  1. So how much of a reduction in strength are you willing to give for that big of a cut in recharge?
  2. The ship on these incarnate powers sailed *Long* ago. Personally, I think after Alpha they should've been much lower powered outside of Incarnate content, but... *shrug* It is what it is, and 5 minute ITFs are a norm.
  3. The only things I can point out to people wanting to delete characters due to changes are: 1. Things will keep changing. 2. You have 1000 slots. Shelving? Sure. Put it away a while. Much easier to unretire than recreate. 🙂
  4. Er... no. Some individual sleep powers (such as salt crystals) need a rework, sure. That one's been skippable since live. Sleep as a whole... not so much. You'll find a lot of annoying defenses, especially those that use dispersion bubbles, are vulnerable to sleep. Hold bounces off status protection? Use a sleep. Even if the NPC is attacked immediately after, breaking the sleep, there's a delay until they can recast that. On my mind control characters, sleep is pretty much useful through their entire career, from Posi 1's ruin mages through MLTF/RecTFs and putting chained AVs to sleep with no fuss. And that's without IO shenanigans. Yes, I know, theoretical person - "but my eleventy billion INF super purpule IO'd out ignores their defenses and blah blah blah" - that's not everyone. That's not even everyone on the forum. And doesn't affect all the content. Sleeps are far more useful than are being portrayed here.
  5. They tried breaking it once, when they were going to "redo" Patron pools, removing "unused"/"underpowered" powers and replacing them. Due to the feedback, torches and pitchforks, they started adding a fifth power instead. There may have been boiling oil or tar and feathers threatened a few times, too.
  6. My only complaint with Poison is the speed of the toss-heal. Either it needs to be faster or heal more to make up for the time it takes.
  7. Sleeps are probably underrated, actually. They take effect at times regular holds and other controls don't... I'm seeming to recall "shutting down dispersion bubbles" being one of them.. (Which makes me kind of shake my head at saying mind needs a tweak - it's a pretty powerful control set.) I wouldn't argue with a "secondary effect" - a few seconds of -acc makes sense, hard to aim while you're still yawning, for instance.
  8. Not in faultline, though I forget the level range. It's the Wheel of Destruction arc. Banished Pantheon everywhere. Unless there's another arc I'm not aware of.
  9. Wormhole's cheating somewhat.... But still fun.
  10. Shouldn't be anything to keep it from happening. All you need is something with KB (and if you're truly dedicated, lots of KB enhancement.)
  11. Possibly more noticeable outside, but if they're falling behind on your teams enough for you to notice - well, I suppose it would depend on the leash "length." It would have the side benefit of pulling the pet to you if the reason they're falling behind is getting stuck on/in geometry, as well. Edit: Though I wonder if a pet "speed buff" would also help things like group fly - though I'm thinking more MMs there.
  12. Hmm. Give them a MM-style leash? If they fall too far behind they teleport next to you? (I wouldn't *argue* with the speed increase, mind you.)
  13. Thus the "most" in my statement. (And I hate counting seekers in any attack chain. Since I've had them just float around sitting on an enemy's head without exploding through a fight. I'd be happy to drop three exploding seekers for one essence-type pet.)
  14. Might be pet specific, I'm remembering them being fairly close (barring using travel powers to cross a zone or something.) Or just my perception. *shrug* I just seem to recall them usually being there, but standing two feet behind me watching me fight.
  15. The pet *speed* is just fine. The problem is that you have to drag the pet into its aggro range - since it tends to be following you (and will sit there out of range because it doesn't "see" the targets.) Bigger issue with Ice and Earth, I think, than something like SIngularity (more ranged than malee.)
  16. To which my response tends to be "So don't knock them back every which way." Don't jump into the middle of a group and hit it. If I'm in Nova, I tend to be blasting downward if I'm on a team. Human or dwarf? From the edge inward or edge toward a wall. Single target knockback? Usually I'm focusing on a target. I knock it back (often a Quantum on a kheld,) it's mine, the tank/brute/scrapper has the rest of the group to deal with and shouldn't be complaining that I used "omg knockback!" because it's not affecting them. Just like "Don't kill the toggle anchor first," it's down to player training. Most of the KB problems are PEBKAC issues.
