  1. I'd have looked in the PVP section, but I don't have a build for it. 🙂
  2. Yeah, I like doing things like that. I also wish there were more missions with "Don't attract attention!" conditions like ... pretty sure it's Levantra's (the "strange case of arnold decker" arc, I believe.)
  3. 1. Has anyone intentionally run this (or even just one of the pair) without Alpha slotted? Yes, there's a level drop for you. But for someone looking for a challenge... or with the right team... 2. With the above, is it necessarily just alpha? If you deliberately unslot Alpha but leave Lore and Destiny at t3 or t4, are you just slightly less debuffed?
  4. 4 points handles most content. 8 is what I aimed for on, say, my fire tanks with no KB protection inherent to them. Past that, depends what you plan to go after. I believe PVP has its own preferred levels, for instance.
  5. 1. Should all archetypes be able to solo? Yes. And all of them can. More to the point, all *powersets* can. This does not mean "take down an AV in 2.6 seconds." At base levels, with no fancy builds (but realistic - not "pure healer," one attack and brawl,) atll ATs and powersets can solo content not designed for teams/leagues (and even some that is, such as posi 1.) 2. Should all archetypes be able to solo at +4/8? No. That's unrealistic to expect. (And again, we have to go to *powersets,* not archetypes. There are definitely, for instance, controller builds that can solo perfectly happily at +4/8, but I highly doubt you'll find one for my Earth/FF, for instance, no matter how many purples and the like you put in, that wouldn't be an exercise in annoyance.) 3. Is there a difference in performance expectations for content below level 50 versus level 50+? Honestly... not 100% sure what you're going at here. After 50, we're hitting a degree of homogenization thanks to some of the Incarnate powers - every AT will have a nuke, pets, etc. I don't expect (again, going to my earth/ff example) every AT and every powerset to suddenly jump up to the +4/8 level casually. I expect some things to be harder. I don't think we *had* content over 50 long enough to *really* set (and balance) expectations. 4. Should players be using Invention Origin enhancements by a specific level or range? No. They should be just what they are - 100% optional. Content and expectations should not be geared around them. 5. Do players who can solo +4/8 at level 50 have an outsized impact on teams or other players? Maybe this is as intended? I'll give this a "maybe," as they're *also* most likely running incarnate abilities which have an impact of their own. So what has what impact? That said, I would *expect* someone who's dumped the INF and tweaked a build on a character to regularly solo at those levels to have more of an impact. We can't make content harder just for them, necessarily.
  6. Or you're only in once or twice a week (or have multiple characters.) Drop a bid for the set at (say) 2m per piece, wait, come back and *someone* may have listed one in your range. I can see the use. I'd prefer seeing the bugs knocked out of the AH first 🙂 but I don't have an issue with the suggestion.
  7. Mostly listing siren's because they're there - and I couldn't recall a vendor in the others, so I didn't want to muddy up the discussion when yes, I think it's annoying.
  8. 50 is ... a number. Some characters don't get played as much after it, most do. I don't generally rush for it - if I get PL'd, it's for something like just getting to the annoying forced respec on a VEAT, or getting past the low-minion-count weaker levels on a mastermind. (Or to just sit around and gab in a farm.)
  9. Honestly, I wouldn't mind the option (on occasions when it makes sense.) I think we were starting to see a little of it (see having the option to save or kill Trapdoor, for instance,) but in all honesty it would probably work better in a single player COH RPG.
  10. There are PVP specific jetpacks and the like (purchaseable in the arena, Siren's... don't recall if they're in the other zones.) They're still available to anyone. But yes, it's a bit annoying. *shrug*
  11. Yeah, they've been around for a while. All for adding more options to it though.
  12. Non-Kheld-mission Nictus... I think most of the missions are blueside that mantion them. Cimerora/ITF, obviously (which... would make for some interesting Nictus storylines,) but aside from that, there's the Portal corp missions to War Wolf Earth (which is Requiem "winning," the War Wolves being the result,) a tip or morality mission to stop a Nictus shadow seed carrier, Moonfire, of course... I think SHelly Percy's mission is the one that grants you temporary "nictus" powers (more like makes you a Galaxy.)
