  1. Other than indom, I'd kind of see that "capture the flag" bit as a fast merit farm TBH. I can't think of the last time I actually ran across an enemy player in RV on Everlasting, even with going through a full from-nothing pillbox capture. Run from one side to the other ten times for 35 merits? Sure! If there's no cooldown (or even a short one - where I'd just do pillbox captures and get my pet,) I'd be fairly merit-rich in next to no time. Honestly, I don't think RV *needs* much, if anything, added. It's got the main "zone game" of trying to control the zone before inversion, which awards points *and* gives decided areas to focus fighting on, it's got the heavies (again, a focal point for fighting, as well as for those interested in snagging badges,) it's got AV fights once a certain number of pillboxes are taken over. Plus, as mentioned, it *is* the zone where people get to fight at full power (which, itself, is probably a big part of the popularity.) Much more just starts getting more complicated and unfocused.
  2. This. 100%. The raids take a little bit of coordination and are mostly (other than the pullers) button-mashing. It's more a regular social event than something that requires a lot of thought or coordination to do successfully. Frankly, I can't think of the last time we had "too many lowbies." Even my incarnates will run around trying to find something to hit before yet-another-Judgement wipes out the group I'm running towards.
  3. ... why, when you can just ask a GM for more slots?
  4. Well, given that *is* what one of the factions is aiming for, in a way...
  5. Late in the game for this, I know, but I'd still like a slash command or Null option to just disable fast snipe if I want. I *want* the higher damage and longer range... pretty much always, even with the interrupt and longer cast time. Just something to consider for the future.
  6. Put Fusionette, Lady Jane, General Z on leashes to keep them from running off... I'm not housebreaking them, though. (But yeah. An easier way to monitor their suicidal tendencies would be great.)
  7. This, pretty much exactly. COH had done a great job of growing "out" rather than "up" - we didn't have the "typical MMO" model of "OK, next release, expansion to level +10, your gear is now obsolete, you need the Shiny Sword of Slashiness +6 to raid for the Fancy Armorpants in the new raid..." Meanwhile, that's what was trying to be forced onto COH with the Incarnate system. First tier, get up to +4. Oh, next the Coming Storm and NextTypeOfXP to get the NEXT five Incarnate tiers. Once that was done, DImensionless and Yet More Incarnate Tree Growth. Then whatever followed them and ANOTHER branch/+5 Incarnate powers, probably with their own XP and salvage... If they'd been allowed to continue, honestly, *this* would probably have killed the game for me. It and the Coming Storm would have gone hand in hand in that - I didn't like the coming storm storyline that was revealed, and I would not have liked "OK, we're going to try to jam some more levels in here for you to grind."
  8. That's not really a Siren's Call mechanic. Siren's Call is about bounty and fighting in the ... stand around and stare at the other side until someone suddenly attacks for some reason (er, zone battles) mechanic. The missions you describe are part of every *other* PVP zone except RV. Siren's Call's draw - for me, at least, pre... multiple changes - was that everyone was closer in range (being the 20-30 zone, versus the very wide in terms of ability 15-25 of BB, and the non-alignment specific T9fest of Warburg... pre "5 extra levels of power when exemped" tweak to exemping. Siren's was the zone I was in the most, and had the most fun in. The zone missions you describe were "an aspect of the zone," yes, but as unique to it as having NPCs in the zone as well. And no, I don't think it would help RV. RV's already "the most popular" PVP zone, since everyone's at 50. And for those of us not on "the PVP server," adding that mechanic frankly wouldn't do much (and would probably lead to annoyance, since if it's anything like SC's bounty, you could lose its "temporal points" by running a mission if you realize you're fighting at a disadvantage.) Honestly, I don't know what you're trying to accomplish with the suggestion. You admit in the first post that RV's already the most popular zone, so... you want to move (I'm *assuming* you don't mean "remove from one and move to another" despite saying "move") a mechanic from a zone that's not as popular any more there? Since part of the premise seems to focus on Siren's not being as popular, why not try to find a draw *for* Siren's, instead? Lord knows it needs help - the bounty and zone control aren't worth fighting for, the bounty's lost when going into door missions, and the "zone fights" between NPCs are slow and uninteresting, with the two sides basically staring at each other for 10-15 minutes before something triggers an attack.
  9. And... a few more boxes, a few more finds. ... yes, I did have duplicates. When I found some collectors edition boxes at Big Lots, my friends got the codes for the extra goodies. Still missing my Architect and Going Rogue boxes...
  10. No to "sharing" the selection. You'll completely screw up slotting this way - picking both the human and Nova forms gives more spots for ranged IOs (and their associated bonuses.)
  11. I *really* wish it were. Or that we had the ability to at least pre-set permissions that items would inherit right away, so if there was (for some reason) a storage or enh rack that needed special permissions, you could tweak *just* that one. As opposed to, say, a setting for "spend raid points."
