I know right off the top that some players dislike the idea that most other players take hasten. They see this as some sort of anathema for reasons of their own. Some folks think hasten should be relegated to characters whose AT, powersets, back story make sense to have it. I'm not one of those people. What's fun is different for all of us.

I have thought briefly of any kind of circumstance when I had hasten and would prefer not to see the effects. The only thing I come up with is maybe roleplay, or a costume contest. So, just an add-on thought.

Make Hasten auto-fire. Give the option in the tailor for hasten to have no visual effects.
The advantages would be Dominators could put Domination on auto-fire instead of rigging up some crazy file bind system. Other ATs could also take advantage in some way, I'm sure.

I do grasp that some ne'er-do-wells might use such a thing for ill-gotten gain, like AFK-farmers being able to use their AoE power that much more quickly. (That's probably splitting hairs on ill-gotten gain. Those farmers did earn the enhancements, and took the time to figure out how to rig their characters to do such things. And if it weren't fun for them, they wouldn't do it)

Still, it was a thought, figured I'd suggest it. I'm certain the same folks that hate every other suggestion will chime in as to why. Sometimes, I see their points. Sometimes, I don't. Fair enough.

I'm still waiting for a day when we can choose if we want a toggle to be automatic, instead of having to toggle it on/off every time. I suppose that shows how lazy I really am. I just can't be bothered to mash one more button.

Vayne keeps his Hasten on auto all the time - dude needs to chill. Personally, I like the idea. Maybe there are other powers like that which a Tailor could put on auto for you, with an appropriate pop-up warning. I'm thinking specifically of the Leadership pool powers of Maneuvers, Assault, and Tactics.

Not sure I follow what you're suggesting. Would Hasten a) be a power that's always on, uses no endurance and requires no recharge slotting (don't think it could be slotted for anything); or b) would activate automatically if it was recharged but otherwise would still require recharge slotting and have an endurance cost.

If "everyone" uses hasten with enough recharge to get it perma, and puts it on autofire, wouldnt just making hasten a toggle "fix" this?

Hasten is an active power.

It can help teach players about recharge, chasing perma, timers, blinking icons, and endurance management.

In my opinion: Only after tackling endurance is a permanent Hasten more beneficial to a character than keeping their toggles up.

New characters learn lessons from how some of the powers work.

Sure, if we skip to 50 with each new character the preceding statement becomes less relevant.

Making Hasten a toggle or inherent could be a bit more complicated than it may appear at first blush. Possible, sure!

If Hasten were an auto power it would function like this: every 450 seconds it would apply a non-stacking 70% recharge buff that lasts for 120 seconds. It still hits you for an end penalty.

The difference now is it's an auto power. And to make it balanced you can't slot recharge reduction enhancements in it, so perma Hasten is no longer possible.

Is that something you really want?

If Hasten were changed to an auto power, its effects would be significantly reduced. This might break some perma-dom builds, etc. For that reason, I’m out.

I could maybe see it as a toggle that drains some endurance over time, but a totally free auto is very unlikely for something so powerful.

Since it would now be perma out of the box, the end cost would likely need to be on the high end (maybe high enough to 2-slot it for end reduction like how it currently gets 2-slotted for recharge).

Every one of my dominators has perma-Domination and doesn't have Hasten.  Most are over 200% global +Recharge, and those who aren't are very close to that number (195+)

And, again, that's without Hasten.

Hasten doesn't need to be changed because people make shitty builds, people need to stop making shitty builds that require juggling the auto.

I knew there was something I didn't think about. And you're absolutely correct. It can't be auto, because it's not perma out of the box. Shame on me for even making the suggestion. Thanks!

And shame on you for assuming people that use hasten to reach perma-dom have shitty builds. Like who the heck are you to make that call?

Someone who makes better builds than those shitty ones that have to juggle Hasten and Domination.

Duh.

I don't understand - is the game too difficult that they can't manage hasten as a click power?  It is already such a good power - if anything, it should be adjusted so it itself is not modified by recharge reduction effects...

why not reduce all player power cooldowns by 70%, remove hasten and replace it with martial art's old thunderkick?

I miss the old Thunder Kick...

Me too. My understanding is that it's still in the game files somewhere. I wish someone would unearth it and make it an option, tho it would require a speedup/trim.

As for Hasten, I'd 100% be onboard with lowering the recharge so that it could be made perma with just 3 SOs. Y'know, what Jack promised he would do right before the massive ED nerf, but later reneged. Lying liar. I'd also be OK with lowering it to ~50% and making it a toggle.

Just a quick public service announcement, never 3 slot hasten. 2 lvl 50+5 Generic Recharge IOs is the only way to go. Don't waste a slot that you can easily save.

yeah. Make it work like the change that happened to https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Concealment#Phase_Shift

Spoiler

Honestly, the only reason that I could see that a change was needed for how Phase Shifting worked was due to possible PvP considerations.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

agreed. The only way I can see this, if it's made auto with the full effect as if it were at least two slotted with two level 50 recharge IOs. I doubt the devs would agree to that.
