Who are the top players you feel contribute a lot to the game,, yet remain unrecognized?

This game is unlike any other. The people who play it are in my opinion unlike any other game! Many of us know the big hitters on the forums and the game itself ( sometimes both). In the comics everyone remembers Superman, Spiderman,  Batman ,the X men, the Avengers and the Justice league, yet hidden in those great genres (City of Heroes is the better of all hero genes in my opinion) Are the other heroes, the ones who are not as famous but pound for pound exemplify the essence of herodom.  Who are your picks within the game and why? 

 

I just have met some very interesting people on the game and, they are like the unsung heroes of paragon. I can't be alone surly others must exist. 

Who are your UNDERDOGS!....and why?

We are talking in game here.  I have a few, though some are sung.

 

Oklahoman - He is in game and he runs efficient and yet fun runs of the iTrials.  I can count on competency and control in anything he runs.  When I get new 50's and start working incarnates the spreadsheet fills green when I participate in his runs.  Okie is a SUNG hero but I think he doesn't get sung as much as he should.

 

Blapperella - B runs efficient and no BS speed runs yet often takes the time to tell the other members of the team the story points they are seeing (especially the case in those Homecoming created Arcs) and that is another reason I think B is unsung.  There are plenty of speed runners but B runs the OGs and runs the Homecoming arcs which you just don't se run that often.

 

Captain Canada - I am spelling his name wrong, there's and apostrophe in there somewhere.  I point him out cause he's a booster, passing out influence at random all year around, just a nice little gift, no flash no show but its a million to a newbie and its is a nice thing.  He even showed me the base he inherited of a supergroup that went defunct and its kind of a sad tale really which adds to the impact of his charity, at least to me.

 

Monty Haull and Goddess Laucianna are SUNG heroes, their contributions to the game are well known.  There are others I am Sure I will think of but those ones stand out in my brain.

I'd butcher his name since I don't have access to my game logs here at work, but there's a player who routinely helps people on Excelsior simply get all their Long Range Teleporter options unlocked. That's some good old fashioned "TaxiBot-In-The-Hollows-Back-On-Live" level of service to the community right there.

@Michiyo, because Homecoming Wiki is orgasmic.  And she runs her own game server, too.  And she created the mod program half of you are using.  And she made an easily accessible archive of the original forums.

 

@AboveTheChemist, because he's the one keeping Vidiotmaps current, popmenuing the shit out of things (his beta server freebie menu is superb) and taking care of stray cats.

 

@Shenanigunner, because he's documented everything he's ever tried or read in or about the game.

 

@BlackSpectre, because he goes balls-deep into commands and options, then tells everyone about it.

 

@BillyMailman, because he just tests and tests and tests.  He's like a volunteer lab rat... hopefully one that doesn't leave a trail of urine everywhere he goes, but one I'd still respect even if he did.  From a distance.  Through a gas mask.  Warily.

Also all of those who, in spite of the usual chaos and shenanigans, competently run iTrials, Raids, Costume Contests, Zone Events, Holiday Events, Single-AT Task Forces, and probably half-a-dozen other things which I can't remember at the moment.

 

Most of the usual suspects on Excelsior have been named already in this thread, and deservingly so. I'd like to hear about those from other servers, too!

 

Lastly, I would like to thank you all, for all of the fun times I've had in HC over the years.

On Indom, a shout out to Inna and all the crew that  make the nightly Ada run available to all us lowbies and then get us through the GM hunts lol(herding cats heheh) to regular Hami’s and itrials, and the sense of fun they all do it in. We do have a small player base but surely this is a tribute to quality over quantity.

Counterintuitive premise as if known to the point of being felt to be marketed for recognition(unlike literally everyone mentioned thus far in the thread who are already rather well known) then they're not unsung, really.

 

If you want to make it more of a category for who are "unsung" then there's merit in that, especially for those that take the time to 1 on 1 teach newbies how to play, just gen pop run teams and keep people from being at each others throats etc etc.

 

But really this thread just is turning more into a jrHigh popularity nominations thread.
