CrudeVileTerror Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 While I don't know what things look like from their side right now, it's certainly seems to my perspective that the Devs and GMs have been getting quite a workout lately on the forums. Keep on keeping on, you [insert appropriate and acceptable euphemistic personal title noun here]! Also; special thanks to @GM Miss. We should have thrown you a little party in honour of your past work, now that you're taking a break for a bit. Then again; it's not too late! Is there anything you'd like from us? 5
KauaiJim Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 To everyone on the Homecoming team THANK YOU! for everything you have done and are doing. I love this game. I have been hooked on MMO's since my brother got me started on EQ back in 2000 and this game is still one of my favorites. I was crushed when they closed down and I monitored all of the projects and COH Titan Forums (mainly the Hail Mary thread) hoping like crazy that somehow some way this game or something very much like it could be brought back. It wasn't looking good. For years... Then HOMECOMING! I am and will be forever grateful to you all for everything you have done. As volunteers you have not only brought back CoX but have also done it incredibly professionally. It's been very impressive and amazing to me. I was a senior software engineer at a major worldwide software company for a long time and I know how much work and time goes into even making minor changes and just day to day maintenance. On top of that you are all so very helpful in game and on the forums. I'm probably babbling on but really really you guys are the best! Just the fact that I can play this wonderful game again is nothing short of a miracle. I'd like to buy you all a beer and shake your hand in person and say "thanks!". THANK YOU! Ejlertson Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Lots of good vibes your way. I've only been in contact with GMs twice, but it's been a great experience all around 3 Before you post or reply to anything online allways remember Wheaton´s Law!

Safehouse Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 I felt like I didn’t need to say anything; anything I would have said was already said. I was going to just read this thread and then go back to browsing the forum. Then it hit me: I’m browsing this forum, which wouldn’t be here if City of Heroes weren’t back. That mere fact kind of floored me. After years being gone, my favorite game truly is here. CoH was a refuge for me during difficult times, and when it was gone, that left a gaping hole. I’m now going through the hardest time of my life; the fact that City of Heroes and its community is back means more than words can say. So thank you to all the GMs, for everything you do - both publicly and behind the scenes - to keep things up and running here at Homecoming. TemporalVileTerror Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Special thanks to @GM Impervium and everyone else on the Homecoming Team for being mature, cool, level-headed, and respectful in regard to that recent topic. I appreciate your approach on that particular matter, as it's such a potential powder keg. I realize the community is not really able to openly discuss that topic in depth, so seeing that thread being allowed to remain open as long as it did was really encouraging to me. 4 1

BjorJlen Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 Ok first off, thank you @TemporalVileTerror for creating this post. One should always appreciate what one gets in life, as it could always be worse then it is. So expressing yourself with simple gratitude, even if its just a simple "thanks", should always be done. And you started this thread, so good job. 🙂 With that said, I just wanted to post a few things here in relation to giving thanks to all the GM's and other people who have put so much time, effort, and yes love into bringing back this amazing game. So without further adu... some poems for you GM's (and players too)... 😃 A Day Will Come Poet: Julie Hebert, © 2012 A day will come in every life, When appreciation is rendered. And this should be taken seriously, And given with love and tender. Anyone who deserves appreciation, Must have done something great. So share with them the way you feel, And always treat them right. But keep in mind that appreciation, Should be given again and again. If you truly appreciate, You'll remind them how great they've been. Do something special to thank the ones, Who've made a difference to you. But don't forget to thank them again, For everything they do. ------------------------------------ Volunteers have Hearts of gold, Helping people, Young and old. Always giving, Always sharing, Volunteers... Are always caring. ------------------------------------ Valuable is the work you do. Outstanding is how you always come through. Loyal, sincere and full of good cheer, Untiring in your efforts throughout the year... Notable are the contributions you make. Trustworthy in every project you take. Eager to reach you're every goal. Effective in the way you fulfill your role. Ready with a smile like a shining star, Special and wonderful, that's what you are. ------------------------------------- You Did... You didn’t have to do all that you did But you did... You didn’t have to give up so much time But you did... You didn’t have to put yourself out like you did But you did... You did when I didn’t expect you to You did what no one else could Thank you For doing what you did... -------------------------------------- And this one is especially for everyone here and in game... 🙂 Who You Are... You are not your age, Nor the size of clothes you wear, You are not a weight, Or the color of your hair. You are not your name, Or the dimples in your cheeks, You are all the books you read, And all the words you speak, You are your croaky morning voice, And the smiles you try to hide, You're the sweetness in your laughter, And every tear you've cried, You're the songs you sing so loudly, When you know you're all alone, You're the places that you've been to, And the one that you call home, You're the things that you believe in, And the people that you love, You're the photos in your bedroom, And the future you dream of, You're made of so much beauty, But it seems that you forgot, When you decided that you were defined, By all the things you're not. ---------------------------------------- Anywho, thank you GM's from all my heart for what you do on a daily basis, and the gift that you have given all of us. City of Heroes and yes, these forums too, are a blessing in many ways. Often times we can forget that; the simple little things in life that are given to us without so much as knowing it happened. As a new (old) CoH player, I don't know you GM's really, or in truth you players as well. But I am thankful for all of you, especially the GM's (like GM Kaiju for example) who give and participate in something very special here. When I heard years after that NCSoft had shut down the game, I shed a tear of saddness for that which was lost. Now those tears are of joy that some people like the GM's decided to bring this game back. Homecoming is a very appt name for these forms folks, because I am sure that none of us... NONE of us ever expected CoH to be back. So thank you again GM's for all that you do, and all that we don't see or even know about "behind the scenes". You all rock, so keep on keeping on... Peace... P.S: Yeah this was a bit sappy I admit, but hey... I like poetry and giving thanks lol. Now go hunt... kill Skulls (I mean arrest them... yeah, that's the ticket lol)... 2 1 Please come and join us on Friday at 6pm Central Time for our Friday Fashion Costume Contest (see the link below). Nemeroff Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 When I got the game in March 2005 I couldn't sleep for the first 2 weeks; that's a good thing. But at shut down it's losing so much more than "just a game." I met some of the SG mates IRL too. Anyway. From an outlet for creativity to the comradery, From the seldom-player to those writing guides, From the financial donators and especiallly the incredible & talented staff making this all possible again, Thank You Everyone! CoX, there is no substitute. 2 1 "What are dominators... Much like a spider traps a bug, wraps it up, then starts chewing on it when it's completely unable to escape or defend itself."

