Lusiphur Malache Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I usually work to T4 my Alpha ability and ignore the others so don't have to think about shards and Notices anymore. At least 3 or 4 abilities have been unlocked by then, the question is what do you believe is the next ability to level up, Judgement, Lore, Destiny, or my personal favorite Interface. Maybe you do it all wrong and work on all of them at the same time, just kidding you do you boo boo. Judgement looks nice, Lore and Destiny have level shifts, and Interface put a proc on most powers, Hell even Hybrid must have some use (no it doesn't not really).
roleki Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Destiny, Destiny, No Escaping That's For Me 2 1 I killed them.... Con Carne
Maelwys Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) Generally I'll get T3 Judgement and T4 (Reactive) Interface. Because they unlock first after the Alpha Slot and I keep plenty of spare Transcendent Merits in my global email box. Lore and Destiny next. I typically focus on Lore first (because having a buffpet for 5mins out of every 10 is more useful unless the toon needs Ageless) but some squishy sets really benefit from getting Clarion Core for the constant mez protection. Hybrid last; and almost always either Assault (although split between Core and Radial) or Support Core. A few toons have Melee Core for added survivability. After I've T4'ed everything I'll usually go back and make other "situationally useful" options like a T4 Degenerative Interface and T4 Barrier/Incandescence Destinies too. EDIT: It can really help to run Heather's DA arc a few times when you're starting out below Vet level 10 or so for the Salvage rewards. You'll be T4 before you know it. Edited February 4 by Maelwys
Uun Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I'll generally T3 everything before I start crafting T4s. The order I go in is somewhat dependent on the RNG and what slots I happen to have materials for, but usually Interface > Destiny > Lore > Hybrid > Judgment. Going from T3 to T4, the order shifts to Destiny > Hybrid > Interface > Lore > Judgment. 2 Uuniverse
Sovera Posted February 5 Posted February 5 T3 Alpha is all that's really needed for the biggest boost. T4 is just a cherry on top. T4 Barrier afterwards for the perma 5% to all and otherwise panic button. T3 Degenerative. Go back to finish the alpha. Last would always be Lore since it was so niche and Judgement would barely edge before since a nuke is fine and all, but only every 2 minutes did not make it super interesting, though alternating Barrier and Judgement did allow to push past problematic factions/challenges. - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds.
Logansan Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I do T3 Alpha first, then T3 Lore and Density. Then I just work on getting the others to T3, and when I get a Very Rare I normally do the T4s in order of Lore, Density, Alpha, Interface, Hybrid, Judgement. Logansan (aka Body and Soul, Badaxe, Delta Love, Ellendor) Google Photos album with the background stories of some of my characters.
Jiro Ito Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I complete Alpha first, then Judgement (the most fun), then Destiny (the most requested by teammates), then Hybrid. Then I worry about Interface, and finally the Lores (the worst). Techwright Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I'll usually do T2 Alpha, saving enough that I can immediately do a T1 on Judgement and Interface upon unlock. I always make certain I leave enough for a T1 on the next unlock. Then I'll set all to T3 before working on any T4. As to Alpha Shard system, I've never really understood it, finding it is slow and superfluous for me. I earn rewards in the Threads path far faster, so I'll probably only make one tier with what Shard stuff I earn, but have on occasion completely ignored the Shard path.
AlwaysAPrice Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Usually T3 Alpha, T1-2 Judgement and Interface, T3 Lore & Destiny, then T3 Hybrid. Determined more by the order they unlock in than their comparative utility, really. For characters I'm going to full T4s on, priority after that is usually Lore, Alpha, Hybrid, Destiny, Interface, Judgement, but it can vary when a power's super on-theme for either the concept or build.
arcane Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) Not much rhyme or reason to it but I usually go T3 Alpha -> T4 Destiny (Barrier) -> T4 Alpha -> T4 Hybrid -> T4 Interface -> T4 Judgement -> T4 Lore -> 2nd T4 Destiny (Incan) -> Done. But I don’t usually leave my farm until I’m at least through Interface, so it hardly matters. Edited February 6 by arcane
Crysis Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I -always- T3 Alpha, Destiny and Lore to get the +3 Level Shift. Then I'll T3 Hybrid and then work on T4'ing Alpha, Destiny and Hybrid. Then a full respec into my final build for the toon. Those three incarnate powers do more for your build than any others and depending on choices can allow you to do crazy things like ignore set bonuses and go proc crazy with your powers. Can be jarring how much they allow you to frankenslot and gain massive returns. I've had Defender characters go from OK to some of the most damaging toons in my library after this part of the game. Only then will I go back and T3/4 Judgement, Interface and Lore in that order. I've done this since Live. Just faster and easier now.
