NPC Trainer for Perez Park (With a Twist!)
Greycat replied to MetaZombie2's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The Hollows is more of a "story zone" - I know it was classified as a hazard zone earlier on, but it's kind of the prototype for places like Croatoa and ("new") Faultline. Besides, earlier on it didn't - had to take a long pre-travel-power run or the "death express" back to Atlas to train. Perez, Boomtown, Crey's, (old) DA are more standard "hazard" zones. (Maybe I should say "classic.") Honestly, I can't say if I'm for or against this. Mostly pointing out it doesn't really fit a "hazard zone" currently. I'm more mildly curious about where the sudden rush of "People should be street sweeping!" is coming from. -
Is there any way for us to learn our Supergroup IDs?

If you have a base passcode set up, it's the number at the end. That's the only way I'm aware of. -
NPC Trainer for Perez Park (With a Twist!)
Greycat replied to MetaZombie2's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I don't think any hazard zones have trainers. -
Well, running up to a woman and going "WOO!" usually gets anything from an odd look to a call to 911. So, really, not missing out on anything there regardless.

Generating salvage and recipes. And yeah, if XP were removed from AE, I could see a migration away. For any whining about "AE babies," those of us who have been around and are recreating characters from live sometimes don't *want* to slog through earlier levels for various reasons (I hate low/mid level mastermind play, for instance.) Don't worry about what other people do. If someone not knowing something bugs (generic) you, educate them.

Well, quite a few do just use standard parts you can swap out (NZXT, for instance, makes... PC parts and cases, which they also sell separately, so why make custom screw-the-customer parts?) Dell (and Aliendell) is just notorious for custom connectors, oddball mainboards, etc.

And to think that at one time, Origin created worlds... >.> The main issue with having any sort of power boost or power effect tied to origin (to me) is that we've got thousands of characters out there who just picked "whatever," or picked a theme - and origin can't be changed. It's in there with AT, primary and secondary. The only thing I can think of that isn't going to affect characters directly in that way, but would be tied to origin (and not, say, locking costume bits behind origin, because *that would be annoying as hell,*) is tying origin in with 1-50 investigations, NPC reactions to you (the Circle does anything from comment about a magic character to trying to ambush them, say) - more gameplay options, in other words. Arc with Crey trying to recruit you as tech (or science,) with "mysterious armored mercenaries" occasionally popping up. Council/Column perhaps for natural, etc. It's a lot of writing work, but it's not something that would be retroactively "unfair" to any particular origin. (And if you didn't want to do them, like any other mission/story arc, you could ignore it.)

It's rare that I even bother worrying about it, honestly. I'm not really playing COH for realism and most of the "problematic" items (where are you carrying a nemesis staff?) are more for early game utility.

And this is why you don't ask for tech advice from Best Buy unless you want something to laugh at. (I still remember someone asking "So what's the difference between parity and non parity memory?" and being told "Parity means you have to put it in in pairs." They haven't gotten better in the decades since.)

Fairly simple, really. I'd like to have some additional parameters for the "target" slash command. Generally used for "targetcustomnext" and searching by name or other status. What I'd like to see are a few options for, say, /targetcustomnext status ####. We can already do this a little with "alive" and "defeated." I'd want to see this expanded with status to things like: - Held - Confused - (maybe just a general "mezzed.") - And custom ones that affect powersets like "Contaminated," "Disinitigration" or the like. Where could this be used? /macro mez targetcustomnext friend status held - Quickly target an ally that's held (or as mentioned "mezzed") for a quick clear mind/clarity/O2 boost to break a status lock. /targetcustomnext enemy status intangible - Just to see if you can *hit* them yet. /targetcustomnext enemy status contaminated - What started bringing this to mind, since Rad's ST attack that does a heal depends on the "contaminated" status to give you that heal, and the little indicator gets lost easily in other effects.

Removing shared XP range limit outside
Greycat replied to Neoplasm's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
*parks lowbies by a hospital in DA where there are no mobs* "54 Incarnate street farm, 3 spots left!" If things like mission/TF "Defeat X enemies " missions were hampered by how close your teammates were, I'd probably be more inclined towards the idea. But it just sounds like it'd end up encouraging nonparticipation. -

Meh. Don't really have an issue with smoke grenade. Curse of Weariness could be cut down, sure - but it should also be *introduced* and the player *told* that for a relatively few V-merits you can get the curse breaker to counter it. I don't think that's ever mentioned, and you have to know about earning V-merits, the Vanguard terminals, CoW itself, etc. to know you have a counter. That's what should be addressed even more. It'd be like having enhancements drop - but the tray's not visible, there's no notification you have them, and you have to go five menus deep to even see mention of them. Malta's exceptionally long stun grenades were in there, as well. Don't really have an issue with Tsoo slows - given all the +hyperrechargepermaeverything builds, something needs to deal with them. Usually my issue with them is the NPC goes zipping away at high speeds. The more irritating thing with the tsoo for me are their darts that just sit there DOTing you - not enough to worry about your health, ever, but interrupting mission items like clicking glowies. -
I want fingers. That aside, getting up to "nicer" detail would be nice. I mean, I played Aion while the game was live and it was night and day (plus, the sort of watercolor backdrop was gorgeous.) There's no need to try to melt video cards these days to get decent looking characters and environments. I wouldn't argue at all with a graphical update - but I also know it would be a *huge* amount of work.

