  1. I slightly disagree. Invuln itself was not that fun at game launch when we had Unyielding Stance until i3. IYKYK. But at least teleport got lots of use.
  2. Also that use case Yomo mentioned of stacking stun mag with Oppressive Gloom, slotting a Triumphant Insult chance to stun proc would only result in a 17.54% chance to proc, which is like rolling a six sided die and trying to get a 6 every time.
  3. Shoal Rush is not a team heal. It's an AoE defense/movement speed debuff. Since there's a number of attacks in water blast that already can slot an Achilles heel -res proc, it's not really needed as most endgame builds have enough to hit debuff where the -defense isn't that necessary. Now if the character is designed for solo, it becomes more useful. The -speed aspect of it doesn't reduce recharge speed so it's not that useful unless your trying to kite mobs for mitigation. Given the speed mobs die in this game that might not be that useful. So of all marine affinity powers shoal rush is easily the best to skip if you have a tight build. The healing power that marine affinity gets which also debuffs enemy damage is called Soothing Wave.
  4. As someone who's been in CQC clearing houses in Iraq, I don't like people behind me either.
  5. Welcome. Play through your regular contacts, there's some great missions there and you'll get rewarded reward merits for completing storyarcs. Look up @Gulbasaur's good mission guide. Lookup @AboveTheChemist's post for badge pop menus (it really helps you find badges and explore the zones easier, and the post walks you through step by step how to do it). If you want to play a MM and have a full keyboard look up @Sandolphan's keybinds system as it greatly improves my pet control. If you wanna play a PB or a WS ( I recommend typically waiting on them til you have a better feel of the game), @Laucianna has a great guide for Kheldians that can help you maximize their output. Radios/newspapers are infinitely generated missions but they have no real depth to them. Download the CoH modder tool to install vidiot maps. Download mids reborn, but don't build super expensive builds on the production servers until you've tested it out (there's a test server where enhancements including IOs are free and you can experiment with builds to get a feel for a toon before you commit to it). Also when you see people's builds on the forums, don't just blindly slot our someone else Don't farm up your first few characters. The biggest thing about CoH has always been using creativity to make new characters. That said once you have max level character, playing it can help you find your other characters. Content quality - gold > red > blue Content quantity - blue > red > gold Use the help channel in-game, there's a Homecoming Discord to use for the community of you want. Otherwise the GM staff is pretty responsive to issues you encounter, especially @GM Impervium. Don't be afraid to play whatever character concepts you want, it's your time and fun. You don't have to play a flavor of the month. Also if you want to learn how to never be poor in-game, check the marketing section of the forums and read the guides there. Lastly have fun, and don't be afraid to fail.
  6. Cool beans. Most of us have three accounts a piece as well. If you wanna pay for the game, we appreciate that, and you can like a lot of us do by paying for the servers via the monthly donation window. There's new powersets, missions, storyarcs, costume pieces, prestige costumes, vanity pets, events, and base items that have been added, not to mention the new AT that was added when Homecoming was known as SCORE. We have a 64-bit exe, and a bunch of work under the hood as well that has been done to a dead game that was brought back for a second go. If you want more features added to the game volunteer your time and expertise to help the dev team out as they have an open application out on these forums whether that be becoming a dev, gm, or tester. Stay safe out there.
  7. Not going to happen. If you want more xp, farm on a low pop servers with ruined city map like in the old days. I personally am not a fan of reducing xp/influence in AE myself, or getting rid of the option to get double influence for shutting xp off (that happened many years ago), but we live with it. One of the benefits to it taking longer to farm a 50, is that more often than not you get more very rare and PvP enhancement recipes to drop which actually can be a net increase of influence over what it used to be. As far as leeches in LFG or other channels, add them to your ignore list.
  8. Doc Buzzsaw identifies as a circular saw....
  9. This suggestion has been requested several times before, even including using the name Commander, however it failed to gain any significant traction.
  10. A solution to the MDC in the bowl is to run an instanced raid and say you'll boot people that summon them. Does a targeting macro by name only select Hami buds that can be killed? I guess I've never tried as well typically just rain down enough AoE that they all die within about a minute anyways. I personally haven't noticed many people keeping them out during raids (on Everlasting), mostly just while we're waiting for the raid to start. Perhaps your Raid Leaders can ask people to dismiss them?
