  1. When it happened to me, it was not my primary character (back on live,) and hasn't affected (noticably) characters here for me. And also wouldn't have had the numbers I'd seen (at the time I noticed it, back on live, I'd been playing for *years,* and for hours pretty much daily.) Someone had an explanation back in the day about being in TF or AE mode or something, I don't recall what it was. I think @Kyksie is remembering something similar.
  2. Well, they're not that smart to begin with....
  3. Not sure if I ever posted this. I know I've thought it would be a good idea for quite some time. Heck, make a few "testing ground" instances, both offensive (you attack whatever, see how you do against various resists, regen, etc.) and defensive (see how much of a hit you can take, or how your regen does, no debt.)
  4. "Formal?" It was created to poke fun at someone who started just saying no to everything - that being the sum total of the post. (I should know, I'm the one who created it.) It's as informal, post-with-a-smirk as it gets!
  5. And to think this is the first thing that comes to mind for me when someone mentions "boomer..."
  6. Sleep should be breaking for you getting attacked as well. Sure you don't have another effect on you? And as for using it in a brawl? I'll use it if I see something armoring up, putting a PBAOE -tohit or dispersion bubble up. Shuts it right off, even if they're only "slept" for a tenth of a second. Cuts right through in most cases.
  7. Do you do that for all your content? Asking if Frostfire can be run at level 8? If Posi 1 can be done at level 8? If Manti can be run at 30? No. Nobody does that. They all show up at their minimum level and can be run at the minimum shown. Given *that* history for pretty much all other content in the game, why should *anyone* expect the LGTF to be any different when they see it at 35?
  8. It's also pretty reasonable, given that *exact same information* that you can do it at 35. Similar to the ITF, which has the same range. Will it be harder? Sure. Should it be completeable at 35 if it says it starts at 35? Yes. You shouldn't "need" someone at the top level when the game says "you have X level range which can run this." And no, you shouldn't need to "ask in help" or "do research." Also... lol, right. Because the ITF (in the same level range) is "challenging to 50s." No. It should have content appropriate and able to be completed by the whole level range, because that is the level range you run into it in. Or, it should be re-raised up to 45 if it's *not* appropriate for lower levels.
  9. ... because it's a game that's saying "hey, you can run this content you haven't done?"
  10. If they feel they need to defend their intellectual property, they will, whether or not anyone else is making money off of it - because someone farther down the road who *has* money can say "Well, they let this slide, obviously they're not interested in keeping this property/look/etc to themselves." Whether *we* (as in the homecoming team, not the players) are not-for-profit is irrelevant. The fact they've defended their copyright *is.* (As well as homecoming showing they're being reasonably proactive with doing things like generic'ing looks and names.) As far as a waste of money? They pay their lawyer for a letter, NC and HC gets the letter, HC (or NC) decides it needs to be shut down. IP defended, more cheaply than a court case. The "plus it's more ingraining these characters into culture so it's better" bit? That's like telling a working artist "oh, give me art for free so you get exposure." Exposure doesn't pay the bills. Besides, when it comes to marvel/dc/star wars/dragonball/whatever IP characters, obviously they *have* the exposure for you to be copying them. And yes, "anybody can draw anything they like for fun," but the Homecoming team isn't a bored teenager drawing in a notebook. They're operating in a much different level - where, yes, they do have to worry about these things.
  11. Eden trial. Hero - Tundra. "Tundra contols Arctic Snow and Ice." The R, however, was not under control.
  12. Well, no, you don't have to be on a high damage character. Even on a lower damage one, I can typically clear from the barn to the henge, then do spawn - static mob - spawn - static mob. It's rare they don't come along the barn or through its field. Pretty much just "watch for anything actually moving ."
  13. As mentioned, dual pistols are part of the thugs set already. Your attacks are in your primary. As far as for when any other sets are coming out? I wouldn't expect any to. We've got a small volunteer team. Even with some preexisting graphics potentially available, there's a *lot* of work that goes into a set, and unlike (say) a melee, armor or blast set, there's not much mileage to get out of a new mastermind set - only one AT would get to use it.
  14. I've ended up developing ways around some of the more annoying NPC "allies" - things like leaving Lady Jane with her babysitters (or going past then killing them from a distance) so she doesn't get a chance to go suicide somewhere. Same with the negotiators - or they get dragged back to the entrance. I hate failing a mission because the AI decided to chase a rabbit somewhere and died.
  15. It says "Uploads and livestreams." Also, this'll be nice for those occasions where you want to show something, either for a bug, a suggestion, that sort of thing.
  16. I was ... actually expecting a thread about where to get art...
  17. Eh. Honestly I don't think they need to be added to the workbench or otherwise portable. They're nice, sure. At the same time, base portals are (almost) everywhere. I'd think that's access enough. (Besides, in your specific example, I'd hope it's from being low level - and there's already a +recovery temp power you can buy.)
  18. I get them, then burn through most of it standing at PDH waiting for MSRs to start.
  19. I'd say what I did with my first 50 (also an elec/elec blaster!) but... that was back in i3 and not as helpful now. (Answer: Went from zero to 1.1 million debt in a single hami raid. :) )
  20. This is true. Which makes them perfect for "Shoot them not me!" :) My attitude with the temp pets is one of "any damage they can do, hey, I'll take it, but the distraction is more valuable."