Oh, side thing I'm not seeing in that description. This, to me, sounds like someone was thinking of ATOs / Winter-os. You can use attuned and non-attuned together just fine, as long as everything's in range - you'll get the set bonuses. Where that breaks are the few special sets that, instead of just being able to be used over a full range by being attuned, turn into "superior" versions of themselves (the name itself changes.) For instance, a blaster ATO - Blaster's Wrath. If you look on the market, there's Blaster's Wrath and Superior Blaster's Wrath. The Superior - which is a regular one which has had a catalyst applied to it - can only be slotted/catalyzed at 50. It has superior (heh) values and the set bonuses are also higher - *however,* for the purposes of slotting, the regular and Superior versions are treated as he "same" set, while the set bonus values consider themselves separate sets (so, no, you can't have the set's - say - acc/dam, and the superior set's acc/dam, slotted at the same time.) If it doesn't turn into a "superior" version of itself? Say, for instance, you have Performance Shifter's +Chance for Endurance at level 21 (normal) and a catalyzed Endmod? They'll still work together just fine for set bonuses, even though one's normal and one's attuned.

A thought on "fixing" FF... with an IO set
Greycat replied to EmperorSteele's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Bubble blast? FF melee? FF control? Of course, you can make it an offensive defensive set with binds. "FF you!" *bubbles someone.* "And FF you too!" *force bolt.* >.> -
A thought on "fixing" FF... with an IO set
Greycat replied to EmperorSteele's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Well, FF *does* have some offensive (and semi-offensive, depending on how you see them) options to it. It's not just PFF and three buffs. Force Bolt and Repulsion Bomb are decidedly offensive, Detention bubble is very "depending on how you see it," same with repulsion field and force bubble. Not massive damage dealers, but there is some. Repulsion field getting some damage and debuff probably wouldn't be out of place. -
A thought on "fixing" FF... with an IO set
Greycat replied to EmperorSteele's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yeah, I don't think a *set* specific IO set would really be welcome. There are four ATs that can use it (Def, Corr, Controller and MM.) But that doesn't really make up a *huge* part of the population of characters. About all I could see being done if such a set were introduced would be grabbing them cheap off the AH as converter fuel. Heck, if you have to make a new category for them (because putting them in "Defense" would ... not really work? I think?) you wouldn't even be able to convert. FF could use a bit of love, sure. I mean, there are times I like having some skippable powers, and I do use ones others call "useless," but... yeah, I think folding any changes into the set *itself* would work better. People would have the benefits in the set, instead of hoping they can get their hands on the *set* specific IOs and adjusting their slotting accordingly (which means they'd have to know about them first.) -
No, but it did even it out with the Coyote travel power. Given there's not really an investment needed for either (versus "here, you've been paying us money" on live,) it shouldn't be surprising...

We *already* arrest purse snatchers by setting them on fire, all you need to do is put on the uniform.

.... with how many posts per page? I'm still on page 1... (actually, this one's the start of page 2 for me.) Do we start the abuse now? (Remember. Room 12A is for arguments. Room 12 is abuse.)

If I wanted to play on Thunderspy, I'd be over there. Homecoming takes things at a deliberate pace, tries to be good stewards of the IP and works through their development. That's why I'm here. If I wanted spaghetti thrown on the walls to see what stuck, I'd do it myself and argue with the landlords later.

On Everlasting, there is/was a group running "launch reenactors," including emulating having to pick stamina powers.

So, running the first Hollows arc, second Outcast hideout mission. You retrieve three artifacts. Anyone remember what these were supposed to be hinting at? I'm sure of one, sort of sure of another, and could swear I knew the third once but can't recall it for the life of me... Before we got wings as a costume piece, there was planned to be an EAT called the Avilans (sp) - which, unfortunately, got dropped. Their whole schtik was just "this is the only way we can give you wings that "work" when you fly - and were dropped when they managed to work around that. Kind of wish they'd gotten into the game anyway. The Coralax were, at one point, meant to be an EAT like Khelds and VEATs - digging into that bit of the story. I'm *pretty* sure this points to them. (As does the crate you recover in Striga from the ship the Council hijacked - that Stephanie Peebles has the "Ugh! I hope they don't find more" sort of reaction. Supposed to be the remains of one of the Virtea (sp?), a servant race to the Coralax.) That's the one I don't recall at all. Anyone remember? I don't think this was pointing to an EAT so much as a storyline. (For reference... yeah, I've been interested in Epic ATs a long time. Mentioned EATs at one point or another were Khelds and VEATs (even if VEATs felt kind of thrown in to me,) Nictus, Coralax, Incarnates (no longer an AT,) Avilans and Blood of the Black Stream - which were Egyptian based, not Russian, so...)

I *want* to say something like it was tried and broke things, but that's *very, very* rusty memory. I wouldn't swear to it in a train station, much less court. If possible? Sure. Even if for whatever reason it had to be limited to just "undo last level choices" or something, I think that'd fix things at least half the time.
