Greetings once again all!

Since Homecoming has come out with new IOs, new Archetype (Sentinel), and a new powerset (Electrical Affinity), I'm curious if there's any thoughts/attempts at a possible new MM primary?

Masterminds have the least amount of Primary powersets to choose from, with one being considered the worst primary of any Archetype (Mercs).

What's some of your thoughts/ideas/wishlists for a new primary?

I know Positron hated the idea, but I have always dreams of a clown set.

And this is ALWAYS a great idea!

Building off of the tech from Illusion Control’s Phantom Army design, a play on Multiple Man/Jamie Madrox. For when you *really* want to see you costume all the time...

MM pet customization > a new MM set.

Why?  Because mercs can become disgrunted office workers.  thugs can become clowns.  demons can become fapbait.  ninjas can become your 6way senran kagura fantasy.  zombies can become your ES4: Oblivion Fantasy.  Beasts can become your savage assault catgirl fantasy.  huh the last couple became redundant.

my point being let us customize our minions into bouncing breast and butt physics FO4 assaultron robots

Bee Swarms

I picture a Melee set similar to Beasts

Minion level trio does slows and DOT attacks (poison)

LT Level does, I dunno, more poison and immobs?

Boss Level Fear Aura (or Confuse, you get to pick) for sure, relentless attacks

  • Victory: reserved for future use

  • Torchbearer: Phrendon Largo, Kenny Letter,  Bewm, La Merle, Enflambe', Rock Largo, Bulk of the Weather, Retired Phrendon

As a poster said above, I think many of these could be rolled up under pet appearance customization.

That also said, some mechanically cannot, and it would be nice to have a new set or two that has a wide range of appeal.

I've said 'duplicates' but for a totally new set, I'd like to see Elementals / Enchanted Items, such as you see in Night Ward. The assets are already there. Low hanging fruit and all that 🙂

An elven and a dwarven set would be great.

Elven set: primary ranged magic and/or bow but squishy

Dwarven set: Melee only but very tanky

I wouldn't do a separate elven and dwarven set;  Instead, I'd love to see a set themed around high fantasy - something like knights/footmen as your T1s, archers/rangers as your T2s, and a wizard or cleric as your T3.  Have the direct attack powers be something like a broadsword, mace, or great sword, and the unique powerset ability be something like a battle standard/banner that buffs your minions and nearby allies.

Alternatively, instead of the melee attacks for the MM themselves, make the T3 a cleric, and give the set "magic" attacks.  I'm thinking something like "magic missiles" (modified power bolt without the knockdown, and some other effect instead), a lightning bolt or freeze ray, and a fireball.

It's all fun and games until someone sends in killer clowns from outer space 😳😀

Great concept for pets, great movie. Perfect combination!

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this yet, but why not have a primary where you summon mutants like the outcasts? You can then intersperse the summons with psychic attacks. Hell it certainly wouldn't be the first primary directly inspired by an X-Men character *cough* Wolverine. Wheelchairs of course not included.

A fantasy set, 3 archers, 2 knights, and a wizard.

Has "Goblin Horde" power like Thug War, but, uses skins from Red caps.

Archers would be ranged with arrow attacks plus web arrow and in melee have sword slash attack.

Knights would be all melee with heals like Grave Knights.

Wizard would be all ranged attacks (fire, cold, electric) and buffs.

Primary would be spells cast at lvl 1, 2, 8.

Call Archers at lvl 1, Summon Knights at lvl 12, and Invoke Wizard at 26.

Weapon training at lvl 6 and Enchant at lvl 32. Goblin Horde at lvl 18.

Just because I'm a nerd, I'll chime on this one. Couple of suggestions 😄

Tier 1 (Summon Adventurer)

Archer, Archer and Rogue (Rogue is a stalker with dual blades)

Tier 2 (Summon Warriors)

Knight and Paladin (Knight specializes in buff auras, Paladin has heal auras)

Tier 3 (Summon Warlock)

Warlock (mix of damage and some control, ala Demon Prince)

That's cool, honestly I just want Goblin Horde. Make it perma and have the lil buggers swarming everything.

I think the new COH 2.0 will be just that..

Powers that you pick where they come from.. So there will be Powers Sets but where they originate from will be customization.

Masterminds might be more like Tech, Natural, Magic, Mutation.. ETC..

So Tech would have Robots like classic, Or have Cyborgs, or other mechanical  models.  The also might make robots power placement customizable as well. So missile swarm can come from a shoulder mounted pack or bursting out of chest or some super soaker gun.

Gimme an insects pet set please I want to order my giant stag beetle into battle.

I'd like to see themed beast sets based on clade (Mammals, Arthropoda, Reptilia, etc.) or biome (forest, desert, jungle, etc.). Or a range of beasts you could select from. Like, I'd rather have bears than lions.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned a Pirates set. You would basically have your own pirate crew, with a mixed of ranged (flintlocks, blunderbusses, etc.) and melee (cutlasses), maybe even a power that lets you summon a cannon.
