  1. I'd have to agree, if I want attention, I'll grab provoke. There are times enough that I *don't* want to pull attention from my minions - such as when you actually start playing a MM and have one weak minion sitting there. Not enough to really use bodyguard effectively, and *you* don't have any way to boost your survival. Plus there are attacks (I'm thinking necro specifically - if I'm using life drain, it's likely because I need health half the time, not aggro. Aggro would be the exact opposite of what I needed.) Necro attacks need ... many things, but this wouldn't hit the top 10 for me. At most, along these lines? Let them take taunt enhancements, but start out with no taunt itself. You want it as a ST that deliberately taunts, you put a taunt enhancement *in* it.
  2. Not to mention it leads to teams either not *knowing* what you bring - or expecting you to have things turned off that you find helpful and know how to use. Just bad ideas all around.
  3. I don't *think* Martial will fit the look you're going for, but it's been a while since I've looked at the animations. You may want to look at them (and the alternates) and see if it fits the feel for the character.
  4. They're different from the normal game experience we've probably all done to death. So it makes sense.
  5. I would. Raaaaaagh! *starts throwing things.*
  6. So... you want to remove the echo maps all together? That's what it sounds like. No thanks. And I don't think "space" is a problem. The maps being there do not preclude "more changes later." You may not like them or find them interesting. That's fine, you don't have to go there. They hurt nobody by existing. As far as doing "anything fun?" Fun's defined by the person having (or not having) it. The old Dark Astoria is a big part of several characters, for me. As is Galaxy. (By the way, as far as "moving the badges to the official maps," where would you move the Galaxy badges? There's no non-Echo version of it. The tutorial's not the same.) Not to mention several of the badges have specific relevance to *those* maps - and, of course, getting both Atlas and Echo:Atlas gives a specific badge of its own, as well.
  7. Missed this - this is actually the AE badge (Thrill Seeker) that's in all AE buildings, and doesn't give the zone as a location to TP to (since it's not a "zone exploration badge."
  8. Heh. Early (single digit issues, probably 3 or 4, don't think redside was around yet) in the game, I had someone insist that controllers didn't have Empathy and they needed "a healer." ... as I was standing there (already invited and part of the team) on my Ice/Emp controller.
  9. So, let me ask you something. How many alts do you have? Yes, it's relevant. If you're one of the folks who has a very few, and they tend to keep playing just those so they're at VL 70-80-90+, this might sound like a good idea. However, I'd suspect you'd have a *very* hard time finding people consistently to play that content, since this game does a great job of encouraging alts. Maybe you'd end up with teams of farmers, primarily. 🙂 Even ignoring *creating new content,* I'm not sure how the game would handle scaling to vet levels. Dealing with incarnate levels (which at least show on your character as "+ levels") feels hack-y enough as it is. (And I think it'd be safe to say plenty of people are T3/T4'd out... but how often is the Magisterium run, which caters to that? I think I hear it called for maybe once a week.) That also ignores "how is this handled in regular content?" Are you now (power wise) +50 levels to everything in, say, the ITF? Or are these limited to "VL" content? My POV - the game generally grows "out," adding more content everyone can reach fairly easily, instead of "up" like many MMOs do - there's an occasional bump up for something, but it's rare. Part of that's due to the (thankful) lack of "Gear" - they don't have to introduce the new Armor of ZOMG Awesome and Sword of Superslashy, with new, higher raids that need them, making the last Armor of Really Neat and Sword of Pointiness obsolete. And part of it's tied to the casual ease of teaming - I don't think I've ever felt like I'd have to grind just to see content, which grinds the fun out of games for me.
  10. Use positioning so mobs aren't scattered. Don't jump in right next to the tank and turn on hurricane. Use it to push mobs that are immob'd together, since immobilizes typically have -kd component but no resistance to repel. When possible, use it to pin mobs in place. Remove the repel and you might as well just rename it "vision obscuring cloud."
  11. Bump it to 7:30 (I work 'til then) and I can do either day, otherwise it's sunday.)
  12. Not a problem. If tankers are complaining about it, then whoever's using KB is not using it well. (Or they're just kneejerk complaining, which also happens.) Plus, technically, the option is at character creation. If you don't like or can't use KB properly? Don't pick a set with KB. There. Option at character creation granted.
  13. Ah, yes. Nascar Melee... Mechanics wise, I don't know. Animations/look and feel wise, it's just ... eh, not been that appealing with the random waving about. Plus, well... thanks to the sound, I can't help but call it Nascar Melee.
  14. Dying on one end of the Hollows, with no travel power but sprint, and having to run back from Atlas was ... at least more tedious.
  15. I do believe the devs mentioned they wouldn't let anything sit that long in the future if they could help it.
  16. The only thing useless or pointless is anyone pushing that type of opinion.
  17. Only one I'm saying "not available" for is Saturdays - evening's taken up with another SG then. (Tend to work to 6:30 central during the week, then eat, too....)
  18. 1. You'll note I also mention mind control, not just psi melee. 2. The suggestion expands concepts available for the characters using both. Which can inspire people who didn't like the look of the sets before to play them. Or inspire those who did to make more.
  19. Hey, I hear Blizzard's coming out with an MMO. I wonder if it'll be any good. Think it's their warcraft thing. Wasn't that originally that cartoony RPG they canceled though? >.>
  20. Yay, both of mine are at least 20!
  21. I'd say it's the same thing that has people talk about going rouge and wanting to use Khelds to make angles. Peepel dunt spehl gud.
  22. Again... discussion because of a comment made during a raid. I am not trying to take it anywhere. If I were, this would be down in suggestions with "This is how I think the raid should be changed and why." See, here's the thing when I read this. I've never seen a call for specific powersets. Just roles. "Melee follow Jack, Control target through Jill, Ranged target through Jamie. Go," basically. Not even a call for debuffing anything, or "we need X incarnate power," other than occasionally mentioning a taunter may not be able to be healed, use regen buffs. And even that's not consistently mentioned. Thus my description of "target targeter, hit F, EOE, 123412341234..." for what raids are like, since that's fairly consistent. Yes, if you do something "outside the box" like the all tanker raid, that would come into play, absolutely... but that's not what I'd call a yardstick for the regular experience.
  23. You can always just do it the altaholic's way. Make a bunch that sound even mildly interesting and play them. Use synergistic sets. Use sets that sound like they shouldn't be. Make 20-30. Use dice to determine which sets to pick. This gets around the whole "these sets suck/are powerful" that might not work for you *anyway* and gets you a feel for what's "set" versus what's "dominator." There are, after all, a thousand slots. Might as well put them to good use. 🙂
  24. Oh, did you say something? >.> 🙂 But yeah, it's supposed to be "ask a GM and get slots" from what I've been told (and have done.) Honestly I'd like to have more from the beginning, or have some other way of getting slots added, but *shrug* it is what it is.
  25. Most recent - Ex Caliber. Really, if you have a bad breakup with your ex, make sure she doesn't know where your guns are. Or the plans you were making for a big score somewhere. And really don't break up just *before* said job...
