This guy/god inspired a costume change to my Ice/Icy Dom. Your faithful devotee, Achilla Frost, warrior of Kislev also respec-ed her to take the 3 ice sword powers from her secondary. 😃

NPC teammate not helping: "Cripple the Arachnos Base" (redside)
Six-Six replied to RikOz's topic in Bug Reports
For the NPC minion, It's not a bug. you have to watch their health. After it dips to a certain point, they'll say something like "that's it, I'm spent..." which you can check in cutscene captions/npc dialogue. It means they've "outlived their use". If I'm not playing something that can heal allies, I try to leave the buggers behind as they are way to aggressive, often running to engage far off enemies... or just let them get killed/spent. -
I was on Torch a few minutes ago. connection was poor in my corner of the flat earth. All I could do was fiddle with (more) costume changes. Renamed Gallows (formerly MGD) to Rachel Ghul (the Ghul Ra's and Talia never knew existed)... unfortunately still stalled at 24.

Life Lessons From Nerddom
Six-Six replied to ThaOGDreamWeaver's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I've picked up a similar one from decades ago, from the original Star Wars. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. This has helped me most of my younger life whenever I encountered "an angry one" -- anything from a stranger, a client, a friend, spouse, parent or child. Instead of confronting their animosity head on, I would instead (usually) try to figure out what it is they're afraid of. And when I've identified and isolated the particular thing they fear, I can then work on alleviating or exacerbating it depending on the what would be most beneficial in a given circumstance. These days, however, I tend to care less and just ignore most of them. -
I blame the devs for giving me free tailor tokens on every toon. an alternative skin to my Staff/WP Scrapper

Open up pool powers to shapeshifted Kheldians
Six-Six replied to Gulbasaur's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
...but where will I find the slots??? srsly, I think khelds have most of the tertiary pool powers or something similar already baked into them. others would be moot or redundant. However, I wouldn't mind epics (dare i say patrons) on Khelds. In the spirit of customisation and personalisation, it would be as OP said... fantastic. -
@That Ninja Here's a costume that I coughed up some time ago, but never really got to use it. You're welcome to it if it tickles your fancy. Bloodlust.costume Sorry, most of my blokes are red side and look it.

I use Poison Traps differently. I don't set one up before the fight and have the entire mob miss them. Instead, I drop one in the middle of a fight to be sure it will trip. When it does, it's a thing of beauty. 😃
-
Poison's got some mighty mighty juju in the form of Envenom and Weaken. Them's some serious debuffs with really fast recharge and very low end cost... as long as you don't mind the spitting animation. However, Poison leaves you with zero def/res (though it does have -to hit which kinda translates to def/res) and no self-heals... and a cumbersome single target ally heal. While TA is the same on the heals and def/res front, it's a more offensive-oriented set that has a wide range of tools. I find it challenging to pick the powers from TA since I want to take them all, but I can't... not without sacrificing other aspects of my toon such as attacks, def/res, and self heals. I prefer Traps for a more well-rounded tool kit. You have immobs, holds, heals, slows, AND FFG. the last 2-3 powers are very skippable which leaves you with more power choices to shore up def/res or add on to your attacks/buffs. From the 3 secondaries you listed, my personal preference would be Beam. It has a -regen component... which helps... and I like rifles. 😃

Yes, yes you can slot Taunt IOs into Smoke Flash. And I've got the +Psi dmg and +Disorient in mine. I took it as a panic button attack when I'm overwhelmed and need to git outta there fast... But, I never really get to use it much, so I can't really say for sure if it does proc damage THEN placate. Sorry.
-
Ya, the powexec_location Self would annoyingly turn me around as well. That's why I prefer powexec_location Front:X... X being distance in feet in multiples of 5. And nothing wrong with non-set IOs, especially when you've got Faraday Cage up and running. But I'd advise you to keep to SOs in the low levels if you don't mind coughing up some inf from time to time. their percentage values far exceed those of standard IOs. they balance out around 35, and then the SOs continue to lag behind until 50.

I'm partial to dual blades and claws purely for thematic purposes.... maybe I'll include ninja blades, but only if you're holding the cleaver. Most of the other powers, while strong in their own right, I just don't see in my head as part of an assassin's toolkit. Dual blades also has that combo mechanic, that if you get bored with your standard rotation, you can play around with those just to keep things interesting on your way to 50. As for secondaries, I'm a big fan of Ninja and SR, both of which pair well with the primaries above, again thematically. I'm not a big fan of stalkers myself primarily because I can't see the costume I worked on. But I recently learned that if you don't choose Min FX for Combat Jumping, you can almost see your character (not the costume) in the screen.

