Exactly. Powers are NOT balanced solely on level acquired (in fact, they barely are at all in that sense) but on where you get them from. Your epic power pools do not have those worse stats because of when you got them; they have worse stats because they aren't your primary or secondary role. Multipliers affecting damage, endurance cost, recharge, defense, resistance, etc should be best for primaries, then secondaries, then epics, then power pools, then inherents by design. It may seem to make some powers worthless, but power pool attacks just barely edging out brawl is absolutely consistent with the game design going back 15+ years. That said, there is a very obvious preference towards certain pools throughout the history of this game, so the least popular pools (medicine, presence, teleport) should probably get thrown a bone if devs are going to spend time on power pools right now.

Thinking power pools and primary powers shouldn’t be comparable isn’t an opinion. It’s how the game is designed. As far as hasten goes, for a pool power toggle to give that much +recharge, your proposed endurance cost probably needs to be tripled.

Hard no to most of that, Zepp. Again, I’m of the opinion that we should focus on throwing a lil bone to the struggling powers pools without making the entire game even easier.

3 and 4 sound *obscenely* broken unless you have some serious caveats to unveil to us.

It’s fine either way if they want to spread out the hasten buff to other powers, but I don’t think any of that buff should move to any global inherent powers like swift. In a game where basically everybody knows power creep got pretty out of hand, a blanket buff to every single character in the game is not the best solution we can come up with.

Sounds like something that wouldn’t be too OP but would encourage some interesting frankenslotting. You could put it in a Proc bomb power with 5 procs and one of these to get 5 set bonuses.

Converting KB to KD yields a significant improvement to many powers and merits a significant cost, like a slot per KB power. So it’s a no from me.

Concealment gives 3 LotG mules for 3 power choices. One of the better pools in the game for that reason alone 🙂

Agree with others pointing out that it would be much more ideal to create more alternative animations across current powersets than to make a whole new powerset for every minuscule variation. There are tons of new concepts that could be captured with animation alternatives, whether it be beam vs blast, arm cannons, elemental staffs, whatever.

I’ve leveled/incarnated/IO’d multiple masterminds, and each time the characters have done nothing special for me beyond making me want to roll a defender/corruptor with the same support set. Once said toon is rolled, the masterminds get shelved typically.

The only ones I’ve played on HC that I’ve decided deserve to be the butt of many jokes are Assault Rifle and the Mastermind AT.

Indeed, invalidating someone’s personal experiences because of their immutable characteristics is kind of the essence of racism and a handful of other isms.
