TMBG FTW!

When my son was six he could sing "The Sun is a Mass of Incandescent Gas" all the way through, but we never got it on video. (I was usually driving him to daycare).

I blame the subsequent news that the song is almost entirely incorrect for his later avoidance of a career in Science!

"Miasma of Incandescent Plasma" just doesn't have the same ring.

But games? He used to pay his bills with games. (He's recovering well, thanks for asking!)

They were the last band I saw in concert, February pre-COVID.  To bring it back to the "old" theme, it was their tour (now mostly postponed until 2021) commemorating the 30th anniversary of their album Flood.

It was a great show.

OK, I think I have a tongue-in-cheek test for antiquity:

1. Who won, Nikolai or Thomas?

2. Name Zeppo's brothers.

3. If Carol, Tim, and Harvey had a race, who would come in last?

4. Spike totally won what medium?

5. Where were you on July 20th, 1969 and why?

No fair googling, but if you do at least you'll learn something, you dadgum whippersnappers!

PS: I live in a log cabin, I don't have a lawn. But if I did...

1. Thomas won, but NIkolai should have

2. Harpo, Grouch, Chico are the three you saw the most often, Gummo and Zeppo not so much.

3. The old man was played by Tim Conway.

4. Radio and is now replaced by PDQ Bach for classical and Weird AL for that more modern rock stuff

5. I was in a Trailer because I was only 5

I am 56 and 7/12ths years old.

Counting the modern movie there have been 9 actors that have played the three stooges.  Usually the three in the movie don't count as they are playing 3 of the original 6.

The three stooges are:   Moe, Larry, Shemp, Curly, Joe, & Curly Joe

My favorite old timey trivia: Who is the Lone Rangers Great Nephew?

That's just a test to see if I know history. I can give you random facts about multiple centuries but that doesn't make me hundreds of years old.

Or does it?

Just noticed this exchange.  His name was Nikola, not Nikolai.

Groucho, not Grouch.

Still a stand-out among my favorite albums!

I happened across the CD at the public library, and checked it out on a whim, circa 1993.

I was really pissed at all my friends when I raved about it and they all said, "Well, yeah, we knew about TMBG."

Bastards didn't tell me, did they?

I have since forgiven them, but it took a while.

I'll turn in my press pass.

I can't remember his character's name, but the "Missus Hu-whiggins" and the agonizingly slow shuffle (to the point where he could regularly corpse* Carol) was one of the funniest things I can remember from that era.

OK, there are a few threads that make me think I might not be the most ancient of days player on the Homecoming server.

Are you older than me? I just turned 58, which should mean I know better, but (to my surprise) that's not thing that actually happens. You don't get wiser, you just remember all the mistakes you made when you were younger. Then you pretend you are wiser to the youngsters.

Oops. Should have used the spoiler tag, but I can't figure out how to use it!

OK. so the oldest player wins 20 million inf from Yomo er, 1 million inf from me, and a promise to team up with you any time you want, as long as it's not too far past my bedtime.

Look at this big data farmer! Nice try, pal 😉

Your CoH character name is your first pet's name as your first name and the street you grew up on as your last name!

Also, how much inf would you have if you had as much as your social security number?

a) Millie Dixon (thought I thought the game was "porn star name" [which makes my wife's moniker of Oscar Old Route 30 pretty damned funny]).

b) Pretty goddamned rich, man (I'd waste it all on sets for potential toons I'd never make).

I have done a TON of AE work, both long form and single arc. Just search the AE mish list for my sig @cranebump. For more information on my stories, head to the AE forum sub-heading and look for “Crane’s World.” Support your AE authors! We ARE the new content.

This thread isn't character related.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.