GraspingVileTerror Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 (edited) I received an email while at work today letting me know to thank @GM Widower. So . . . Wids? This one's for you: Edit: Thanks to @AboveTheChemist for animating the costume change emote! Leaving my old single-frame one here for posterity. Edited June 5, 2021 by GraspingVileTerror See note above. 2
Crazyleo Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 We all known that the GMs here are all great people who do go above and beyond to support this game called City of Heroes; a game we all love. But a big shoutout has to be for the community at large; for without you; City of Heroes won't even exist. I've not seen a more inclusive community any MMO I've played. Even during the dark times; the community held strong via efforts like Cape Radio and PC-Chat. So; to everyone here 1 1
GraspingVileTerror Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Thanks to the Homecoming Team in figuring out a way to get the servers back up despite the technical issues with OVH! 1 1
Alchemystic Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Even though sometimes I come out of it a little singed, I'd like to send thanks to @GM Impervium and @GM Widower for their work fighting the fires that breakout when a thread turns from a roast into an all out flame war. 1
Abraxus Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 I wanted to express my thanks to the GMs, and the Devs for their efforts, and information provided during this outage. If good customer server is not measuring IF there is an outage, but rather all the things that go into minimizing them, and how they respond on the rare occasion when things do go south; then you have acquitted yourselves well during this crisis. You worked hard at setting realistic expectations, gave updates as soon as they were available, said what you were going to do, and did what you said you would do. I have worked in IT for a very long time, both technical, and customer service. So, as a customer in this situation, I could not have asked for anything more than what was provided. 1 1 1 What was no more, is REBORN!
Game Master GM Crumpet Posted June 23, 2021 Game Master Posted June 23, 2021 Can I just say, when I feel a little down I pop on here and have a good read. It always cheers me up no end. I am probably biased, but I think we have the best community out there. We do what we do partly because we love the game, but mostly because we love you guys, and this game and this server would be nothing without you all. 5 4
Glacier Peak Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 The first time I have requested assistance or support using the in-game Support Ticket was this past week and I was a little apprehensive. I don't normally ask for help, let alone in a video game. Well I had the hardest time finding the last NPC to rescue in a CoT mission map - after about 30 minutes of wandering and covering nearly every inch of the map, I was about to just log out and try again another day - but I was so confident I had looked everywhere, that I imagined that the NPC spawned outside of the map or something. All that to say that, in around 5 minutes of putting in a Support Ticket, @GM Impervium comes in to the mission to confirm that the NPC wasn't outside the map and give me some helpful hints to find this last NPC. From the moment I hit the support button until after the issue was resolved, @GM Impervium was an absolutely professional. Well later in the week I had an actual case of an enemy getting knocked outside a mission map, and unfortunately my NPC escort would not move along past the spot either due to aggro or because the way the attacking NPC escort script works. Anyways, I had cleared route back to the door and thought maybe the NPC would've de-aggroed by then. I return to the spot to find it still running in circles endlessly. This time, with a bit more confidence that this was a serious enough issue to submit a Support Ticket. I kid you not, in LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES, @GM Kal comes in like... ... and gets the dang enemy that was knocked outside of the map and brings them back in. I was floored - I didn't even have a chance to get a cup of coffee while I was waiting. I thought it was just good timing before on my last support ticket, but this gives me reason to believe that this is a standard response time for player support. Well I was blown away to say the least and I thanked @GM Kal profusely for the amazing player support (knowing full well that these folks are volunteers and have lives like everyone else). Soooooo who would've thought that today, I would use the Support Ticket function for a third time - this time I had a Shadow Shard mission map and one of my npc escorts fell to the bottom so that I couldn't get them without getting TP'ed back to the mission start. As if there was some kind of competition for which GM could resolve an issue fast enough, @GM Impervium comes in to my mission ready to fight! ... and worked some pretty epic claw machine magic... to resolve my issue and let me escort my NPC to the end of the mission map. So again, big thanks to @GM Kal and @GM Impervium!!! 3 1 I lead weekly Indom Badge Runs / A newer giant monster guide by Glacier Peak / A tour of Pocket D easter eggs! / Arena All-Star Accolade Guide!
