  1. Debt cap reduced... I remember going to a hami raid and going from 0 to... I think it was 1.1 million (cap.) Also running out of missions by 37 or 38 (blaster. Lots of debt to work through on the way up.) Also, I do recall it was changed so you could not be one-hit-killed. (Though some attacks have two components, like (IIRC) Rikti swords, that counted as two "attacks," one - for instance - energy, one lethal.) In part due to people doing things like TPing people just off the edge of a skyscraper. Other changes - Rest has essentially no recharge. Brawl has no END cost.
  2. Nope. Quite a few people know there *was.* And it's part of the argument saying "it may not do what you want." The name release script was run twice. The first time run affected characters 34 and under. The second time it was - as I recall level 5 or 6 and under, since that was where the majority of "freed" names were. It was a script that had to be run manually. It was not run after the second time because it didn't really have a very big impact at all. (There was no "rush" of suddenly freed names people wanted, in other words.) Also, better to use either the legacy paragonwiki or the HC version, they're more up to date. There are a few others floating out there (wikia's the worst) that can be *really* wrong or out of date.
  3. Here we go. Got to 17 (focused accuracy too!) simultaneous toggles. Ran out of END while trying to take the screenshot. (over on test, no enhancements.) End consumption, 4.99/sec Toggle list: Rad melee Irradiated ground Dark armor Dark Embrace Death Shroud Murky Cloud Obsidian Shield Cloak of Darkness Cloak of Fear Oppressive Gloom Pool and other powers Sprint Combat Jumping Acrobatics Maneuvers Assault Tactics Tough Weave Focused Accuracy Powers I took because I had to (or had nothing else to take) : Contaminated Strike Devastating Blow Atom Smasher Dark Regeneration Super Jump (which probably would have used more END... hmm... just can't run it with CJ.) .... wait. I could run CJ alongside Super Speed to make 18 toggles. Kick Conserve Power Physical Perfection.
  4. And radiation, staff or spines... Oh. Have to go leaping. Add Acrobatics there!
  5. Hmm. I'd think Dark armor would be the place to start, add in Fighting (tough/weave,) travel power (that can run alongside sprint, so count two there,) and leadership. I know someone's probably run one previously. The above is my guess, though.
  6. That's ... frankly shortsighted, selfish, uninformed and rude. Not all people know they're going to be prone to seizures. Not everyone has the same triggers. Not everyone has run into them. Should kids not watch cartoons either? (Look up Pokemon and the surprise it had for... how many kids in Japan was it?) Hell. Just with THIS game, there are examples. Sonic came out, it started triggering migraines in people. It started giving *ME* mild headaches, and I have *never* had, or been diagnosed with, anything like migraines. Still haven't. Friends who had been playing since launch, and played other games for years, had to suddenly stop and deal with their migranes. Their lives would be disrupted, sometimes for better than a day, because of something suddenly introduced into a game they were fine with until that point. When the Sonic graphics were finally revised? In the middle of a bunch of ... I'm not going to say what I think of them ... saying "oh, orange makes me sick" in order to *mock* the people who had migraines getting triggered, was one person who *actually did* have an issue that had gone completely undiagnosed until then, but the issue was triggered by the graphics in the large Sonic bubble. (And yes, you could tell the difference between the people just trying to cause trouble and the person who actually DID have issues with the new graphics.) We started discussing it. Then he'd talked to his girlfriend (or fiance', don't recall) who pointed out he'd also had some sort of episode with the ... opening, I think.. .of the Saw movie. He went to a neurologist and got tested. And yes, certain graphics were triggering issues for *him.* He had no idea, and had been playing games for years without encountering it. Should he have never been playing COH? Or any video game? Should he have started avoiding movies all together on the off chance another would have a similar graphic? Because that's what you're saying in your post. So, no, what you feel "needs" to be said? It's only what's being said, I *hope,* out of *misunderstanding* and *misinformation.* It is not "simple logic" if you haven't been exposed to whatever triggers a condition. People can play video games for *years* and not run across a certain combination, frequency or type of graphic that causes them problems. And, frankly, games developers (and anyone else in visual media) should damn well KNOW by now the sort of things that trigger fits and episodes and AVOID them. It's not new information. As far as cyberpunk? I've watched some playthroughs. And while they don't bother me, yes, there are some graphics that should have been obvious to a five year old that they would have caused problems - and should *never* have gotten past an experienced development team like CDPR. And if I sound a bit pissed off writing this reply? I *am.* Because people I know and love have been hurt in this in the past and had other .... individuals-resembling-specific-orifices *mock* them for it. And I will *not* put up with it from people without very bluntly speaking my mind. Saying - or implying, rather - that they should have no right to have the game changed to *not cause them pain,* that they should just shut up and leave... I'm hoping your post was simply out of misinformation and you "get it" now. Or you sit down and think about it for a bit and then get it. One of them, because I generally enjoy interacting with you. Understand, I'm *seriously angry* at the ideas presented as well as how that was done, and trying to put that across without it turning ... attackish. No, I won't be returning to the thread, because yes, right now the *thought* of re-reading that and remembering how it's affected people - and the attitude shown in the post throws at them and people like them - has me so incredibly *pissed off* that I frankly don't want to revisit it or discuss it further. And my apologies ahead of time to any mods. But this is a *particularly* sore subject with history for me. Did try to watch my phrasing.
