randomperson Posted October 9 Posted October 9 When I first started doing content in Cimerora, I always did the Surgeons first. But after a while it just got to be too much of a pain to always separately target them. Also depends how much my build depends on mitigation. If I go after the surgeon first, but leave the boss unmitigated, he might kill me while I'm distracted. 1
Scarlet Shocker Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I'm kinda surprised nobody went here: All the best chemistry jokes argon
roleki Posted October 9 Posted October 9 When I farm the walls in Cimeroa with my Fire/FF controller, my opening move is to drop Smoke on the Surgeon, then yeet them clear off the wall with Repulsion Bolt. In this way, rather than being murdered outright, the Surgeons are merely inconvenienced by having been flung hundreds of feet away from their swordfightin' buddies, who are now on fire. 3 1 As a matter of fact, a Rad/Fire Brute does just fine in Fire *and* S/L farms, and regular content. Just because some rando can't make it work, doesn't mean their experience obviates that of all others.
catsi563 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 this entire post seems doctored ill go now and nurse my cheeseburger 1 1 My Dear you deserve the services of a great wizard but youll have to settle for the aid of a second rate pick pocket ~Schmendrick So you mean you'll put down your rock, and I'll put down my sword; and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?

Yomo Kimyata Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Earlier this year, I was on a PUG ITF and one of the members of our group was wearing the Cim Surgeon costume for the entire ITF. It was brilliant. 1 1 Who run Bartertown?

Doomguide2005 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Depends a little on who I'm on. My Nrg/Temp blaster will blow them up pronto, Claw/SR scrapper depends a bit more ... keeping the EBs and Bosses upright I'm liable to take a quick hop over and land a Follow Up Focus on them. Confuse is fun to, though I can tell if someone is paying attn to them by how fast they die despite being carpeted in pink-purple dots.

Hedgefund Posted October 10 Posted October 10 I use "enemy alive" in my surgeon target bind. "Alive" is important so you don't target corpses. 1 1
Bob Posted Saturday at 08:56 AM Posted Saturday at 08:56 AM In the rare occurrence I am in a group that can't butcher most trash, the worst I see happening is that an elite boss gets healed to full, but then someone almost always breaks off to go kill the healer(s). This game is not as fluid as other mmorpgs. You que your abilities, and you get locked in position. So if people are spamming away at anything that moves in a cluster of 30+ enemies being engaged, I'd rather them all be doing that and clean up the healers later, than some blaster wasting time trying to eyeball the surgeons or even have them targeted but them being around a corner (common). Meanwhile that blaster could have downed quite a bit of other trash before a heal even went off. With that said, if you are playing a support and have nothing to heal, your debuffs were applied, or your targets CC'd... then you should probably be the one to go volunteer to hunt the lowest HP enemy in the task force. Let the DPS actually down bigger threats, and the lower DPS ATs could go bring the surgeons down just as fast. 1
Triumphant Posted Saturday at 06:02 PM Posted Saturday at 06:02 PM I've been guilty of this the last two times that I've played a ranged toon on ITF's. It's because I haven't made targetting macros for those characters yet, and I've been lazy about doing it. I'll try to get that fixed before I sign up for another one. 😝 On the other hand, I DO see that as primarily the task of ranged AT's. So, if I'm playing a melee dude in an ITF, don't expect me to take care of that unless the surgeon is standing right next to me.

I approve of the random slaughter implied here. To the topic, was planning a solo ITF for breakfast this morning but zoned into "need one more for +4/x8 KM ITF." I joined. Was a good breakfast. Also noticed the lack of surgeons being murdered properly and said so.
Troo Posted Tuesday at 06:21 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:21 PM (edited) @Snarky welcome back to PUGs. I did an ITF last night to try and soak up some of that sweet sweet 2xp. I thought a-change-of-pace after dealing with multiboxing afk MMs in one league, 3 fold spaces in another league, and group fly in the last to close out my murder moteling. The KM +4/8 ITF was a bit of a hot mess. The team, not Ideal, as I'm the only meat shield, a taunt-less <50 SS/SR broot. Regardless, it looked like maybe it was gonna work out. One player is healing and laying down tar patches, another is putting patches on top of the patches. Heals and buffs are being handed out like candy at Halloween. Here too no one is targeting the Surgeons.. but still, it looks like we might be rolling. Then.. THEN, the better we do, the more targets start get blown out of the patches. Death begins to visit our merry band. Through a couple missions I'm thinking "don't these guys see what they are doing? That second patch is bright F-'in green". I don't wanna make a stink and continue on. Once out of the caves I start to notice someone is using Fold Space to pull targets off the patches.. huh? That can't be right. Finally last mission I have to ask.. "Hey, just curious, why is someone teleporting mobs out of the patches?" Which gets an immediate "NOW YOU ASK?!!" The teleport-er responds "Oh oops I haven't been paying attention".. scrapperlock. ITF time 1 hour 28 minutes Goal: 1:30 (so success!.. I guess. @Bill Z Bubba could solo faster?) People don't pay attention - Confirmed. People don't often know what they are doing - Confirmed. Without communication things don't improve - Confirmed. Actually teaming is harder than it sounds apparently. Thank you for reading this far. Edited Tuesday at 06:26 PM by Troo 2 "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum

I did a +4 KM ITF last night on Everlasting. We picked up a couple PUGs to round up our team. Very strong tank, decent scrapper (me), a couple other 50s that were not finished, and a smattering of lower leveled chars that contributed well enough. One was level 41 on entry and hit vet one by the end. (I think everyone hit 50+, I went from vet 70 to 77. We did have good surgeon elimination.) I think we took two hours to do it all. 1
Snarky Posted Tuesday at 07:38 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 07:38 PM I tanked the ITF 4/8 for Justice Superteamers a month or two ago. We only had a team of 5 or 6 if i remember right. And I tanked it on a Fire Fire Blaster. Went well. Amazing how much agro is controlled when everything is dead as soon as it walk up… 1
