On live I used my beta toon, Ironik, as my forum name. But I first went online (such as it was back then) in 1985 when it cost money to send each character, so I used my real-life nickname Trike as my BBS/Usenet handle.

I do not recall my handle from the Live forums, and even if I did I only posted sporadically so I doubt anyone would remember. I only played the first year or so, from a week or so after initial release to sometime around the launch of Issue 4.

On Live I was Libbyator on Freedom. Started in March (or May?) 2005.

 

In Character Creation EVERY name I came up with for an indefinite amount of time was already taken and so I looked around the room for random ideas. There was the cat, "Libby," and my Terminator movie poster. And if THAT name was taken I might just quit for the day. Or the week.

 

But now, new name new game.

My initial toon, long before her identity was stolen by that hack in Atlas Park, was Flamestryke and she was almost a 1:1 costume of Flambeaux.  (Flambeaux has an NPC-only costume piece).  She took my job!

I still have yet to see some people (Trow Spines), some people I know have passed, and others I remember. Ironik, Ironblade, Luminara, BillZ, Christopher Robin, PK, etc, etc, etc.

Never used forums back in the golden age of online gaming. Didn't conceive of the utility.

 

But I still use the same account name as I did back then. Ironically it's not this one. I started this as an alt account and it was almost immediately co-opted by my significant other. But because it aligns to my global in-game I kept it for the forums.

 

I still get confused sometimes reviewing support tickets or copying characters to beta.

I can't remember. It was either Ukase or Ukaserex. At some point during live, I changed my global from Ukase Rex to Ukase. But I don't believe there's an option to change the forum name, so, it was probably always Ukaserex.