  7. So - are you insinuating that, somehow, the small number of players we have here (and have had, by comparison) over the shorter time frame HC has been around is making anything equal to the same number of characters? Even as "name holders?" That's how your reply's reading to me. I mean, when they released information, they were talking 43 million characters made. 500,000 accounts at level 50. Granted, when the scripts were run, the numbers were a little smaller, but I *highly* doubt we have even half that many here. Even with being able to "make a ton of characters, and make as many accounts as we want." No, it's not a fair comparison - for the exact reasons I said. Even with BM's points, Live had a *long* stretch and far more people to make far more characters.
  8. Because they used to just stick out of wherever they were. Remember planking? They'd do that with walls. Train tracks. One toe holding them completely horizontal off a ledge. Which, honestly, was quite impressive. So this was an... upgrade.
  9. The following zones have had their beacons removed: Echo: Dark Astoria These beacons will now be directed to Dark Astoria Echo: Galaxy City These beacons have been destroyed by an energy spike of unknown origin Note: Both of these zones can still be accessed through Ouroboros And (at least in the beta notes) - A strange energy spike in Galaxy City reached the old Supergroup Portal and caused a cascade overload in the entire Teleport network. Most of the damage has been repaired, but destinations in temporal flux have been lost to the past. So that's the "in game" reason. But there was discussion elsewhere. From Faultline (dev): Personally, I'd like them back as well, but it was more a nicety than a theme for me.
  10. "Solo an AV" is an edge case. It's like saying "Car tires shouldn't wear out as fast as they do. Run your car at 200mph on a track for 24 hours and find out the hard way." Yes, some builds can. Yes, with IOs it's easier. But "Solo an AV" is not what masterminds, or any other AT, were designed around - so if it takes more to do so and you have to resummon more often? *No Kidding you have to.* Sky's blue and water's wet, too.* Besides, you're throwing out moving targets. First, you're somehow still standing at the door in your first post, summoning and buffing, while the team's "halfway through the map," then you're resummoning apparently every single time you lose a T1, which is frankly not necessary, and now you're saying soloing AVs is the baseline for determining if something's a "chore" or not? Which is it? If you're soloing an AV, your team's not halfway across the map, and you're not standing at the doorway, after all (unless you're running off on your own, in which case, don't do that.) Give us whatever scenario is really bugging you and stick with it, because right now it's not helping make your case at *all.* *Edit: And I'm saying this as someone who accidentally soloed one (granted, just countess crey) on live with a thugs/poison. Yep, had to keep resummoning. Wasn't exactly a surprise.
  11. AT: Whatever you want to play. Naming rule: None, really.
  12. ... I used to know this. I don't recall if it was Angus ... what's his last name, mcqueen? or not. Think he's a bit late. (Founders Falls.) Edit: Steven Sheridan, THe Organ Grinders, gives you omega level clearance where you learn this. If you don't learn it there, you do through talking with the Dark Watcher during Levantra's arc in the RWZ. Angus's arcs, I think, have changed since the RWZ took over from the RCS.
