you tried looking around the Tanker forums and Reddit for potential builds for your character, between those 2 places I'm sure you'll find somebody who came up with something good. As a side not Cold is an uncommon damage type so if it's not at 90%, but at 70+ (again no mids can't see it) I don't think it would matter all that much as long as your Def is at softcap
  11. This is all that is missing for the ultimate crazy cat lady costume need it now .. .. .. .. .. cats also let me color the cats like my cat here is a picture of my cat (because I can) cats
  12. Build Momentum is not only needed it is what makes Titan Weapon tick. When you start a fight it's the first thing you press to get the ball rolling, if not you will never be able to hold aggro in any group because you will need to wait for the 2.5 second animation to happen on your first power and you won't be able to open with Whirling Smash. I'm at work right now without access to Mids but I can assure you that if the build you are looking at doesn't have Build Momentum in it, it's not a good build. As a side note, it's never a good idea to pass up on ANY build up type power in any set where you have the opportunity of taking it
  13. Your rig looks very good, all the parts seem fairly recent, the one sore thumb though that I can see is the Graphics Card. It is a model that was released in August 2012 so it's getting on 8 years old which is mostly what I would call the "End of Life" phase of hardware. While it might run modern games like RE2 Remake and GTA V, if the hardware was not properly optimized to run CoH back in the day and it didn't run it well in 2012 at the shutdown, it won't run it any better today unless some miracle driver was released. All I can suggest past getting a new, modern card (something like this will do very nicely in your build and will modernize you for the foreseeable future, easily as long as your 660 lasted you https://www.newegg.com/evga-geforce-gtx-1660-06g-p4-1067-kr/p/N82E16814487448?Item=N82E16814487448&quicklink=true ) is to make sure it's clean (free of dust build up in the heat sink and the fan fins) and the drivers are up to date from Nvidia https://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/156780 .
  14. Not really anime but I have a Cloud and Drizzt cosplay characters 😄
  15. just take O2 boost at level 2 it's not like you will be missing out on much DPS by not taking the MM attack and come back to the main build once you get max level
  16. Since you are most likely looking for something prebuilt, something like this will run CoH on max settings, and most of the games released in recent years on high setting in 1080p resolution 60fps. https://www.newegg.com/abs-computer-technologies-rogue-se-ali328/p/N82E16883102793R?&quicklink=true If you don't want to go the "Open Box" route and get something sealed, something like this will do the trick nicely https://www.newegg.com/abs-computer-technologies-mage-e-ali290/p/N82E16883102721?&quicklink=true Once you get the tower, all you will need is an monitor, a keyboard and a mouse to get the ball rolling. Usually a 1080p monitor in the 100-150$ range will be just fine for general purpose gaming. Something like this should be good https://www.newegg.ca/benq-gw2480-24-full-hd/p/N82E16824014466?Item=N82E16824014466
  17. tanker buffs have been here for a week, bro
  18. You do you Boo, just seems to me that if you sold all that stuff you would have more inf to buy the stuff on the alts when you needed it. I just can't stand rummaging through boxes of crap when I can look through a sorted interface on the /ah
  19. Ill just craft it and sell it. If I end up needing it for an uncreated alt in 3 months ill rebuy it for marginally more money that I sold it for, the prices for these things is pretty stable, all you are losing on is the auction house tax
  20. RP aside, the population on redside is about 20% (at best) what it is on blue side. There are ways to freely change from 1 side to the other but expect to not find groups very fast if you are exclusively red side. Which is a shame because I personally like red side better but I like to find groups in a timely manner even more than the scenery on red
  21. Nothing for me. I sell everything be it salvage, recipes or anything else. That way if I want something I just go buy it instead of looking through boxes of garbage laying around in my SG base
  22. Have a look at War Mace for your secondary, it pairs real well thematically with Shield Defence and it is a load of fun since the tanker changes. You have 3 great AoE attacks and a bunch of ST attacks with one of them having a knock up effect.
  23. For your first character I would recommend a melee type character because they are the most robust so you will be able to absorb more mistakes you would make compared to if you played a ranged squishy type (If you want to play ranged though, there is a robust ranged type called the Sentinel). Tankers, Brutes, Scrappers and Stalkers are somewhat more forgiving archtypes to play ( I personally find playing melee more enjoyable than playing ranged ) Only thing I would advice you to stay away from at least to start, not that they aren't viable in any sense just more complicated, are Masterminds, Peacebringers and Warshades. As for what to choose in your powers, it really doesn't matter, everything is playable and can do well in a team. If you are looking to solo, once again everything is doable because you can change the difficulty on the fly with some options in the interface menu. Honestly, just choose what you thing is coolest ! Once you have a grasp on the game mechanics and builds, what does what you can start looking at more specialized characters and such. Once again though, everything is playable, everything can do well, there is no meta, there is no gear you need to farm. You can do a Task Force with 8 defenders and it will work fine. You can do a taskforce with no heals and it will do fine. You can do a task force with no tank and it will do fine. This is the beauty of CoH: Everything goes, just play what you like
