Are Porters in Sky Raiders interesting or just half baked?

Sorcerers teleport and heal and are annoying in a good way.  The first Tsoo to target, but their teleporting makes them hard to take out.

After fight Tsoo my team fought sky raiders.  The Porters teleport around but no one seems to care about them.  They  don't seem to do anything special except teleport.

Is there something I am missing with Porters?  Is there a way to make there teleporting more meaningful?

They teleport. Then they shoot at you. Then they teleport again.

Truth in advertising.

They should teleport in from nowhere, hit you with, like, a stealth strike, then port away to nowhere again. They could do that all throughout your mission. Make them harriers.  Holds and immobilizes can be their weakness. That would make them more interesting.

Malta takes the same technology and gives it to Gunslingers and they are pretty brutal.

It's a good thing they haven't figured out that promoting Sappers to Bosses would ruin a lot of people's respective days.

Wait, never mind, forget I said anything.

Edit:

I'd love to have a thought bubble over the head of Sorcerers and Gunslingers when they teleport away and one of my toons uses CT to emerge still in their face a moment after they land. 🤣

In fairness, teleporting mobs seem to have longer range than CT (I'm looking at you Rikti), but most of the time they don't use it.

They're not too terribly bad, but they're minions. Sorcerers are LTs.

Porters also come in LT flavors, but the only difference is that they hit harder and have more health.  No difference in abilities otherwise.

At least the LT Wing Raiders get flamethrowers.

Currently playing on Indomitable as @Zork Nemesis; was a Protector native on live.

I've already confessed my perverse love of all things related to teleporting.

It would be great if these guys -- named after the power -- were any good at it.

(Afterthought:) What if they could use TP offensively? Give us non-PVPers a reason to not regret taking IOs with TP protection. I'd enjoy that!

Come to think of it, giving them all CT's faster activation could be a simple, but still interesting (if subtle) buff for mobs that teleport.

Or it could just make them more annoying for folks who already find them annoying.

Or both. 😄

I love a good porter, a lot more than stout or yet another medicinal IPA.

Oh... those Porters. I find them annoying because they grab your targeting and then zap out of range, leaving you exposed to attacks from the others until you retarget. OTOH, nothing is as much fun as a last shot at a Porter just in time for them to pop away and "defeat" wayyyy over there...

As for Sorcerers, same thing except their effin' heals. The only thing I hate more than a Sorcerer is two Sorcerers, healing each other... and the only think I hate more than two Sorcs is a Sapper. Even Quantums rank a little above those.

The porting makes them a bit harder to deal with, worse than runners; you try and shoot/hit them only to find them gone so now you have to re-target.  Just a simple little wrinkle on the usual grunts who'll stand there and try and hit you or whatever.

Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game...

You don't already regret not having a one slot boost to 3% to defense or resist?

Porters' strategy is luring dumb NPCs into another room where they will be immediately killed.

Failable escorts are the bane of my existence. I just struggle to keep them alive unless the difficulty is cranked way down. I taunt everything that moves but they still somehow get killed. Feels bad man.
