Use your controls better than that.

Incarnate squishies, do you autofire Clarion or Hasten?
Greycat replied to cohRock's topic in General Discussion
Neither. I rarely have hasten, for one, and clarion.. eh. -
Given I play without it and don't have issues with my doms survivability... no, it won't. Use your controls. The fact this statement has been made tells me too many people rely on permadom as a crutch.
-
I think dominators are fine, in general. They don't need nukes. I'd be perfectly fine with people never being able to permadom on their own, though. Make friends with a kin or three if you want it that bad. Absolutely zero of mine are perma, zero of mine on live were perma, zero of mine will be perma. On a team, it's up and ready enough. Solo, I like the gameplay of deciding if/when to use it. And for all those buffs/debuffs for controllers, doms solo better, and don't have to worry that they picked a secondary that's just not needed or particularly useful in the later game.

Tell me about your favorite psychic character!

Mind/fire dom. Always. -
It... does already? So, wish granted? (This is the result of using LRT next to Jenny Adair in the south of Talos, for example.)

Leading by Example! The Commander (Pet/Armor AT)
Greycat replied to dangeraaron10's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm thinking this might be a place to .. perhaps fit in something suggested for masterminds on occasion. Since your pets are acting as offense as well as "health" (in that something attacking them is not attacking you, despite you having threat generation,) your armor value would *de*crease slightly with each pet you have. If you have none, you're at your maximum value (and are basically... well, not a scrapper, but can stand alone, soemwhat.) Have all your pets? You lose some armor percentage. One dies? You get some back. This would also help with the early - mid game when you have fewer pets (and when MMs, to me, are most frustrating.) (Minor tweak to it for your version of soul extraction, with a buff for X time due to the health cost.) Not going into numbers, since I"m not a numbers person. Would I play it? Well... yes, since I make alts. Many, many alts. I don't know that it would be a go-to AT for me, but that's only from not really being able to picture how I'd play it yet. -
Looks like a power button symbol to me, somewhat.

It's all technology, since they exist in a video game. *nods*

Auction House fees: is there any point?
Greycat replied to Shenanigunner's topic in General Discussion
There has to be *something* to destroy inf. There are only so many costumes to change. -
Move most starting costume slots to P2W
Greycat replied to Replacement's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Chewed on this a bit. I think if this were added to the game, I'd pick it up at or after level 4-6 and picking up a travel power, since it's an annoyance to have to go in to each one and set it to noFX (or whatever.) I'd personally rather have a UI element - just a checkbox that says "propagate across all costumes" for specific changes. But I'd probably use this. *shrug* -
Though it should be noted the Red Caps have tended to scale to 50, since they're also used in the winter and valentines events. Frigging red caps.

"The Game is not Balanced around IO's"..... should it be?
Greycat replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in General Discussion
... no. Don't take the wrong conclusion from that. There's no "instead" for me. I team when I feel like teaming. I solo when I don't. If I'm finding myself awake at 2 AM, I'll generally ignore teams and do my thing. If I feel like soloing, I'll solo. If a task force comes out that sounds interesting, I'll hop on. There's not an instead or or there. I can and will gripe about some content being trivialized, yes - just look at my posting history. I think dropping the "rule of 5" down to a "rule of 3" for set bonuses (and throwing LOTG in with the rest of the recharge) would be a huge, yet unpopular, help for the game. But it won't *stop* me from teaming. The only thing that determines if I'm teaming or not at any particular time (since it's perfectly easy to post "level eleventyseven blastronker running missions, 7 spots" in LFG) is if I feel like doing so. -
"The Game is not Balanced around IO's"..... should it be?
Greycat replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in General Discussion
Er... as someone who quite happily solos, no, I do not want to be able to "solo all the things." I understand there are things I should not be able to solo on a basic build (I'm not going to take my on-SOs earth/rad at 25 and solo GMs.) I'm fine with that. And I *also* end up concerned with power creep. If my soloability takes a hit, my attitude is not going to be "so be it." So please don't assume that I, or people like me, have the attitude you described in your post. MMO does not stand for "Must-team Mulitplayer Only." And just because people *can* make high-end builds that can solo everything does not mean that everyone, or even most people, will, or that it will suddenly make people not want to team. People team to get help with content or run multiplayer-designed content (task/strike forces, trials, etc,) this is true. But they also team to *be with and talk to other people.* I mean, that's kind of a big help for RP, for one... Edit: In fact, mentioning power creep, it's one of the reasons I (the "I don't make 'builds' type, that doesn't care for permadom and who doesn't tend to do multi-billion inf capped-everything builds) solo, when I do. I want to take things at my own pace, not sit there and watch as every mission is demolished in 3 minutes or less. -
... there are very few characters who can or should just be looked at as "damage range." That melee damage *generally* also comes with survivability and some degree of aggro management. Melee will get a higher HP pool, armor and mez protection because they do have to *get into* melee. Also can't think of anything off the top of my head which *requires* ranged damage, other than during a hami raid perhaps.

If you turn knockBACK (which knocks enemies down as well as moving them back some distance) to knockDOWN (which just knocks them down where they currently are, which means a lack of travel time and thus a return to being threatening sooner) , as you just described again, you are taking something away. I then have to slot to get the current, perfectly fine functionality back. Something I would not have to do if it were *not* taken away. And you obviously do not understand knockback and how it's implemented in the game, as you would not need "a proc" to do so. Knockdown is a lower magnitude (and less useful) knockback. You would have to put in... a generic or set knockback enhancement. HOWEVER, as I just said in what I think is a fairly obvious way, making that a global requirement in order to get to *current* (knockback) functionality means *you would be taking something away,* yes. If you *have* something now, and that thing no longer exists or you must do something special or extra to get it back, it has been taken away. It's not a difficult concept. As for complaints about power descriptions? Yes, they end up not getting updated and at times are not the greatest. Updating them for accuracy would be good.

Please increase the number of Carnival mobs in Peregrine
Greycat replied to RikOz's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
... look between the buildings. I see quite a few of them. And yes, "recently." Mostly through the middle section of the island. -
Because knockback is fine. I don't want something I use for positioning and defense globally taken away. Frankly I think most of the KB complaining is knee jerk reactions. Yes, some people use it poorly. They need to learn not to. The only time I'll agree that KB should universally be gone is when an NPC "ally," especially a pet, uses it, because they don't put any thought into how it's being used. All they do is "gee, I can shoot that now, I'm going to." People should put more thought into it than that, no matter what they're playing.. If I'm on a team and someone tells me to slot an IO, I'll tell them where they can slot it.

And I'm going to say it again - *Hell No.*

Please increase the number of Carnival mobs in Peregrine
Greycat replied to RikOz's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Actually, if you go south of the tram, along the woods and the like, you'll find some good size spawns as well. (As well as the cabin 'behind' the tram.) North, not so much. -
Same days/hours we had before are good for me.

Kheldian powersets for AE custom NPCs
Greycat replied to AngryJesusMan's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I *want* to say they're part of high level PPD, but I may be misremembering that. Plus, I want a Nictus in "angry cloud of evil" form for a contact in AE. -
Please increase the number of Carnival mobs in Peregrine
Greycat replied to RikOz's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I don't know, they spawn in pretty good size mobs. The only trick with them is that they show up at night and vanish during the day (fairly standard, same with the spectral pirates in Port Oakes.) -

Pfft. It makes sense for them to have large numbers visible. They *are* a marching band, after all... Marching band members or Nemesis invasion?