Hedgefund Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) There's a lot of conditional branching for my incarnating rules. First, the overriding rule is I'm T4ing everything. Always have, always will. Starting off after dinging 50, I'll have 2 Transcendents (100 Emps) on hand from e-mail. Ideally, I won't use these but if needed, they're there. Then I beeline to Alpha t3. I begin aspiring to get this via thread related component drops but if I end up joining some level 50 content like an ITF or LRSF or an easier iTrial (BAF or Lambda), I'll cash in whatever is needed to get to T3 from those Emps on hand. Once Alpha is at T3 I build up T3s for Destiny and Lore, in that order, even if they're still locked. If I'm anxious to join a higher tier iTrial (DD or Magi) I'll brute force slotting and unlocking with the components on hand (this happens very rarely but it has). Once Alpha, Lore and Destiny are all T3d, then I fill in T1s for everything. The priority varies by character, MMs get Interface next, for example. Someone else may get Judgement but priority is fairly moot at this point because I'll tend to have what I need to craft the 3 remaining T1s. I'll opportunistically T4 things in this order - Destiny, Lore, Hybrid, Interface, Judgement. Alpha wasn't listed because it's on its own track and not competing for resources. For the next Alpha T3 I'll use threads for T1 and T2, then shards and shard based components for the second T3 and the T4. For all the talk of how shards don't drop enough, I tend to have alpha T4d before most of the others, depending on how the RNGods regard a particular character. Eventually I'm ready to move on and ideally everything needed has dropped but if not then it's time to brute force with Emps. Then remaining Emps get rolled into Transcendents, sent to email and claimed by an Empyrean holder and the cycle begins anew. Edited February 6 by Hedgefund
Clave Dark 5 Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Just whatever looks good. Never bothered to get a T4 with any toon, it's a lot of cost and work for a few extra percentage points, really, and because I level instead of insta-farm them, I usually bored of them by T2 or so and moving on. Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game... ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Clave's Sure-Fire Secrets to Enjoying City Of Heroes Ignore those farming chores, skip your market homework, play any power sets that you want, and ignore anyone who says otherwise. Ironblade Posted February 6 Posted February 6 After I get my Alpha to tier 3, I craft tier 3's for both Lore and Destiny and wait for them to unlock. Once those are tier 3, then I got back and do Interface and Judgement to T3. Then Hybrid. Then I focus on getting T4 on Destiny, Alpha and Hybrid as I think those are the most useful. Also, my characters will generally have Barrier, Clarion AND Incandescence so I'm ready for anything. Eventually, everything will be tier 4. Originally on Infinity. I have Ironblade on every shard. - My only AE arc: The Origin of Mark IV (ID 48002) Link to the story of Toggle Man, since I keep having to track down my original post.
JJDrakken Posted February 7 Posted February 7 95% time this how I do incarnates. Alpha: Cardiac Destiny: Barrier Interface: Diamagnetic Lore: Whatever fits the theme. Hybrid: A lot times, Support. Judgement: Whatever fits the theme.
ZorkNemesis Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I like to get Alpha to T3 first with the third level of merits (I'll T4 it first if I get a lucky roll from Dark Astoria). From there i'll typically grab T1 Interface and Judgement (usually don't have Lore/Destiny available yet) and i'll get T1 Lore and Destiny, aiming for T3 Destiny once I have both. Then I aim for at least T3 Interface since I feel it usually has the bigger payoff than Lore for non-iTrials. Hybrid T1 as soon as I can buy it, and then I'll T3 Lore then Hybrid, and finally returning to Judgement once everything else is built. Currently playing on Indomitable as @Zork Nemesis; was a Protector native on live.
Ukase Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Typically, my order of operations is: T-3 alpha. Sometimes I use threads, but usually shards and the notw. Depends on if there are some itrials I want to do instantly. Once I get t-3 alpha, I will typically bring 2 alts with the primary character through the Dark Astoria incarnate arcs and collaboratively complete all but the final, then do the final mission 3 times for 3 reward tables for each arc. I'll use what threads/emp merits I get to craft first: Lore, then Destiny. The reason is for the level shifts. One, it makes the DA arcs faster to zip through, and 2, the level shifts help get you into some of the higher level iTrials. Most of the time, other folks are spamming judgement before I do, generally making it useless anyway, and interface...I know it works...but I don't really miss it if it's not slotted. And lores are very useful for various trials and such. Once I get all t-3, then I check on the shard collection for the alpha, and by the time I get t-3 in all, I have enough shards to make the t-4, but I tend to have to wait an additional week to get another notw to craft the t-4. Then I t-4 the others in close to the same order: Lore, Destiny, Hybrid, Judgement, interface.
Octogoat Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I. Do: musculature, diamagnetic, t4 both then assault t4, ion, lore t4, ion t4
Troo Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Level shifts are the priority. Alpha, Destiny and Lore T3 before anything else. "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum
