  2. i don’t think this will be approved even though it would be great fun. instead, fight an enemy group which have confuse powers in a team of 8 and turn all mez shields off pvp mode activated

  4. i suppose the answer is to build teams yourself to manage expectations. if i’m recruiting for a speed run i note on LFG that it’s 50+ / no MM’s (if someone is 40+ and pretty much fully slotted i’ll make an exception) some people are online for casual play, some are online for power play
  5. what level are you up to so far? i‘ve been soloing mine and up to around 22 so far, i have a reasonable attack chain but think it’ll really come alive when i have both lightning rod and shield charge
  6. poison/sonic defender would generate absurds amount of -res. it would deal close to zero damage though i made a poison/fire which i found to be a good middle ground. fitting in a few -res procs adds to the fun. goes great with a kin on the team
  7. does it need to be a scrapper would be my first thought i build a lot of scrappers on test for a laugh, mace is incredibly damaging - especially with the scrapper ATOs - amazing ST and also impressive AoE
  8. think and adapt like killing foes with stun first? i play solely squishies and don’t think being stunned is a big deal, the game has been watered down a lot over the years individual characters have become magnitudes more powerful than ever intended, yet changes are made to make the game even less challenging, seems odd to me
  9. i think it’s a shame they changed it, enemy groups are generally too easy and don’t pose a much of a challenge thesedays
  10. i believe mez attacks uses to de-toggle everything but for some reason they changed it
  11. i had an archery/energy blaster back on live, with boost range you could pretty much play the entire game whilst sitting comfortably under the statue of atlas 😁
  12. i like to optimise my attack chain by thinking about which order to bash out my powers, especially on my mind/fire dom which has very fast animations. i haven’t put much more thought into it though as i think it’s such a minimal gain that it’s not worth thinking about in my opinion people would get more out their characters by learning the best time to use their powers, mob positioning for survival and which targets to attack to make best progress
  13. fire tends to be the most potent secondary for poison, i made one last year after reading this good guide on poison/fire defenders: reasonable damage of fire combined with low animation times allows for good progress. 5 slotting dominate in the psi mastery with procs makes for a fast and highly damaging attack chain

  15. this is a great point - CoH is very much a “walk into town and see what’s going on” type of game rather than “prep for battle”
  16. i find LFG is pretty good for most things - i’m a european player so if there‘s an event i want to play that’s less popular (ASF etc) i’ll wait until friday or saturday evening when i know there will be a large playerbase in-game voice would be a nice feature but i’m not sure if it would break the CoH ‘feel’
  17. it’s already incredibly strong on a dom, i can‘t see a reason to change it

  19. i solo’d most of the levels on my poison/fire defender - incredibly powerful and an exciting character to solo
  20. i sample war mace/shield often also, which has better damage but there’s just something so appealing about elec armour, maybe the icon colours? making me tempted to actually level one.. for WM tank, i believe the tank AoE bonus doesn’t impact crowd control as it already has the maximum permitted arc, but happy to be corrected. the bonus increase is another great positive and can really bring some sets to life

  22. i often play a war mace / elec scrapper on test to compare it with an elec armor / war mace tank - the scrapper crit ATO works really nicely with WM i find. not as survivable as a tank but great fun being able to dish out some serious damage if damage is your priority, i’d go scrapper, if you want to survive a bit better, tank would be the way to go in my opinion
