Funny, just found this thread. I thought the same thing. It has a bit of everything to see how you survive. This is how I tested out all my Petless and Semi-Petless Masterminds.. If they can do this on 3/8 then its a good build and getting the incarnate unlock was even better. Currently working a Whip / Force Field build through this mission. But currently had to drop it down to 1/8. From my end, any petless or Full pet build with Trick Arrow is going to do great here.. Trick Arrow is that dam good.

I will tell you entangling really works well. I am running a petless nature whips mastermind. I have Oppressive gloom as well. What I do is do not use Oppressive gloom and keep it on standby. If I get stunned or mezzed and Entangle gets dropped I turn on OG until Entangle recharges up. Then I click entangle on and drop Oppressive Gloom. But again Entangle really does hold mobs 1000 times better than Oppressive Gloom stuns. I mean it is a consistent hold.. my defenses are in the 30s so Spore Cloud puts me at cap. I have Wild Growth on auto cast. I will also say that Force of Will is very nice.. Wall of Force is a very wide cone and does a lot of dps. I went with Vigor on Alpha incarnate. I was talking on the forums with some people about attack powers for masterminds and was wishing I could have some sword power for undead. Sort of to match the knights.. Temp powers were mentioned. My similar concern was doing and then it going away eventually and then having to redo the run again. Plain and simple it a pain in the backside to keep redoing. I side note I would like temp powers for everything. I would love to create a character around temp powers that scale up. Temp sword attack, temp whip attack, temp gun attack, Temp rifle attack, Temp wand attack, Temp staff attack, This would also allow the Devs to see what players are creating as almost a live Proof Of Concept. This could lead to new AT or new Power sets.

I will go one step further and say Masterminds should not have pet upgrade powers. It should be automatic. What is basically being said is that for Masterminds they need to slot this power call upgrade to make their T1, T6 and T8 powers better. I am expecting some rebuttal on this and can make my points when and if it happens. Basically incorporate the Endurance cost for each upgrade for that level into the pet summoning cost and split it as you get access to the other Tier pets.. Henchmen upgrade end costs have been reduced from 22.75 to 11.375 Note: This were some quick low hanging changes to help Masterminds out a bit, we are currently investigating further improvements to Masterminds for the future So on first pet upgrade you only have Tier 1 pets will cost and extra 11.375 in endurance cost. Once the Tier 2 pets arrive it could be split evenly or based on Pet Tier level, with the higher the level cost more. I can see someone making an issues with this as some players might not summon all the pets so you are getting the upgrade cheaper, but again you don't have all your pets out. But WTF do you do with the 2 empty slots ? pet centric powers or powers animating from pets ( think target drone here for example ) I would suggest a Pet only Build Up / AIM or that affects everyone at the T4 slot. I would say just make this build up or AIM type power temporarily remove the Level deficiency from the Pets or boost supremacy for them. Again whatever works. The T8 could be some personal attack or group heal. Again whatever works. Again suggestion and ideas.

They clearly said that this buff was just a small fix and more was to come. Because there is a lot that was said and asked for and they realized they didn't give Masterminds much in the form up updates..

I tried using Group flight after the changes to play a flying fortress concept. But moving them around was difficult and clunky. It was impossible to direct them while in the air. Plus using group fly in a mission was useless. I even tried some farms but again useless. Group fly is great for looks flying around the city and people to see. I wanted to make a themed character of a little girl with a demon, but the little girl look just seems like a skinny teenager goth teenager. Just couldn't get the sinister evil little girl look. I have a few more builds to add here to the thread. I have about 10+ Petless or semi Petless masterminds.

An Issue of Defense (Force Field suggestion)

The Force Field post has been posted countless of times in the Suggestion Forums. Force Field needs revamping.. Since IO's came out along with changes and new power sets, it became apparent that it does not take 8 players to do a Task force or 16 to an Itrial. Pre IO Force Field was great, no one complained about a bubbler on the team. Forget the numbers.. It just needs changes and revamp. -
Some of this is going against Patron power pools. Just using Nature Affinity for examples as I was just playing it and not targeting Nature Affinity specifically. I would like the option to change power animation appearances. But I would like to see the following as examples. Spirit Tree or Triage Beacon instead of Lifegiving Spores Carrion Creepers instead of Soul Tentacles. Aid Other and Aid Self come from a Targeting Drone or a Wisp or seeker drones, when cast they zoom in and explode with a heal. Entangling Aura to have some wisp type or energy type appearance or even that from Conductive Aura from Electric control Basically the ability to keep powers thematic or change the thematic appearance. The thought concept is for example I like Nature Affinity for what it does and provides but I want it to look different. Maybe more spooky or more villainous. Or my tech like.

Petless Demon Summoning Nature Affinity . Sort of went with a male version of Poison Ivy.. Green and Black or Dark Blue on vines and Trees for Nature Affinity. Bit of endurance issue but fixed when I picked up Vigor Partial Core Revamp. What I can tell you I learn from creating and playing this build. If you can get away with no Hasten like on this build, it is great for Procs as many might know already. I just didn't realize it until I seen it. Force of Will.. Very nice set. Wall of Force is a very wide long cone. Just very nice power, lets hope it doesn't change. Lash whip attack, Wall of Force are hitting very hard. Lash attack especially. When all procs hit I am hitting a red con mob for 3/4 of his health bar. I am running on a 3/8 setting again vs weak mobs like Council and CoTs Entangling Aura very great as well. It is holding the wolves from Council.. So anything that holds those suckers is great. I could run Oppressive Gloom as well with the endurance I have, but I don't.. Entangling Aura does have a 4 second recharge and Oppressive Gloom almost a 2 second recharge. What I do is sometimes keep O.G. on back up after a stun. When stunned, I immediately bring up O.G. after stun recovery to help mitigate damage and then click on Entangling Aura when it comes up and turn off O.G. The hold from Entangling Aura is much better than Oppressive Gloom. My main tactic is basically try to line up the mobs for all the cone attacks. Soul Tentacles, Wall of Force, Night Fall, Crack Whip and just rinse and repeat. Then use single attacks on runners here and there. I have Wild Growth on auto as that puts my S/L resistance at cap. Over Growth is just about Perma with Procs going off. Open a fight with Wild Bastion, Over Growth and Unleashed Potential and just cycle as they come up. I can drop Lifegiving Spores as well with no endurance issues. I usually drop it after a stun right after activating O.G.