  17. I hated having to grind the trials when they first came out. I do not want to be forced into trials to get incarnate components. I don't generally *like* trials. No discrimination against people who prefer playing other content.
  18. Well, I've recreated Sweet Child of Mimes...
  19. Warshades gain more, but they also have to risk more (and some things, like invasions, work against them - corpses vanish too fast for some powers.) PBs are pretty self contained.
  20. I love khelds. Have since I3. I would: - want the Dwarf taunt to be the same as tanks and brutes, that is, autohit. I shouldn't be given an inherent power that's treated like a pool power for taking the form. - love to see the special damage brought back. - love to see a built in "Void killer" counter. >.> I have characters built around that. I end up losing count. - Voids as well as Qs. Other than a few special missions I don't recall seeing them recently. I would hate to see my KB altered, frankly. I use it as part of my survival. I use it as soft controls. And it makes me feel like I'm *hitting* things. There's already IOs to turn it to KD if desired. If people "want a reason to invite Khelds to teams" (other than "Hey, there's another player to have fun with!" which should be reason enough,) - turn those counters into badges. Let the team get credit too. Special name on the Kheld side, though. - Reflect the teammate type buffs back to the teammates.
  21. Piracat's back. I can make others. >.>
  22. Second, third, fourthed. I'd love to give my characters or supergroups a 1-50 arc. Can't do that in three slots while hoping for more. I've mentioned (repeatedly) not liking the VEAT story arcs. I'd love to have a remade 1-50 for *those,* which would require more than 3. Or how about "No, I really DO want to play a Nictus." Take the 'shade to redside... and completely miss arcs. Let someone (or many someones) make a path that way! Or a consistent, non lackey redside arc path! Or an actual rogue/vigilante themed path! There are plenty of reasons for wanting more slots. This is one thing I'll always go "gimme gimme" to. 🙂
  23. You're assuming "power" is the reason it's not getting played, though, from the sound of it. There can be other reasons - for instance, especially on an RP server, having one costume slot taken up by a mandatory themed costume, or having the "crab legs" appear regardless of costume (not recalling if those carry over in alternate non crab builds at the moment, either.) "WHY are people not playing this?" is the first step. (And yeah, for me it's the costume, the storyline which I ignore after level 10 and just put up with until then, and the forced respec at 24 to "choose your path" - even if you're perfectly happy with the way your build is going - see also Huntsman.)
  24. Probably wouldn't use it, but I also wouldn't argue with the option.
  25. Actually, as the person who posted the first one, it's a tongue in cheek way of saying no referencing a person who just said no to everything, and was meant to be humorous (or see if said jranger had a sense of humor. He did not.) It was a "Are you *sure* you want to be remembered this way?" to the person. It should be posted with a good, smartalec-quality half-smirk on the face. Overuse does lessen its impact. And yes, I disagree with purging this unless it's part of a general forum purge for proper maintenance reasons. I don't care if someone doesn't like an idea or it's "pie in the sky" or "Undoable." Changing sonic animations to something non-migrane-causing was declared undoable by the original dev team, who did it anyway a few months later. There are many things we've thought were undoable at one point or another. Some will be, just from how the way the game's coded. (Changing origin/powerset, for instance.) Two years from now, there might be some fundamental change that makes the dev team go "Hey, remember that thing that was asked about? We might be able to do that now, if it's a good idea." Or spark other ideas, which - while not doable the original way - are a starting point for something fun and/or unique. Tired of seeing "the same" suggestions? Then do something positive about it. Copy what I did. Have some pasta. Make said pasta neutral - no "you're wrong, and stupid for thinking this." A simple "This is not an attack. We've had this suggestion multiple times in the past. This is what we've been told by the devs. Here are some pros and cons from prior discussions. Instead of rearguing it, let's just jump forward and try to make the suggestion better or find an alternate way." Yes, the copypastas did get updated multiple times (ideas for "vehicle travel" come to mind.) No, I don't think I still have th eold ones 🙂
