  1. The OP's request was specifically for something to encourage more play on redside.
  2. Yes, but it sounds seems like krj12 wants to use the existing sounds as a starting point, rather than seek out others to replace them with.
  3. If you truly need all of those to be truly, fully "optimized", then I've never been more glad that I don't make it a habit, or feel a need, to chase numbers like that.
  4. For years now, I've used a slightly modified quote of Scotty from Star Trek V: "This game was put t'gether by monkeys."
  5. Steel Canyon, Blyde Square (next to the boot of the statue). And yes, he's talking on the pay phone there.
  6. FYI and FWIW, I once thought the same, but no - apparently Flight is capped (for whatever max Flight speed is for your level) right out of the box. Being able to slot it is a cruel joke.
  7. Sounds to me that the OP's particular issue is "I can only have four power pools, total, ever, and taking just one power out of a pool uses up one of those." Can we address that limit instead?
  8. You're basically asking for a rewrite and/or remapping of all of redside. That's the sort of thing that takes Cryptic/Paragon, or another professional studio, months or years of work. You want the Homecoming devs to undertake this task, on top of everything else on their plate... for free. Because, in your opinion, "it doesn't seem that difficult". My prior response was chosen to give this proposal all the consideration I believe it deserves. Here it is again, de-memeified: No.
  9. (note that this is a guess from someone who does - heck, I used to play a Taxibot) probably something like making the functionality and convenience of the Standard Teleport BindTM baked into the power, right out of the box - so they don't have to know it exists, look up how to do it, etc etc. Based on the OP, I'm also going to go with: a faster/less laggy internet connection.
  10. That's what armor sets (for Scrappers and Tankers) look like. *shrug* Those who've played such sets are used to them. The "added flexibility" of Blaster secondaries came at the cost of spending a lot more time face down ... at least until the advent of IOs. I don't spend my time deep in theorycraft or chasing set bonuses, so I'll have to take your word for it that IOs make armor sets redundant or irrelevant. If so, that's unfortunate for the game in a lot of ways.
  11. The common thread (and threat) of Rularuu, Vanguard, etc etc is that they ignore and/or debuff defense. So if that's your main or only form of mitigation, you will die.
  12. Yeah - the OP chose their title poorly. What they actually seem to want is to greatly buff out-of-combat regen and recovery. We've spent a couple of pages now going over why that's not a good (or practical) idea.
  13. I read that as "subpar" in the sense that it's a bad mechanic, and its presence makes Cryptic's version, vision and/or implementation of Super Strength less than it could have been. To put it another way, including (stackable) Rage in the set and balancing the set around it makes CoH's SS a flawed creation. As long as it's present (Myrmidon asserts, and I would tend to agree), Super Strength can never really be "fixed". You, of course, apparently disagree that it needs to be.
  14. The OP may not be aware of this. It was not, IMO, widely advertised or documented. You'd either need to hear about it by word of mouth, or go digging through the menus, to find it.
  15. And to everyone suggesting "play Street Justice instead, then" - I have, finally, gotten around to that recently. IMO, "they both have punching" is factually correct, but meaningless; the same statement can be made of half the melee sets. My experience of StJ is that it plays very different, particularly the combo mechanic. I enjoy the animations, the FX, the rhythm and the general experience of playing Super Strength, except for Rage. Putting aside my conceptual issues with the name chosen for the power (and its inappropriateness, IMO, for certain character concepts), I don't care for the additional complexity and overhead. Although many of the newer sets have various combo mechanics to be watched and managed, the original melee powersets were - with this notable exception - quite simple. I think that balancing the set around this power was a mistake, and I'm sad that - as has been shown to me - the way powersets are coded means that we can't just throw it out. (In light of that, I'll settle for a non-stacking toggle, but I really wish it could be eliminated completely. Simplify, simplify, simplify.) Speaking for myself: I don't want to watch the timer, I don't want to deal with the crash, I Just Want To Punch People (and sometimes Stomp them) - all day, if I build for End right. I want the simple, straightforward, "mindless" punch-up. I want "which attack shall I/should I use next?" to be the biggest decision I'm faced with. Now, I would also like to be doing decent damage while I'm doing this ... but if it's a choice between having to deal with Rage in its current form, or dealing less damage and not having to, I will choose the latter (and have). Sometimes, what I really want is just a bowl of plain vanilla ice cream.
  16. This is a tautology. "SS has Rage because it has Rage." (and the related "Changing Rage means that SS is no longer SS".)
  17. "may be"? "If they exist"? Yeah, sorry, but IMO, you have just disqualified yourself from talking about this pool at all.
  18. Arcane = Magic, which is an Origin. IMO, you should pick the defense (and/or offense) set that most closely matches the effect you want, recolor it (if necessary), and go with that. (And take the Sorcery pool, of course.)
  19. No and I mean no amount of disclaimers would prevent any such list from being taken as such.
  20. I agree, to a point; but at the risk of indulging in slippery slope, there must be some middle ground. Otherwise, we turn this into a lobby game where everyone stands around Atlas 24/7 when not being zapped instantly and directly into a mission or base.
  21. Moving Recall Friend to Tier 4 (and, again, making it affect the whole team) is "not controversial"?
  22. Definitely in favor of this as a QoL issue. I can imagine the hostage takers angrily ordering them to be quiet, or else - but overhearing that would serve the same ultimate purpose. 🙂
  23. That's great to hear, thanks. I rerolled my Dark/Pistols defender from Live as a Sentinel here, given the opportunity. Good to hear that he'll finally and fully be the "pistols scrapper" I always imagined him as. (Yes, I had that concept for a long time; long enough to be annoyed when Phase Shift got nerfed, as another part was being able to go intangible.)