  12. Most recruiting I do is for short term things - typically monster hunting teams. If I *am* recruiting for that, yes, I'll confirm with whoever's highest and give them the star. Or if someone asks and they're higher (and it'll help,) absolutely - since at least for GM hunts, I want people at full power. TFs? I rarely recruit since I'm doing my own thing at my own pace, but if I do and I'm not at a high enough level everyone should be fully powered at for it, or close to, I'll see if it matters to anyone else. As long as they don't suddenly turn it into a "rush everything, finish the TF in 5 minutes" run.
  13. So, finally got into a bigger apartment after a few years. Which means getting things out of storage I haven't seen in a while. One of which was this rolled tube. Couldn't remember what was in it right offhand. Well... I even had a frame handy, since I'd bought some other artwork and it was larger than what I'd initially wanted... and the first frame I picked up fit this just right. Also found my old prima guide. So, two copies of that...
  14. While I think there are some things that can be tweaked... I don't think this change would help, personally. I'd rather take and use the AOE hold early (open with it, stick the ST on any boss in teh group so he's held, too) than hope my pet's going to do what I want it to do.
  15. Which IOs were you trying to put in? You say "damage set IOs," but that's not a thing on its own. Were they Ranged damage, targeted AOE, melee damage, snipe, ? (Or just the set/sets you tried.) Edit: I see what you're talking about. Looking at the power in game, it's only taking Slow or Immobilize sets. Which, compared to (say) the /elec blaster secondary, is a much narrower set of IO sets (/elec's T1 immob takes ranged and universal damage.) Not sure if there's a reason behind it, no.
  16. The twinshot "tutorial" is just ... annoying. I don't normally complain about having to run around for missions, but for some reason this one just *irks* me. Honestly, I'm an altaholic. It'd be nice if she were just as optional (go up to her and click if you want to run it) as the old starter missions if there's any other characters on an account.
  17. OK, "bug" is probably stretching it for this - more something that hasn't been undone, but - When Pocket D was opened and the Paragon Dance Party was shut down, a "bum" NPC was put by the N. Steel, IP and Talos doors. He basically spouts dialog if someone's near to the effect of "Yeah, they closed it, now leave me alone." The PDP was reopened on live, as I recall... but anyone going by and hearing the bum would be discouraged of even checking out the doors. It's really a *minor* thing, but could his dialog either be cut or replaced - possibly with some complaining about the ravers in the underground club or some such?
  18. No idea. If we had something like CIT, I could look... That said, I tend to *use* it (and have 100+ alts,) so probably under 1b.
  19. Well, they know the *badge* is there. How many ever tried the door? At least the bum next to the other three doors (N. Steel, Talos, Indy Port) no longer says "Yeah, it's closed, go away." (Which was one of the draws of the PDP *and* PD at one point - travel shortcuts.) Also, Pocket D's big draw is being faction neutral (plus, really, having an arena (though I don't know how much that's used) and the chalet. But part of the reason some RPers *don't* go there is the chat spam - too much to keep up with - and, really, Pocket D having a bit of a "reputation" (deserved or not) of being a place where you go to have embarrassing mistells with a catgirl. I'd hesitate to use Studio 55 as a comparison, since Goldside population, well... I could form a league of everyone Goldside (not that there's reason to) and still have room to invite 40 more people, most days. Edit: Actually, I was wrong. The bum doesn't say anything if you CLICK On him, but if you're nearby: So there's actual, active *discouragement* to try to go in and check it out and go to Pocket D instead. That should probably be changed.
  20. I get the whole "villains can't get to the PDP, so Pocket D is more active" bit. That said, I wouldn't mind an explore badge down there. In fact, put a badge by each of the entrances that can combine into Voltron... or maybe just an explore accolade.
  21. I almost want to say there should be a cost for it, but (as I recall, at least) there's not one for converting reward into hero merits or emps into... the other thing I can't remember the name of, so even if INF is treated differently with fees and such for other things, I think it'd be perfectly fair to have this just be a straightforward no-fee "storage salvage." Not that I'm at the point of needing it on any characters - my inf tends to get spent on yet another alt. 🙂
  22. I want to say it was tried and broke something, but I can't say I'm 100% (honestly, even 75%) on that memory. I wouldn't be *surprised* if a slot-move broke something... we've heard how the code is, after all! I wouldn't argue with it being implemented if it's at all feasable, though.
  23. Put the melee in the same position as the squishy. No mez protection. HOwever, he has to move into melee range to do anything. The squishy is attacking. Debuffing, putting holds or confuses or whatnot on the ink men. Debuffing them. Blinding them. Dropping their ToHit. Making them flop around on an ice patch. They get the advantage of attacking *first.* What is the melee doing? Stuck there not able to attack because they're mezzed and only have melee. So, sorry. Have to disagree. Melee gets status protection built in so they can do *anything at all.*
