Water Blast Storm Summoning?

I have an oddball concept for a Water Blast Storm Power character and cannot decide what AT to do it with.  Any Ideas?  I assume Water Blast is a given ,,, and Storm Summoning? Probably? Is there another Storm set?  Or Wind set?  So Corruptor?  Defender?

Defender. If you're going to be a Stormie then accept the fact you're going to be a Stormie. Everything else is just a filler between the glory that is cosplaying Thor.

 

So Defender so you can Storm sooner.

 

Personally I liked Ice more than Water despite the fact Storm/Ice's AoE was weak sauce. But it was a clear case of missing out on Ice's ST when on the Water and missing out Water's AoE when on the Ice.

Water/Storm corrupter all the way. Prefer a little more dps myself. I have one on Torchbearer, and it is fun. I’ve always liked storm, you just have to play it smartly.

My 2nd or 3rd character, long about Issue 3 (Texas Twister, now The OriginalTexasTwister), was created as part of a KB group (Storm/Energy Def) from the Forums.

 

Two of us (lvl 5 or 6 at the time) simultaneously Gale'd some poor Hellion off the top of a hill in the Hollows.  I never did figure out where he got to, and I did go looking for him.

Late?  Defenders get Hurricane at 12.  You can immediately go hunting red bosses in Steel Canyon; Hurricane renders them comically helpless.

100% agree - Scourge doesn't benefit it meaningfully, plus freezing rain and hurricane coming much earlier means that a Defender is "ready to go" much earlier than on a Corruptor. Obviously, if you're levelling slowly that's more of an issue, but I found that levelling a storm/water defender was pretty painless, playing more like a soft-control dominator than a support spec per se.

With the KB->KD and a FF+Recharge, Gale is really close to being a must-have T1 power.  If Storm didn't require so much slotting, I bet Gale would be a decent Annihilation -Res mule as well.

I usually slot it with the two procs I mentioned, and a KB/Acc from either set (gives the same movement speed bonus).  I also slot a FF+Rech and a KB:KD in Tornado, and a third FF+Rech somewhere else, if the build allows, but NOT in Hurricane because I've never seen it trigger off that.  In any event, 3x FF+Rech in an attack cycle seems to net perma 100% recharge in combat, or as close as you can count on given a random proc.

Hurricane is another power that gets a bad rap because people don't know how to use it. I love storm for it's glorious chaos, but requires finesse when teaming.