  13. That playerbase also had *years* of accounts - and far *more* acounts (180,000 active subscribers at peak - or active accounts - with some obviously inactive before and after that.) And I can't find the anniversary post with how many million characters there were. So, no, it's not, really - unless you think everyone is running (or sitting on) several hundred characters. We have a *long* way to go before hitting those numbers. And the effects of the script were - well, as described.
  14. I have put a quartermaster in the base for all your TO-buying needs as well. (Issue0-18202)
  15. It's not *fast* (58 seconds on my attempt) but a Warshade in Dwarf makes it a literal "run" that's amusing on its own.
  16. Fun with Shadow Slip (The warshade PBAOE TP.) Fighting two Zeus titans. They split up. I hit Shadow Slip. "Where'd that other titan go?" Zoom out a little. "Oh..."
  17. So, thoughts after tonight: - I'm *WAY* too used to having the temp Sands of Mu. I kept looking for it. - My blaster's more survivable than she was back in the day, thanks to Defiance 2.0. Mez is harder to notice since I'm able to shoot through it. - Combining insps: Ignore or just take it as part of the game? I was chewing some I didn't need so stuff I *could* use might drop. - Blast from the past: "You are getting too far from your mentor." "Your mentor is too far away!" (I'm tempted to put those in as local chat macros.) Edit: Thinking this'll be the 40 "build." (Granted, I usually am just grabbing powers... trying to grab them the way I did back then. Presence pool substituting for fitness picks. Also need to update to deal with electric and teleport changes, but eh. ) http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1302&c=523&a=1046&f=HEX&dc=78DA6D93DB4EDB401086D7598734A712130E09E1146842C585A190F6B6522954551B0951A45E5A96631297951D1923C1252FD437EBE10DDC89F7B76B3B5929F9D6FFCECC3FBB5E0F1F3FD67E7E7A7ECF94FAB930EFEF8D0FF41FD87E71688E1D8BD1A8DC4C6CDF37F74EEF06257ADC4580716DBA637BA45F08DB0A7CC732854C7D1DAF7F7B984E3D3F48029CE0C9189AAE337D1066E078AEF6D9A5C2B61BE8F164E5CAF3847E630B7B96288322299D568D944BE18C2748B8F47CCB36BC5BE3BB23847631752CFDDC1323329BF5F1D4A2A6FBF43B66F108D5082A67052EF9027C09EE2C498E16E4A89AE412622BE0AB9AE4094191394525E793CFD941AD43F8E9040E3F1EFBE57A6CC47E0DC91EBD95A2CC614568A78412B4123CDA2494A195431AEC8CE655B855E156E35936F29D5295BACC51EA259C1A5C37E979190ECB91C380E61A1C3438ACF02C0FAA201C3A54A5892ACDA8CA98E66B52E16BA8B2CEB33C046F091B88DD407F2D9C6E0B317DF02DA18DD836EA6EF22CE3BA3F081DECA483D82D9E65377E33EB9213C23676B28DDDBD9B7D42B81DBBA8B3C717B38B9C2EFABF23EC47772B54F6A11D8082D093750B3D96DD671F271C2E185B6A72C3597CC3BB6A7C85C3F0CB51B21E1EA563A3377332A7BC9953CEE694C19CF235AD346517576AF21D31258A2A3792AF23FC55A15505ABC8F893D62A52FB9DD6A22A7FFF2B0505A7B79AE33FD47CC875
  18. Yeah. I'm planning on putting "useful" ones in email (or, hey, sending them to another character.) I don't know that common salvage is going to make as big a difference between selling at a vendor and selling cheap on the market. My rares are going into the vault (don't forget there's a link to the vault reserve right in the corner of the salvage window.) Also, eesh, fighting Tsoo at these restrictions... 😄
  19. Mini-guide: The Attributes window (Note. This is a repost from way back on live. But, the window itself is a useful little tool, and a quick search didn't bring up anything on it in the guides, so... here we go. I've also made some modifications for some things that have changed since then.) "How do I get that little window that shows power levels, defense and stuff?" If that's what you're asking, you've come to the right guide. If you don't know what I'm talking about? It's a little window like this: No, it's not there by default. You have to set it up yourself, per character. How do I get that window? That's the easy part. In game: 1. Click on "Powers." Your power list will come up. 2. In the upper left of that power window, click on "Combat Attributes." This will open up a new window. In it, you should see seven categories: Base Movement Damage Resistance Defense Debuff Resistance Status Effect Protection Status Effect Resistence Each of these categories can be expanded to show you more selections. 