Mid's Reborn: Hero Designer
Mopery replied to Metalios's topic in Mids' Reborn Hero Designer's Forum
Mids stopped working and now when I go to the site to download it Firefox tells me there's a Trojan Virus and to beware. I try reloading an old copy and Bitdefender shuts it down. WTH Mids, you were working earlier today?! I just erased 50+ builds trying to get you to work again.... -
What does World of Warcraft do better than Cox?

Sucks? -
I have quite a few top of the line, "money is no limit" built characters. One of each AT and then some. I don't have a ton of Inf, perhaps 300 million on hand on my whole account. Probably enough with merits to make 1 more build, which as an altaholic is generally the goal. Having these things does not interest me enough to play the game on a regular basis. I play for the comradery and the joy of teaming with this awesome community! I don't feel like I absolutely must have the best build, or be the most productive member of the team. I don't mind when the team wipes because we bit off more than we can chew, it's fun giving it our all even if we fail! Sometimes I like doing easy repetitive TFs, sometimes I like doing hardcore "die and we lose" TFs. Never since this game began back in 2004 have I felt like I "need" a certain amount of Inf to make it worth my time to play CoH/CoV/GR. I play games to have fun. If I'm not having fun, then I stop playing and find something else to do with my time. In all this time, I have never played CoH/CoV/GR and not had fun. I've played other games, and when they became a grind, and it became like work... there was always(ok, except 2012-2019) Paragon City to return home to. Like many others, there is no way to explain the feeling of loss I had when I couldn't log in and just fly around my beloved city. Some players will understand exactly how I feel, others will not, and that's okay! We all play this game for our own reasons, I enjoy making characters and can't play any character for long if I don't like the concept/costume/bio. Some players want their characters to be maxed out to the nth degree or they can't stand them, even if their costume is generic and their name is xX LEGENDMAN Xx or w/e. As long as they enjoy it, then good for them. Long story short, I don't know why anyone plays this game, only they know the answer to that question. P.S. - If there is a character named xX LEGENDMAN Xx out there, no offense was meant, you do you, buddy!

I want [A Peeling], where your clown MM throws banana peels over an aoe and everything slides on it with no inertia(think icy pond effect) with a high chance of falling(and sliding more). And of course [Cream Pie Toss] and [Flower Squirt].

My post was a shallow attempt at humor regarding the verbose and pedantic OP, if only to say that it's really all just a matter of opinion.

Here I was thinking I saw it in the pillar directly ahead of "TheZag-seven" with the diagonal shadow, making a Z-7 shape all merged together... Oh well. That's pareidolia for you!

One of these days I'll get around to making an AE arc utilizing all of my Abraham Lincoln characters, using the storyline I imagined to explain why I have 20+ of the damned things. I shall call it, "A Lincoln Time", and it will be the glorious story of our Heroes(and/or Villains) aiding Future Lincoln in his task of stopping all the other Lincolns(from parallel and perpendicular universes) from creating a series of paradoxes which would inevitably lead to the annihilation of all existence! But I digress... Bios are totally worth making, and the real challenge is making a compelling story in less than 1024 characters. I love seeing characters with great names, bios, and costumes. Powersets are usually secondary to concepts, for me.

My Fire/Storm/Earth controller(Elemental Mage) lays down aoe control like nobody's business. He also destroys a blue bar faster than just about any other build I've ever played.

Potentially possible predicament.

I have to recommend trying Thugs/Kin. There's nothing quite like popping Gang War + Burn Out + Gang War + SB + FS, perhaps with a Transfusion and Barrier in there to make sure the lil punks survive. Life becomes a sea of drugged up fast moving homies steamrolling everything in their path. Thematically, you're a Drug Lord, giving your minions all the "good stuff" and not caring about whether they live or die, there are always more willing to take their place.

That mission(and any mission where the next mission is at the exact same door) always reminds me of the scene from Life of Brian where the Legion packs into the small house to search for Brian, find nothing, and then come right back again only the 2nd time find a wooden spoon. Then they knock on the door a 3rd time and the old man says, "You haven't given us time to hide yet!".

Calling people foolish morons does not rise to the level of discussion or even argument, it's just plain ad hominem.

Back in 2019 I was reminded of the common name of the first two Praetorian TFs when players do them back to back, didn't take long before my newest alt was born! He's a Gravity/Time Controller who was once just a normal Ape, wandering in the jungles searching for bananas until curiosity led him into a strange cave, where he found Oranbega... Unable to find his way out he stumbled upon a strange set of magical items, a Cloak, Belt, and Boots, which he put on. Donning these items changed his life, he met a ghost who led him to a magical tome(and then taught him to read), and soon regular Ape became ApeMage!

So good it has to be a Nemesis Plot! -
I had to defend the game's honor folks...

Someone figures out a clever way of becoming OverPowered in a game... soon everybody knows about it, makes the same build, and then acts like they personally discovered it through detailed and complicated calculations with near Herculean effort whenever the devs find it to be an outlier in need of balancing and fix it. Hundreds or thousands of players have a good cry, type their fingers to the bone begging for things to not change, and in the end ragequit. Seen it so many times that my violin strings popped playing sad music to soothe them all... -
Is it wrong that I first read the title as "Bananable ERP"?

Exactly! I think "the Coming Storm" was actually the "Korean Business Model", that being: 1. Intercourse your loyal customer base. 2. Tell them to just accept it, to "not dwell on the how or why". 3. Remind them that they've just released a shiny new game that they'd like you to play! 4. There is no #4. 5. Refer to #1.