I can vouch for this combo 100%. I was surprised how it turned out to be one of my strongest. One of my benchmarks is facing Silver Mantis in Black Scropion's arc in the late 40s. This bloke not only stood his ground, but barely flinched. Anyhoo, I mostly solo, and a few things that worked for me (may not necessarily work for you) are: Set Galavanic (and Later Voltaic) to keybinds: bind G powexec_location Front:10 Galavanic Sentinel -- summons GS 10ft. in front of me with one click (you can change the distance in increments of 5, or use "Self") bind T powexec_name Voltaic Sentinel -- Toggles Voltaic on (since they turned VS into a toggle) bind C powexec_name Rejuvenating Circuit bind V powexec_name Energizing Circuit of course, you may choose any key you want instead. I tend to use the ones near my WASD fingers. I didn't take the last 4 primaries because I rarely had allies with me to use them on... and it gave me space for attack power picks. But you can do the same with the other chain powers and even Faraday Cage so that everything is one button click on the keyboard. Again, this works for me because my nimbleness with the mouse is not as good and I can never locate the cursor pointer during a heated fight. If you're having trouble selecting your floating sentinels to fire off RC and EC, have the pet window open and select them from there. Another way to select THE ENEMY atttacking your sentinels instead of your sentinels. When you have a foe selected and fire off RC or EC, it goes to THEIR target, which are your Sentinels. This is a hit-and-miss thing until you find the specific foe with the Tab, but I can do this faster by Tab Selecting instead of (again) finding the mouse pointer and guiding it to the pet or pet window. Edit: Forgot about the macros: I more of a keybind guy than a macro guy. But since you already have a Select Sparky macro, why not just add to the string. I might be off here, but the syntax should be: /macro Select Sparky "[your particular command to select GS]$$powexec_name Rejuvenating Circuit$$powexec_name Energizing Circuit" The way it works should be you just click the macro button once to select pet, twice to heal, 3x to recover. (disclaimer: I have been known to botch up macro strings) And since you have such a hardworking macro, you may want to opt for a better looking icon than the dull generic grey one. You can find one here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uHUi6BWFTYj4wbfGBs3LjZL88Fym6B-8EwDr18YZcY8/edit#gid=0 Just replace /macro with /macroimage [specific icon name]. the rest should be the same.

You can do Ward missions. If you set your notoriety right, you can get as high as 45. Just remember to save Fireball for last because he's the one you'll out-level last. the last 5 levels are the toughest. You can keep an eye out for high-level teams that take place in the Wards, those will take you through the last few levels. That or some AE gold-related content. there are some that are really good (cough... @Darmian's... cough). Pillar missions will limit you to gold side content. Ouro won't accept you, so better have one in your base. While the pillar will let you access the mission list for red and blue side, you can't go there and will be mapserved back to gold side.

Another spider lover. Awesome. I've been spending the past few days revisiting my old spiders and taking advantage of the free respecs the devs showered us with to impart some recent things I've learned with IOs and builds. What I've noticed with my 2 Crabs is: 1) you don't need to exert much effort to make them quite tanky. they'll easily go mid-level def/res with very little slotting. You can get creative with set bonuses to get your min-max fix. 2) you have SO many powers to choose from. Too many to be efficient as you'll run into slot allocation problems. I've experimented with different power picks and so far, I can't seem to fit Fighting's Tough and Weave... not at the cost of other powers. I could barely double dip into Leadership Ass/Manu--with only 1 extra slot to spare for maneuvres. 3) you have to "commit" to being a crabbermind. Unlike an MM, you don't have an efficient way to heal or even have all 6 pets up every time. for one thing, I had to focus my build on recharge, Lings CD is 10 and the bigger buggers are both 15mis. I was able to get them down to roughly 4 and 7 mins each. They're up for 5 mins or so, so I almost always have 3 robo-bugs with me at any given time. To compensate for the heal, I instead played tankermind with the crab. built him to take aggro and damage because I can heal, but I can't heal my pets. Oh... and you can't order your pets around. they just go and do what and where they want. Incidentally, they made changes with the Wolf Costume if you have the crab back pack. You don't get the snazzy chest armour anymore... just a wide strappy thing. =( Totally ruined one of my older toon's look.

I get that all the time. I wouldn't worry about it so much.

I vote for Elec/Elec. At level 20, you get Rejuvenating and Energising Circuit which you can bounce off of Galvanic Sentinel to basically take care of your Regen and Recovery. Just slot it for recharge and end redux so you can spam it if you need to. You also get Faraday Cage which you can slot in a Steadfast Res/Def and a Gladiator TP + Def All to give you a hefty res against everything as well as ample status resistance. Also, Galvanic Sentinel IIRC lasts for a min and has a min CD so you can have it with you all the time. Its got decent debuffs and I like to slot it with +Stun and an end redux. I prefer to take CJ for more movement control, but you can also go for Hover where you can slot Winter's Slow Res, Zephyr's/Karma's -KB, Kismet +Acc, and Shield Wall's TP +Res All. If you do take Hover, I'd advice an End Redux SO, although Energising Circuit should have you covered. I also take Fighting Pool's Tough and Weave for added res/def out of habit; and I just slot Kick with either Kinetic's +KD or Slugfest's +Disorient. That leaves 3 attacks which are 2 ST attacks, a snipe and a choice between an ranged AoE (Ball Lightining) or mini-nuke (Short Circuit).