3. When you see what you want to monitor - you can have several items visible - right click on the item. On the menu that comes up, pick "Monitor (whatever it is.)" 4. When you're done... close the combat attributes window. You can left click anywhere in the new little window you have and drag it around. Questions: 1. What do I find where? "Base" covers a lot of the things many people want to see - current and max HP and Endurance, Stealth, some bonuses, XP needed, debt, and influence among them. Movement covers movement speeds, and so forth. Click through and look - it's a long list. 2. What if I select more than 10 things? The oldest thing you selected - at the top - will scroll off the list. 10's the limit by default. 3. How do I rearrange these? Right click in the little window you just created, right on top of whatever you want to move. You will have choices to "Move up" or "Move down." 4. I don't want to see X any more. How do I get rid of one of the lines? Right click on the item you want to stop watching, and select "Stop monitoring (item.)" 5. I don't want any of it any more! How do I get rid of it? Right click in the window, pick "Stop monitoring all." 6. What's a good layout? This totally epends on you. What do you want to watch? For me, I'll often have: Current hit points (Possibly) Current endurance Level Shift XP to next level Influence ... and add what I need to it. A Brute might want to see the Damage Bonus from Fury, for instance. A Stalker might want their Stealth radius (PVP) - while someone hunting one might want Perception Radius. What you add, however, is totally up to you. There are also items I'll add situationally - such as when facing the rogue Vanguard in the RWZ arcs or doing the Honoree portion of Mender Ramiel's unlock, I'll put in *max* Endurance. Why? They can hit you with the Curse of Weariness, which cuts your END pool in half (and which is when you should use the curse breaker, available in the RWZ for - I think 250 V-merits.) The attributes window is useful without the floating monitor, by the way! Want to check where you're getting certain bonuses (and how big of a buff from each?) Open up the combat attributes window and expand what you're interested in, such as defense. Here's what my elec/elec Sentinel looks like: See those repeated bonuses? Not only can I tell if I'm at five and should look for something else, but I can somewhat tell the source. (She has several sets of Thunderstrikes.) If you don't want to see the sources, just the totals (to clean up the window or see more at a glance,) right click and "hide sources." (Oh, and here's her floating window I keep open... to see what one of my HC characters is like.) Hopefully it helps, for those interested in numbers - or just keeping track if you've got all your level shifts or not 🙂 Enjoy!
  20. To all those looking here, I say...

    What'chu lookin' at, Willis?

    🙂

  21. Honestly, I think all the maps could probably use a little sharpening up. (And clarifying of neighborhoods in some... *cough*Croatoa*cough*)
  22. Closest we have is this comment in another thread:
  23. ... don't resummon that often? And if you're dead and your team has moved on, there are bigger problems than resummoning a pet. (Besides, if you're dead, your other pets are not taking damage - they die when you do. There may be an exception - I don't recall if Necro's ghost hangs around or not - but your T1, T2, and T3 pets die.) And to test - fired up a MM. Took 9 seconds from no pets to all pets - you don't have to wait for the animation to finish, after all. To buff? ~4 seconds. (Again, you don't have to wait for the animation to finish before hitting the next buff and starting to move.) So here's what you do: - Other than low levels, don't worry about your T1s. Past... oh, 20, they're cannon fodder anyway. Don't resummon T1s every time one dies. The only time to worry about one dying is with Necro, and that's just to summon the ghost. - Worried about not keeping up with the team? Stay with them. Keep them buffed. Summon and buff your pets as you go. - Don't wait for animation times to finish. You don't need to.
  24. I'm not shooting down anything. I'm just pointing out that that tracker isn't necessarily accurate.
  25. I'm ... confused with calling the buffs time consuming. It takes longer to *summon* the pets than to buff them all. You hit two buttons once and they're fully upgraded. It's pretty quick.
