Fun.. any chance we could see a new class in 2025?  Something like Warden - defender primary with blaster secondary?

Isn't that just... a defender?

I thought the same thing at first but it would have the more powerful melee attacks that most blaster secondaries get. So, like a defender with medium punches instead of weak blasts.

I want to see Melee with Defender powers, Both weakened of course, but just from the idea of creating a Holy Paladin with Empathy and Swords for instance, I would love this.

Did that in '05.  It might be a bit better now, with Cross Punch and Defensive Amplifiers being available, but it's still going to be shit on toast compared to every other option.  As an actual archetype, it'd be about as popular as petless masterminds.

Get busy living... or get busy dying.  That's goddamn right.

I understand that it might be hard to do, but I really think that the Incarnate judgement powers need some love at some point in the future.

First of all, there are 2 damage types that aren't represented - toxic and psionic. This is an issue for me as one of my characters has RP reasons for having no powers that deal damage other than psionic (apart from Brawl, which she never uses). There are plenty of existing animations that can be used to activate the power, so I suspect that the problem is going to be the actual application of the powers.

Second (and probably far easier to implement) Vorpal shouldn't be doing Smashing damage of any kind. Vorpal swords are known for their Lethal cutting ability, not for bludgeoning.

There have been new powersets created for Homecoming. How hard would it be to make new Incarnate powers for an existing slot?

Anyway, keep up the good work, and I hope to still be playing this game in another 20 years.

Every time they make one of these posts I can't help but wonder how many people go and make a character with the least popular powersets. Was there a sudden surge in sonic/archery defenders today?

Same thing when an Aeon SF says "no masterminds" and then someone makes a MM only aeon sf.

they are bored

Another note on the Khelds - I am a fan but why are people shocked that so few are made? There are two types of Khelds and you can only vary them so much. When you get 3 builds per toon, you don't have to keep making one.

with khelds, there are no other "sets" available to them.  you will always be a lumi blast/lumi defense peacebringer.  meanwhile someone out there can be a fire/atomic blaster, fire/dev blaster, etc and so on

And since khelds are a long learning experience and so many guides and stuff are out of date and peoples vain mentality there are a lot of roadblocks to someone making a kheld

and what hurts the most is little replayability without forcing it

human form damage sucks and i fear the day the devs buff it because it would cancel out why even nova form.  well i mean unless they do something like shorten the range on all attacks and lower the target limit to things like sentinels

dwarf form is very rarely needed for groups

and i only really feel like i accel as a kheld as a nova form with permahasten.  and i did that.  i did the hell out of that.

at least with soldiers and widows you can make multiple characters (ignoring second/third builds) and can have at least some variable experiences with replays while still bringing in some damage

actually this post was too long and heartfelt for my taste, the real reason no one makes khelds is their main mechanic covers up their costumes

I wonder how many of those Masterminds were created only to Trick or Treat themselves to level 25. ^_^

I love Masterminds. It'd be my favorite AT if I could be a Storm/Storm MM, but since I can't, MM has to share the title of favorite with Corruptor.

And Bots are my favorite pet, of course. Unless we get Storm or Elemental pets someday, then those will be my favorite. 😄

I've made 6 Widows in the last year and a couple soldiers. I even team so players can see one. Widows are just to subtle to be noticed. Did make a Mastermind finally so I may be at the end of the cool kids table.

Not going to be pulling more data for this year's post, but mentally noted to include some of these on next year's!

I'd be interested in seeing a with/without firey aura brutes numbers. At one point we had a spreadsheet that had both with/without simply because there were so. very. many. fire farmers.

Time for the Eldritch AT to remind everyone why you don't mess with tentacled creatures from deep space!

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

I've wanted some Domi Assault Sets ported to Defenders for a while now. Would it be optimal / decent? Dunno. Would it be fun with some Primaries? Hell yes.

Marine / Savage sounds fun for example.