I only started playing when I found out about Homecoming (Yup, I'm newb compared to all of you Live folks). I've played a bit of DCUO and that old Marvel one, so gave this a go. At first, I didn't know what the hell I was doing (and not much has improved since haha). I stumbled about until I found Sentinels. The Sentinel was/is a very forgiving AT to learn the ropes without too many trips to the hospital. After getting my feet wet, I proceeded to try other ranged ATs. Tried Blasters, but kept getting mezzed and dying all the time that it longer felt fun. Took a step back and considered Soldiers of Arachnos which looked to me like Sentinels on steroids. They had a bit more contribution to team play and I got introduced to melee play. So next up were Brutes and Scrappers. I passed up Tankers because I felt I didn't have the skill required to be an effective Tank; I also ignored Stalkers because that blasted AT won't let me see my dang costume. I realised I enjoyed ranged AND melee not just ranged OR melee. So I mustered up the courage to try Blasters again and played as a Blapper. Blappers showed me the value of cc in an attack rotation and that armour was overrated. Then I tried Doms which were cc + ranged + melee. But it didn't/doesn't end there. Dom's controls gave me experience to try Trollers. I'm currently playing my first Troller now. And because of what I've learned with Doms and what I'm learning with Trollers, I will definitely go revisit my Fortunatas--which I fumbled about with and never really got the hang of. Somewhere in between all of that, I also tried ranged + support (Fenders and Corruptors). Since I mostly run solo, I felt most of the ally-only powers of the two ATs were wasted on me. But they did help me try out MMs. I also tried PBs and WSs, but couldn't wrap my head around the tri-form play. I did manage to ding a human-form only up to 50. I'm giving them another go with Page 4's no-detoggling patch. So that's my journey so far. I don't think I can pick a single favourite ATI would pick Blasters. I enjoy all of them for different reasons. More specifically, I enjoy particular power sets for a certain AT and specific toons that have developed their own personalities. I usually switch between 3-5 active toons depending on my mood, all with a healthy dose of solitary roleplaying. So currently, I'm playing an illusion/dark Troller, WS, dark/savage Dom, Bots/Elec MM, and a Psy/Fire Blapper.

I'm not too fond of league-sized runs myself. I feel like I'm the only headless chicken running around not accomplishing anything. Other than that, the entire Ouroboros lore doesn't appeal to me, but they do have that nifty Pillar (of which I got a knock off and put it in my gloomy dystopian base--Ouro's too dang bright). Like Lumi, I enjoy the levelling up journey of figuring out how to not to die with what powers and slots I have available at the time. depending on my notoriety settings, I get to do most of the content at-level, I rarely turn off XP and never get XP boost. By the time my toon dings 50, I go to the Pillar and do the missions I missed, and some missions over. But generally, after a toon becomes 50 (I actually start to lose interest around 45+ because of power creep, but 50 brings closure), I fire up another spanking new character. So many alts so little play time. Due to the recent Page 4 free respec and tailor coupons, I've been revisiting my old toons. I realise that yes, I do miss stepping into their shoes (each of them has a different personality that takes over me when I play them--even when I take my meds). A lot of them I wouldn't mind playing again or still. The only thing that's keeping me from doing that is the attraction of novelty, and maybe the lost muscle memory of the attack chain. I also realised that some of my 50s I'd rather not play again... unless by some divine bolt of enlightenment I figure out what I'm doing wrong with their build and play style. However, they're already 50 and it seems a shame to discard them.

I need to update overhaul mine. The recent 7 FREE TAILOR COUPONS from Page 4 patch had like a Bull in a candy store... or something similar. That and the idle toon warning. It did make me take a step back and decide which AT/powers I was never really going to play anyway. I released about a couple of dozen of them, and I'm now trying to re-assign some of the costumes and names to the ones I really want to keep or try playing. As soon as my head stops spinning from the re-naming, respec-ing and re-outfitting, I'll do the list. Edit/Update. So I started to update my list. I couldn't finish it in one sitting so I thought I'd click "Hide Topic after posting". I thought it meant it would be hidden from everyone else while I was working on it. But apparently it's also hidden from me. So ya, the link to my toons doesn't work anymore. Filed a ticket, but I'm afraid I have to start over. =(
-
Heeh. I just stumbled upon this combination while trying to fiddle with an alt. no way to work in those tubes to his cheeks, though. I'm loving the 7 free costume changes for each toon. 😃