  11. It's a little difficult to understand what you're after given the sentence fragment paired with another thought. Fire farming you want 90% fire resistance and a minimum of 45% fire defense. In general content fire is probably around the 5th or so most common damage type, while smashing, lethal, energy are easily the top three. Depending on what content you run though the results can vary. Fire armor was designed originally to be a resistance based tank with a quick heal and more damage to help mitigate incoming damage by killing faster. Given that I like to ensure that you have substantial slow resistance (luckily this is accomplished by slotting winter IOs that you likely slot for the added fire defense they provide), and have a decent amount of recharge to ensure maximal usage of healing flame and consume. If you're able to have a decent positional defense as well that can be useful, but be advised that fire armor doesn't have native DDR so your defense is extremely susceptible to defense debuffs. Also you'll want to include IOs to provide KB protection given that fire armor only gets 1 mag protection with temperature protection. As far as builds go, I'd suggest trying to make one yourself. Otherwise there's quite a few rad/fire brute builds available on the forums if you search for them that you can compare what you get. You can post your build here along with the goals you have, what kind of content you plan to run and at what difficulty and we can provide you with some tips as necessary.
  12. As someone that has soloed the Moonfire TF with a Warshade. I'm all for Arakhn getting forms to swap into, just so that she's not always in human form running an OP Inky Aspect. That stun is for real when you have no inherent mez protection and can only bring 20 breakfrees and base buffs.
  13. Man I wish we could use fort on ourselves. I need to try the server this AI is playing on.
  14. My bare bones defensive toggle slotting is usually an attuned LOTG 7.5% and two +5 Shield walls (def and def/end). As others have said when slotting defensive powers, enhancing end reduction, and recharge (especially for things like Far Sight). Also defensive powers like far sight, invincibility, mindlink, etc. slotting some tohitbuff is useful too.
  15. I am one of the few who play with multiple builds and build swap macros and I wish it didn't pop a CD on things like TT, ATT and the like but I can live with it. I have 4 characters that I use with 3 builds a piece, and I haven't no objections to allowing the max number of builds to expand, however I see it as a low priority suggestion. +1.
  16. I keep one set of each PvP IO as attuned versions that I reuse for toons as they level. Once that toon gets to 50, I unslot them, stick them back in the base and reslot lvl 50+5 versions of the same PvP IO back in place to get the maximum value. Since the non-attuned PvP IOs exemp down, the sets of stunned ones I have only serve my low level toons.
  17. Step one is roll a new character. Step two is get to the appropriate minimum level or higher for them. Step three is talk to the contact and accept the arc. Step four is run the missions it gives you Step five is roll a new character and don't again.
  18. Every time I've played a Hardcore game when the character dies. It's dead. That said I've been reading comics for going on 40 years now, and I've seen more than my share of characters die and get resurrected via all sorts of means such as multi versal events, time travel, magic, healing tears, getting dragged back out of hell, etc. Due to that playing an Ironman run in a superhero game doesn't make much sense as characters tend not to stay dead. I mean look at the Death and Return of Superman from 1993 for example.
  19. This is what I was thinking. I mean most teams of veteran players would of realized that someone hospitalized and would checkfire DPS until you got back in.
  20. In that case @Snarky is good to go for a couple of centuries as he gives out quite a few blood borne pathogens.
  21. I'm guilty of having owned this album back in 98. My old garage band at the time learned a few songs off that album: The Kids Aren't Alright, Why Don't You Get A Job, and Pretty Fly For A White Guy. That was back when I was lvl 14.
  22. Hello Invincibility. It does the same thing. That's fine, but as @twozerofoxtrot is getting at, there's not much that's going to kill you with the buffs. Especially if you're on a team and running barrier cycles. Solo the maybe the radial piece is better if you're soloing ITF's with lots of stacking defense debuffs, but you'll be in good shape anyways with the high resistances. Adding damage will help you kill mobs especially solo quicker. https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Purple_Patch If you're using it as a mule oh well, but its pretty unreliable as you know. Its hard to suggest anything without knowing what powers you have.
  23. 70 random IO's have been gifted to strangers in Atlas, Mercy, Peregrine Island, Grandville, and Pocket D on Everlasting. Now I have room I can start crafting more.
  24. I kinda wish it would allow us to target teammates as well. Figure it could help out an ally being overwhelmed by white capping to them easy and knock anything down around it or just a lazy means of getting closer to them for whatever reason.
  25. Like Pete Rose, I've only ever bet on myself.