  21. And yet this mission's listed frequently in that other thread as one of the ones people autocomplete - which is why I'm asking why and what people are doing/seeing. (And throwing in what I do.) My *guess* is either they're rushing and getting both EBs (and having to deal with them with half END from Holz's attack) or not staying away from Honoree's melee. I kite him like crazy on something like my ice/emp (who, yes, did finish this solo as well.)
  22. I don't tend to see this as a fight to be worried about. That said, I *do* do some prep work on it, and some of what I do might seem cheesy. But it works consistently for me. I also have to point out - "I don't do builds." I don't aim for capping things, perma-ing things, etc. At 50 (and I tend to run the arc right away, since to me the Incarnate XP earned on it is wasted once it auto-unlocks Alpha) I probably have a mix of sets, partial sets, and common IOs. Anyway - the way I run it: Prep work: I know it's fighting two EBs, and as stated I don't want to waste earning iXP on something that'll be auto unlocked, so I'm at base settings. I'm going for the end goal, not all the XPs. (True for the whole unlock arc. It's a "I want this over with," not a farm. Same reason I'll skip most of the enemies on the Trapdoor and 'meet us at the well' missions.) Just-in-case pickup - Nectambo's Curse Breaker. 250 vmerits. If you've run the RWZ arcs, hopefully you have this already - you'll want it in case Captain Holz's curse shot hits, because being stuck at half max END for five minutes straight *sucks.* Unless you need a break to get some coffee. Some sort of temp pet. While the extra damage is nice, I want one (or more) primarily to *eat alphas.* Shivan's free for a few minutes of work, War Wolf's from Striga if you're blueside, RV pet, HVAS (though I think that's a waste here.) in a pinch there's the reinforcement from P2W. You're going to dangle this out there as bait. Inspirations. Purples, greens, red, whatever you feel you need. Blackwand and Nem Staff from P2W if you don't have range, or not very powerful ranged ST. Running the mission: I just go ahead and clear the rikti in the first section. Cut through the tunnel to get to the second hallway where you fight Crey tanks. Then start paying attention to NPC chatter. The hallway layout does this, sort of: | ------------------ | (Short leg, long hall, then another turn.) Clear the short hall, clear most of the long hall - at this point, just before the last dogleg, you should see Rikti NPC chatter. (Repel:Invaders, I think.) I double back, usually meeting the first group as they exit the little tunnel you want through. Clear them, run back through the tunnel to the bridge - the spawn point for the "ambushes." There are 5. (If you're some powerset with trip mines? You can get a couple down between the attacks - they wait for the bodies from the last fight to fade.) They all spawn at your end of the bridge you initially passed over. THe last one's text mentions "mercy:none!" Clear them, run back to the hallway. Finish the enemies. Don't touch the debris pile glowy. That's what triggers the portals in the Honoree room. (As well as the EBs.) Clear out the - I keep thinking of it as the "stage." There'll be Rikti there, and an ambush of more rikti when you hit the far end. You'll see, if you did NOT touch the debris pile, that the room the Honoree, Holz, and the portals are in are completely empty. (Again, have trip mines? Use them along the front left and right sides of the front of the bridge. Not the bridge itself, and you can ignore the back.) Run back, click the debris, trigger the portals. Hit JUST the two (always two there are, no more, no less) in front and what few Rikti have managed to spawn in - from range. I don't want to aggro the EBs yet. (If you're traps, you won't see anything in front if you put down enough trip mines at this point. :) ) Summon the temp pet(s) in the entrance to the room, about half way. You don't want *them* aggroing either. Mastermind? Keep your real minions back out of the way. (Again, traps/devices? Set any goodies down on a preferred edge and corner first.) ST, non knockback (for sake of time, not aggro) attack on Holz from as far as possible, duck around the corner. The temp pet should be hanging out in the hall, right in line of sight for Holz. It eats their alpha, you fight, Holz goes down. Rinse, repeat for Honoree. (I'll tend to stay at range for non melee.) This tends to be the only place I need to use insps. Ignore the back portals. No XP. Unless you're feeling like seeing how many you can wipe out after that. Can be fun sometimes. Back to see Lady Grey, then fight romans and reflections.
  23. In the "What missions do you autocomplete?" thread, I kept seeing the Honoree mission from Lady Grey in Mender Ramiel's arc mentioned. And while it can be, for some characters, a hard fight, I don't think I've ever skipped or had to autocomplete it. SO, yeah, this - along with people complaining about Trapdoor - always makes me go "why?" Which is part of why I'm making the thread. What throws you? How do you run it? What makes you think this is difficult - or not? Answering this for myself and how I run it (since I think it's "tough fight sometimes but very doable") next, for comparison. (Did I write a guide on this somewhere? I kind of think I did... or planned to. Anyway.)
  24. I run it as soon as I hit 50. My characters don't tend to be "fully tricked out," and as I've mentioned elsewhere, I don't tend to do "builds" either, so if anything's capped, I'm probably running a Fire tank and Fire resist is capped (which you almost can't avoid.) And I have the same attitude about the Alpha unlock - I want it through that mission arc so I "waste" (in my opinion) as little Incarnate XP as possible.
  25. I keep seeing this mentioned and really have to wonder how people are running it. I may make a thread on that...
