  1. Plainguy, I’m afraid I have to reiterate total opposition to any further opt out mechanisms that allow you to continue to put off learning to play the game. It’s not a super hard game, I promise. Sudden Acceleration may be a massive buff that really transformed powers like Bonfire and Tornado, but man did it establish a bad precedent for anti-thinking players to latch on.
  2. I dunno.., I’d think if the brute/tank leads with a solid AoE attack there shouldn’t be any issue. EDIT: unless ofc there’s an aggro cap issue.
  3. Since you robbed the bank already, you’d think the other mission would say mission failed.
  4. It seems to me that the OP’s problem could only be the product of aura suppression if the tank was literally running in, not attacking at all, and hoping for a taunt aura to do his or her whole job.
  5. The feature you are inquiring about is called common sense 🙂
  6. I think of defense as just being a more valuable bonus like recharge, which is also harder to get than resistance or regen, for instance. Such patterns are so common through all the IO bonuses in the game that it is clear they were intentional choices by the developers.

I would never take the S/T immobilize on a dominator, and only occasionally on a controller if the build has room for it due to controllers having next to no other options for single target damage. Especially if my epic choice’s S/T option feels clunky/slow and worse (power blast or mental blast as opposed to fire or ice blast).
  8. Off-topic but I’m still trying to figure out how to play my SR tank right. Sure he doesn’t die, but having to hang out with low health to get to your high damage resistance feels and looks wrong 😕
  9. If we’re going to allow players to opt out of any feature that is challenging to use correctly, I’m not sure why we can’t just give every AT an inherent toggle power with 45% +DEF(ALL) too. Seriously do you guys want this game to have a hint of nuance or not.
  10. All characters have access to DDR at level 50 through ageless. So it’s no more of a hole to “squishies” than mez protection.
  11. I see absolutely nothing in Blaster Dark Blast that needs the slightest buff.
  12. I don’t play with any stormies (myself included) that piss off the team with hurricane, so this sounds like a you issue.
  13. Maybe I was reading it wrong but the values in the inherent always seemed pitifully negligible. Don’t think it’s much help.
  14. People acting like an AT’s usefulness to a team is a relevant metric anymore is a bit questionable. 99% of the game is very easy with any combination of 8 players already.
  15. This is more or less the entire appeal of concealment in PvE nowadays 🙂
  16. Stances are neat... but should probably have some thematic relationship to the set...
  17. Power siphon clearly needs work but it’s only the animation of the big hitter and the ranged attack that keep me from playing the set, personally.
  18. You can get kicked from a team for using a lot of powers badly. Hurricane only stands out because it requires a tiny bit of thought to use correctly.
  19. No because my array of mental health issues do not quite reach sadomasochism levels.
  20. I obviously didn’t think about this hard enough. Probably because life drain is the only primary attack power I would ever take on an MM.

    Power Up

    Not entirely true but yeah. There are no click defense powers like farsight or force fields that can benefit for their entire duration, but all of your defense toggles will still be stronger for the duration of power up. Weave etc. But yeah the power is more for the +damage and +mez duration (though doms hardly need any more of the latter). I’d say having a click buff to all defense in their APPs at all is enough of a gift to the AT though.
  22. I didn’t read all of that but did recently build provoke into an MM for the first time so.. I like the basic idea well enough.
  23. Soul mastery gets power boost and soul storm instead of garbage like oppressive gloom or dark consumption. It’s a fair tradeoff to me all things considered.

    Power Up

    Power boost basically doesn’t boost defense on any power that grants resistance for some intentional reasons others can explain. Same applies to Fade, Ice Shield, etc.
  25. A lot of us don’t consider it to be good design to allow players to opt out of more and more functions that require them to approach gameplay with an ounce of nuance. Hard no.
