Alphabetic Badge List PopMenu
AboveTheChemist replied to Janrith's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
I did a deep dive to check badge names, titles, and set IDs in my version of the menu. I've posted an updated file in my Feb 18 post above, and details of the updates are spoilered below. If you are updating to the new version, be sure to copy out your favorites before overwriting with this version, so you can easily replace them. I can't say with absolute 100% certainty that my version of the menu is now completely error-free, but I am about 99% confident. Of course, if you find any issues please let me know! -

I finished my badge name spelling check and I didn't find any other badges that were spelled incorrectly and/or had any capitalization issues. -
Yes, yes, and the Badger badge tracker.

tracker Badger - CoH Badge Tracker Website
AboveTheChemist replied to KeyboardKitsune's topic in Badges
I have stumbled across that badge on the site a couple of times and it's always puzzled me as well. Thanks for looking into it. I'll run through the process to earn it tonight and write up a description. And I've not forgotten about my promise to re-visit the alignment badges. I've just been tied up with a side project to verify all the in-game badge name text for all possible variants of badges (i.e. female/villain/praetorian), which has led me down a couple of rabbit holes. The results of that should be beneficial for both the Badger site and for the badge menu I modified, though. I am almost finished with that so I should be able to get to some of the other updates by the end of the weekend. -

Yes I think all male hero names are good. I know I submitted a fix for one gender assignment on the Badger site yesterday (a female name was mistakenly labelled as a male name) but decided to hold off on any other submissions until I was able to complete the testing, and that submission should not impact your work since the spelling of the name did not change. I knew from this thread to keep an eye out for a possible erroneous villain name (the one discussed above), and I still have the praetorian names to do tonight. I don't recall seeing any other spelling discrepancies but I can't say 100% for certain that there are none. I should be able to knock out the praetorian names tonight then I will parse my logs tomorrow and submit any other corrections I have. If I do notice anything else, I'll be sure to swing by here and let you know. One thing I learned last night is that the praetorian-specific badge names are technically separate badges with different in-game tags and different settitle IDs. That's a data gap I plan to fill tonight but I can pass that along as well if it would be helpful. -

My pleasure. I am in the process of testing the spelling of all possible variations of badge names (including female/villain/praetorian and all possible combos) in order to update my badge menu and the Badger site. I'm not quite done with testing but when I am I'll submit all the updates I have to the Badger site, and will update my badge menu. -

Here you go. The 'F' in 'for' is lowercase in-game. I found it last night and suspected it might be the issue but I've had meetings all day and haven't had a chance to post it. -
I do the same, and I've had my map situated on the right side of my screen for months and it never moves. I even adjusted its position a while back and it's stayed put in the new position without issue.

Thanks Piyerus! It occurred to me as I was lying in bed this morning that they might be different badges, so thanks for confirming that. I did a quick test this morning before I came in to work and was able to get a Praetorian-specific badge to work. They have their own settitle IDs too, so once I can find all the badge tags in the bin file and assign them to my test characters, I'll run my settitle binds and get the settitle IDs as well.

I am currently using the badge_grant command on the beta server to get the exact spelling of all the badge names (including the male/female/villain/praetorian variants), so that I can make sure my badge menu and the Badger site has the most up-to-date info possible. I've created a Praetorian origin character but when I use the badge_grant command with him, the badge granted has the hero name, and not the praetorian name. For instance, when I try /badge_grant Medic, the badge I get is called 'Medic' when I expect it to be called 'Do-Gooder'. I know Do-Gooder exists, but I am not sure what I need to do to be awarded the badge with that specific name. I've never played a Praetorian before so perhaps it is something simple I am missing. I've been able to get all the other variants except the Praetorian variants, so if anyone can steer me in the right direction I would be grateful!

There are four, actually. The details are in the attached screenshot. There are also a number of currently disabled badges for rejecting specific inspiration types, which only show up via the settitle command, but who knows if those badges will ever actually become active.
-
I appear to have been awarded this on my characters that are currently on the beta test server. Has anyone else that uses the beta servers noticed this badge in their inventory? It showed up for me at the top of 'Accolades', but it does not appear to count towards the total (as noted by Piyerus) nor does it appear in my character info badge list.

