Homecoming Statistics: March 2020

My impression is that there is a lot more variety among my blasters within the AT than there is within any other AT.  I have several level 50 blasters: electric/electric, archery/devices, and ice/plants.  The double electric is basically built as a sapper, and is probably one reason why I haven't been all that interested in playing defenders.  The arch/dev probably comes closest to being a traditional pure DPS blaster.  Ice/plants has more hard control than my controller (ill/rad) and for that reason is a reliable earner, and my first choice to bring to Hamidon raids.

Am I just imagining things, or did previous incarnations of this thread link to a massive table where the powers of each set were ranked by percentage of eligible builds that included them?  Wherever it was, that was very helpful in navigating oddball builds.

Additionally I'm not sure if the sonic buff set ever got rid of that whole "giving people migraines" deal and that has stopped me from making anything with it.

Yes, it did. Well back on live. Which is why they're orange now.

I don't know if the numbers have been updated, but here's the link.

It would be cool if the active accounts/CCU/hours played numbers could get an update every now and then.

I only started playing in May 2020, and now have 5 friends who joined as well.

Only just reached level 20.

It would be interesting to see how things develop month-by-month.

Still think these are impressive numbers.

So... Just for fun, I went through and made a list of all of my current level-50's (That's all but three of my entire list of "active" characters at this point-) and where they are in the "How Common IS This Combination, Anyway?" ranks. I was a little surprised at how few there were of some and how many there were of others...

Only 13 Broadsword/Bio Brutes? Huh.

267 other nutty people went for PsiMelee and Energy on their Stalkers? Unexpected. But cool.

As-of the March data, Ferrian the Claws/Fire Stalker was a Unicorn, with no 50's of the type, but I know a few other people have leveled those since then, so no clue how much company he has out there now. It'll be fun to see how much all of the numbers have changed by the time the next set of data comes out.

As for me? The obvious WP/Bio/Dark/Time/Stalker/Sent/Defender fan-girl... I need to branch out more. I think I'm going to go look at the lists and build another less-than-10 combination of an AT I don't have yet. Maybe I need to look at Doms.

I'm pretty sure the Psionic Melee / Energy Aura Stalkers are popular since it's a fairly solid PvP Build.

That would explain it, I guess. I know I haven't come across a lot of them in the-game-at-large.

But how many characters have a backstory > 500 characters?

I feel like I remember seeing more backstories on live. I get so excited to see even just a few sentences typed. I feel like they're an important part of a superhero game.

If you see a Greek toon- it's probably me.

Evdoxia (Defender: Time/DP), Mykonos (Defender: Kinetics/Water Blast), Miss Greece (Defender: Rad/pb)

Which Shard are you on, @Evdoxia?  That sort of matters a bit for frequency of characters with backstories.

Excelsior

Backstories can't just be limited to the RP server can they? xD

Sometimes when I see a large group of people, I toggled on the reading emote, then read their bio one by one. I love reading their stories.

These numbers are interesting. The most interesting one is how many Masterminds don't go all the way to 50. Maybe once you get all the pets and upgrades it lacks stuff to aim towards. Maybe if their APPs were more personalised it would be better?

I think it's frustration with Pet AI & frequent resummons

That, and being left behind on speed runs, and poor damage from Ninjas, Mercenaries, and Beasts.

Playing a MM does make every mission feel like an escort mission. The pets do like to ponder their existence when transferring from combat to passive..

The delay on switching to Defensive and then having the Henchpets retaliate was an intentional addition to prevent Masterminds from "cheesing" the Bodyguard Damage Share mechanic.

But frankly?  I think it's time we allow Masterminds to cheese it as an improvement to Quality of Life!
