AT modifiers are not proof that the devs intended all balancing tradeoffs to be perfectly linear. Please address the actual argument.

I don’t understand why people think balance is defined by having exactly X additional damage per X loss in mitigation. This is a baseless assumption that is the crux of Bill’s entire crusade. The world does not operate on purely linear mathematical systems and I would like to see where the devs stated city of heroes would work solely based on linear equations.

That’s literally not what it says though. It tells you how many of an AT exist, not how many players have made the AT. It just so happens those numbers would be more or less identical for EATs. The point is those are two VERY different numbers for any non-epic AT. If the graph showed how many players have made each AT, it would count me once for every AT. But that’s not what it’s measuring, so instead it counts me once for each EAT but 11 or 12 times for, say, defenders.

Considering you’re literally the first HC player I’ve ever seen mention debt as if it has any noticeable impact at all, I don’t think that will do it.

Specifically make more of the zones like DA in that you can street sweep at 50+3 and I would absolutely use them.

Considering you only need one EAT to capture all possibilities whereas every non-epic AT has a large number of potential combos... this is a misleading statement/chart.

If you could make level 50 hellion minions, they better not give much more xp than rikti monkeys.

Rad blast is phenomenal at proc damage. My rad/rad defender is a “barely any defense investment but instead 4-5 dmg/-res procs in every attack” setup.

A lot of people posting some pretty basic combos that don’t stand out from hundreds of others imo 🙂

Time/*/Power and Time/*/Soul Defenders get so much mitigation so easily. You can survive +4x8 with zero issues and go straight to building for proc damage. Mine is Time/Water though and Time/Ice or Time/Rad or something would be better for mopping up bosses. Other AT’s can be OP with Time too but my Fire/Time corr still needs fighting pool for the easy soft cap.

Just to clarify: you mean their controls lose effectiveness against AV’s and GM’s specifically right? Because that’s the only scenario in which this is true, no?

Yeah I actually like that a powerset choice is an aesthetic choice so disagree there.

My last count of my level 50 characters came out to 61 or 62 I think. All have been fully IO’d with at least t3 incarnates at some point, though ~15 are currently in a gutted state.

Never encountered such a thing. Done enough MSR’s to know it must be anomalous.

Well obviously you can count on others to have it covered as I’ve never regretted not having Clarion in any circumstances.

Everything you say is correct. It’s just not quite adding up to “skippable” to me. When I said I spam it I meant I use it every spawn really - not like it’s part of a single target attack chain. But like I said, as a /beam defender my current TA might just feel like it needs a good quick recharge AoE more than other combos. I tried to proc bomb Cutting Beam once but it was just pure garbage due to its proc rate. (I have a dark/TA troller too but it’s been gutted and shelved for awhile.)

Eh, this seems too absurd to me. Yes, proliferate some of the costume parts? All of them? No.

The question I have is would the proc chance consider the radius of one vs. the other, or is it just the same for all procs whether def debuff or AoE.

I don’t care much about the Lift/Propel side of Gravity. Wormhole is the defining power, followed by Dimension Shift, and both synergize better with things like patch powers. That’s why I think they fit better with controllers - specifically those with a debuff oriented secondary.

Well I for one am spamming acid arrow in AoE settings. Not sure how to process that being wrong when it feels so right. Mine is slotted 4 damage procs and 2 -res. My main TA atm, TA/beam has Vigor atm to justify filling a couple powers with only procs. The lack of a fire ball type power in the primary probably contributes to the usage of acid arrow instead. And I’m not sure how it plays out but I’m not convinced the -Special on new acid arrow isn’t also somehow worthwhile behind the scenes.

I can see being frustrated for Lockdown’s sake. I’ve never procced it due to long recharge making it such an occasional power. I always 5-6 proc Ice Arrow and Acid Arrow and by that time I need set bonuses from the rest of the set. Think I’ve always wound up with 5 Unbreakable Constraints.

Weren’t glue arrow and EMP arrow the only ones to change? Glue arrow was never good at procs to my knowledge, and EMP arrow is probably location based AoE to give it more flexibility now that it’s also a buff power. Acid arrow and ice arrow were always the juiciest proc powers in the set and still are, IMO.

Can we look at getting all the proc monster threads stickied/pinned? They’re easily the most valuable threads in the AT subforums IMO. EDIT: Also I think I just read Myshkin say Acid Arrow - the power that delivers 4-5 damage procs and/or 2 -res procs - is “skippable” now and I’m a little offended 🙂