VidiotMaps for Issue 24 and Beyond
AboveTheChemist replied to Blondeshell's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
No, there should be both badges and plaques in Imperial City: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//d/de/Imperial_City_VidiotMap.png Just a guess, but I think by deleting your data folder, you wiped out your install of the i23 map pack. I don't see Imperial City listed among the zones that have been updated in the MoreMaps4U update, so I think that Imperial City map would have been in the i23 map pack. -
Remove Accolade Powers and Badges?
AboveTheChemist replied to Project129's topic in Open Beta Testing
I just tried copying over a level 4 character with only about 6 badges, and he was assigned all the auto-awarded badges just as if he had been created on the beta server. I tried with a level 50 and he was also granted the auto-awarded badges that he didn't already have, so character level prior to time of copy seems not to matter. And for the record I am also in favor of having no badges auto-assigned at character creation on the beta servers. -

AboveTheChemist replied to KeyboardKitsune's topic in Badges
I meant to post this earlier but had a busy weekend. Regarding the badge alignment issues that have been brought up recently, I chatted with KeyboardKitsune briefly and we both agree that while we don't want to take the time to check every badge individually, and potentially adjust the alignment for some of them, it does seem reasonable to adjust them on a case-by-case basis if a compelling case can be made for adjustment. So please do continue to submit badges for which you think the alignment should be adjusted. More importantly, please explain WHY you think they should be adjusted. That will make it easier for one or both of us to decide how to handle it. Further, for badges that are alignment-restricted, I will try to add information in the notes about where those can be found in the flashback system, in order to make it easier for badge hunters to find them. Feel free to add that information to your post if you know it. If not, I'll figure it out. And of course, please continue to submit any other errors you find in the badges! -
I knew an apple farmer once whose uncle was named Bung. On the topic at hand, my incoming supply of yellow salvage drops are typically sufficient to meet my demand, and I occasionally sell off a few stacks. I was a bit shocked to see the price three stacks fetched yesterday (which this thread helps explain, as it was more than I normally get), and even more shocked at what a couple of stacks of white salvage brought in.

Relative to the data folder within the CoH install folder. For instance, my settitle keybinds are in C:\Games\CoH\data\badge_title My keybind for cycling through the bind files is 'bind_load_file badge_title/<file_name>' And just to be clear that is for my personal settitle files that I developed, not the files associated with your application, but I think the concept should be applicable there as well. I point this out because I don't want to give the impression that I modified the application files to use relative paths. So if you decide to use relative paths in the application files, I'd certainly test them to make sure they work. And if you decide not to go that route, no worries, I just wanted to let you know it might be an option. -

Yep, the length limit is 256 characters. Also, it is possible to use relative paths in keybinds so that might help avoid line length issues. -
Recipe salvage components dataset
AboveTheChemist replied to AboveTheChemist's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Feel free to do whatever you like with the data! The only excel file I have is in a slightly different format. It lists the recipes by individual level, whereas I compiled them according to level range by common sets of salvage components. But, as Heraclea demonstrated, it should be simple enough to take my text file and import it into excel (or just use the file Heraclea provided), as the columns are delimited with semicolons. One other thing to note is that the enhancement names aren't always the same as the recipe names. I also compiled a mapping of recipe name to enhancement name if that would be useful. -

No worries, I appreciate that you are giving the badges a thorough checking! -
TheWino is correct, you can definitely do this. My bind for Ice Slick is: CTRL+LBUTTON "powexec_name Ice Slick" I hold control and wherever I click my left mouse button (with the power's range, of course), it puts down an ice slick. I have used a macro like this for location AoE powers for many months and never had issues. Targeted and point blank AoE's should be able to be activated the same way, although with targeted AoEs you may need to mind where you click so you don't unintentionally click off the target mob. Edit: See Vulpoid's post immediately below, I was not aware that powexec_location was a thing and that command should take care of targeted and point blank AoEs nicely (see p62 of the consolidated i25 patch notes for more info).

Is that badge earn-able by a villain? The wiki info leads me to believe it is only earn-able by heroes (the usual caveats about the reliability of wiki data notwithstanding). If you earned it as a villain, do you mind sharing how? This is another alignment-related issue that I am hesitant to change. -

I tested as well and concur! EDIT: I updated the file in my post above (again) because I forgot to change the badge tags down in the alphabetical section. All the Echo: Faultline and Faultline badges should have the correct tag now. -
Recipe salvage components dataset
AboveTheChemist replied to AboveTheChemist's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Updated the file in the OP again to account for the new IO sets introduced in i26p5. Those recipes are still on the beta test server but hopefully the recipes themselves won't change. Edit: I don't think the recipes have changed but the names have changed a couple of times, plus another set was added, so I am going to hold off any more updates until those sets go to the live servers. -

Thanks for bringing this up! I did a deep dive into the badges for Faultline and Echo: Faultline and found a lot of issues there (understandably, given how the badges were shuffled around and new badges added). I think I have them sorted out but I need to test them first. Here is how I currently have them mapped: I have no idea if that mapping is correct without testing, so it's entirely possible I just made things worse. Usually the badges are listed in order in the .def file though so I just followed the order I saw there. That, plus I am reasonably confident that the mapping of the original Faultline exploration badges hasn't changed. I updated the menu in my post just above. If anyone else wants to test independently and report back I would welcome that. I am going to try to test them tonight if I can.