  13. 1 total or 1 per server? I'm perfectly happy to server hop for more slots. I did it back when we only had 8 on live. Can we have multiple accounts? Because I'd probably end up with ... many accounts. Which ... I also did back on live. Do we still have 3 builds at 50? If I had to stick to one, probably Cat Grey, my Warshade, since she gives me flexibility. Some control, some ranged damage, ability to tank, Kheld gameplay (including quantums,) but I'd probably also rarely be on.
  14. This. Just to verify something didn't break really recently, I hopped on one of my sonics. All the lowbies standing by Libs in AP got buffed when I buffed one.
  15. Eh. I never strip characters completely, so I'd probably never use it, but I'm not against it either.
  16. I'd say this is probably a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. Not everyone comes to the forum, or reads the GMOTD (which, after all, you see... once?) The GMOTD is probably where it *should* be. But one way or the other someone would complain about missing it, while someone else would complain about seeing it too much, wherever you put it. I don't think I was on when they did it, but it probably uses an admin channel (which would also be used for things like servers going down and the like,) and by default goes everywhere because it's an admin channel and you're not *supposed* to be able to ignore it. Whether it's the best choice or not... I don't know. Like I said, probably a no-win whatever they do.
  17. ... I completely read this as you calling Penny Yin a sparkly ball of psionic fluff. 🙂
  18. I'd be surprised if they're in AE right now - it takes a bit for things to get in there, typically, which was true even on live. (Though, obviously, I haven't looked for them since the issue launch.)
  19. One of the Night Ward ones, working for the spell council. Forgetting the actual name, but it's where they want you to find out why a bunch of spells got upgraded and you fight the last man on earth.
  20. It'd be fairly useless as a *mission* map, but for a few other uses - the destroyed plane (map name IOM DESTROYED PLANE) would be a nice map to have.
  21. It is a bit of extrapolation, and I acknowledged that. That said, it's hard to argue that "who can be mezzed" *is* becoming a smaller and smaller circle - not even of specific ATs, but of powersets inside those ATs, and then of course Clarion's effects. Which are, granted, temporary... but given how much Incarnate content is also league-size content, that temporary-ness is offset somewhat (and that's ignoring that whatever might mez *you* has an entire league's worth of targets to choose from as well, making it less likely that you'll be that target. After all, that's kind of the point - or one of them - of tanks on teams, as well - to gain that attention and push through it so that your squishies don't have to. The tank becomes almost literal mez *protection* for everyone else.) The ramp up ... hmm. Is an interesting idea. I don't think it would have a huge impact on *my* playstyle, since where it ramps up is probably where I"m in a longer fight and would hit domination anyway (or, hey, teamed and the mez love is getting passed around) but it wouldn't be detrimental either. I'd be interested in seeing what it does on test, at the very least.
  22. At that point, the remaining ATs have part-time (Defiance leaving certain powers free to use, Khelds having a few options) or set-dependent (most of the remaining squishy-classes having access to FF or Sonic, at least) mez protection. Do we start having the "why is mez only affecting some percent of these ATs" argument then? Do we start talking about removing NPC mez from the game - or alternatively jacking it up to such high levels chasing certain builds or having specific sets on a team is required? Yes, I know, "oh no, slippery slope, can't say that," but just because it has a name doesn't mean it's necessarily false. The arguments for removing it from the others at that point grow. Especially with access to it for everyone once we hit incarnates, so it's not just this specific comment that leads me to bring it up. Mez's binary-ness in the game has been a discussion for a while now, after all. Does the whole control system need a rework - both NPC and player side? And what kind of rework would *work* and keep things interesting without being able to be completely invalidated and bypassed with a few IOs?
